I was so happy at the time of writing this out that I have to admit I tripped over myself. What they actually said was that they'd be surprised if I didn't get pregnant within a year.

What happened with me fits the stats I stated like a glove. I had a CP in the first proper attempt, then the following two attempts ended in AF appearing. The CP fits in with the 30% chance of conception given conception occurred, 3 cycles, 30% chance in each given cycle. The 15% chance of carrying to term also fits because, well, the CP. It's a very early miscarriage.

Despite it all making perfect sense, it doesn't shake how awful I feel right now. DH and I have just spent a nice Sunday afternoon commiserating and both of us now have a much stronger aversion to work tomorrow. It's all so shite. Onwards to a new cycle and fingers crossed.

@SarahShorty so sorry AF turned up but really appreciate you sharing what the specialist said. Hope you feel better tomorrow after a (hopefully) good night's sleep. At least you have that reassurance that everything looks good for your chances in the next few months.

I'm CD11 today and got a high OPK and some EWCM. We haven't DTD yet this cycle so not feeling like it's looking likely this time. We have both been busy and had my parents staying this weekend which isn't good for romance. I'm starting to get a bit down about the whole thing TBH

coil removal booked for Monday! Eep! The excitement, the nerves! a month later than planned but hey ho.
Any books that you'd recommend for someone at the verrrry start of TTC? Bonus points for anything that might be helpful for the other half as well?

@DanisEndo that's so exciting! I never read any books but just used natural cycles and all the info they have on their app!

So I've been this morning to get my bloods taken. I'm regularly monitored as I've had low platelet levels since I was unwell in January and then got progesterone checked again today. Last time it showed I didn't ovulate but it may have been the wrong day so we finally have got the most accurate day but really nervous about the results. Hoping I don't have to wait until the end of the week to find out

@Dreamingof3 I'm hoping tomorrow my GP is usually very quick but could be a few days!

Thanks will check this out, must give BBT a go! I do find the Flo app for me pretty accurate, I follow a very normal pattern so it's usually bang on. I got my solid smiley face on the OPK today 😃 so told husband to not be late home from work 😄

I'm at my impatient stage. Cd16 and no hint of a positive opk 😒 I'm hoping it'll be tomorrow or Thursday so my cycle stays around 30 days 🤞

@DanisEndo hope everything went well 💚 my coil removal was ridiculously easy and stress free, hope yours is too. The doctor said I seemed "a very calm person" so I must have been faking it very well - hate anything with doctors/ hospitals but it was totally fine, just my irrational brain 😄

@Dreamingof3 I'm waiting for my peak too, I got high on Sunday and yesterday so I think I might be ovulating slightly earlier than last month. Yet to do today so we will see.
We DTD last night but think it is a bit early yet.

Got my progesterone results back but my Dr is off but from Dr Google it's showing that I ovulated which is great news and a bit of a weight off my mind. Think the main issue I have is that my progesterone levels don't stay that high for as long as they're supposed to but will see what the next few months bring

@Dreamingof3 this was me a few days ago. How you get your peak soon - it's so annoying waiting!

@lj2022 glad your results indicate you've ovulated! Hope you can get some more info from the doctor when they're back.

I'm about 2/3dpo. Getting very impatient and It's only cycle 2. Trying not to get too in my head as I'm well aware this could take a long time like last time. Doesn't help 2 friends have announced pregnancy and fell first month trying..talk about added pressure 😂 hope everyone is getting on okay.

@ljlj2022 glad you've got some reassurance at least!

@theawkwardblonde feel your pain, I've seen so many pregnancy announcements in the past 3 years or so I feel like I'm the only childless person left 😕

@LucyLoopyLu it is hard. I conceived our daughter after 18 months and 7 of my friends fell pregnant in that time. All conceived first time/long after we started. I'm lucky that I fell eventually so not entirely in that same position but I'm still desperate to conceive number 2. Stay positive - your time will come ☺️

@Theawkwardblonde it really is hard when there's pregnancy announcements all around you I feel that way too. Feel like everyone around me it's happening for so easy and I'm now on cycle 7 about to go into cycle 8 if unsuccessful this month but I just keep saying to myself it will happen one day and I'm such a believer in timing. I believe it's not happened yet due to the universe knowing my partner was going to propose so hoping now in the next few months it will happen 😂 keeping my fingers crossed for you in this TWW. I'm glad I'm 5 days in without having known really but stupidly redownloaded my apps and regretting it as the ignorance was bliss

@lj2022 @Theawkwardblonde @LucyLoopyLu I can only imagine how hard it is when you try for so long and there's announcements every other day 😔 it does seem that everyone else is pregnant when you want to be!

I've still not got a positive opk, but wanted to start dtd yesterday just to cover us in case it happened quickly....he was too tired 😒 we've got a busy weekend coming up so I already feel like this month isn't going to be the month

@lj2022 the apps are great but they do add a bit pressure I think. My DH is already a bit peeved as we've gone from sex whenever back to TTC sex which he isn't a massive fan of. That's a good mindset to have around your engagement - deffo think baby was waiting to stick after you got engaged ☺️

@Dreamingof3 definitely everyone gets pregnant when you're trying! 😂 just remember even just dtd once in the run up to ovulation can work. Ironically we only dtd once (4days before peak) when I fell with DD. It literally breaks my brain that you can have loads of sex and not catch, but do it once and you can 🤔

@Theawkwardblonde ist it annoying. My eldest is a surprise contraception baby, so baffles me that when i try it doesn't just happen 🤣🤣 last month we only dtd once I got my peak so that's why I want to get a couple of times in before this month 😅

@Dreamingof3 it's frustrating when the DTD schedule doesn't go to plan! Especially when you've got a busy spell coming up

@Theawkwardblonde yea I loved the apps at first but then wasn't getting much out of them so we've been trying to make effort just to DTD more regularly hoping we catch the right moment and it's been a lot more relaxing. I'll probably delete my apps again now I know roughly when my AF is due. Hopefully your DH gets used to the TTC sex soon, it really is a minefield and nothing like you imagine TTC to be isn't it

@LucyLoopyLu im the same, flashing smilies since Sunday, was predicted ovulation today but obviously nothing yet to suggest on opks so looking like I'm having a later ovulation than last month which was CD13. Hopefully will ovulate before the weekend!

Feeling very emotional today and just really down.

I'm 10 days po today but just feel negative about the whole thing.

it just feels like life is on hold until it happens - very frustrating and I’ve not even started TTC yet so I imagine it gets worse.
