I had the same issue this month @Theawkwardblonde. I usually ov around day 18 so started taking OPKs from day 13 and looks like I peaked around 14 but I thought it was going to carry on rising which it didn’t 🙈 we only dtd on day 11 so I’m out this month. Hopefully you’ll have faired better!

WingingIt09 · 22/06/2022 22:48

@Dreamingof3 yes, we are trying regardless for March and April due dates. My brother is getting married at the end of May so will have to stop if we're not pregnant as not risking a due date around his wedding and May/June due dates will be 2 weeks before/after the wedding.

I'm 35 this month @Dreamingof3 so I hear you and babydust for the next few months!!

Congratulations @lj2022 on your engagement 💗

First month trying and tracking for me. OPKs high tonight, ovulation predicted for tomorrow and my DPs not home until Saturday night so it's no longer a TTC month for us so we'll try again in August maybe if times work out. It's disheartening but I'm so much earlier in this journey I can't complain and I've already gained a better understanding of my cycle. It's given me a much greater appreciation though for those of you trying for a substantial period of time. I hope julys a great month for all! Baby dust 🧚‍♀️

Dreamingof3 · 23/06/2022 07:10

@Anna531 I know that it may or may not have anh impact whatsoever but I'd absolutely hate to leave it a year or so and then find out it might be too late

Anna531 · 23/06/2022 08:19

@Dreamingof3 absolutely!! Lots of ladies in my friend circle are older and having children. Everyone's just different. This would be both of our first if we're lucky enough and we'd like more than one so we have to consider age in it all. Ideally me and DP would wait, get married etc but we've decided to prioritise this because its so important to us.

Bananatoast123 · 23/06/2022 08:46

@lj2022 congratulations!

I’m now 8dpo and I caved and tested on a cheapie and got a BFN which I expected as it’s far too early to test! I need to resist the urge until 11dpo I think!

No pms symptoms yet other than 1 sore boob which I always get around 5dpo!

We are going away on the day my period is due so I keep telling myself if it’s a BFN I can enjoy sipping on cocktails and forget TTC for a while, but also would be so nice to find a BFP on holiday!

HeathenPlayingHouse · 23/06/2022 10:33

Congratulations on your engagement @lj2022!

BritishDesiGirl · 23/06/2022 17:31

I haven't posted in here for a bit.

I'm 4DPO and cycle day and cycle day 14. Honestly having so much anxiety 🙃.

Hard to put into words. I can't tell my husband as he knows me to well and will tell me stop worrying which makes me worry me.

Just want to air my fears on here.

I've got a while until my period so just a waiting game for now.

I hope all of your are doing well

DesertSnow · 23/06/2022 19:15

Sorry to hear about the Covid @Mortima, hope you're on the mend!

@Dreamingof3 @WingingIt09 @Theawkwardblonde It's tricky to time it, isn't it? I guess there just really isn't a convenient time to have a baby! We talked about trying in July, but if we were lucky then the due date would likely be around my brother's wedding, so we decided to hold off. But we don't want to hold off for too long, as like people have said, we don't want to find out we waited too long, especially given my endo.

Congrats on your engagement @lj2022! Definitely make the most of this time. Glad you're feeling more relaxed about TTC too.

@Mushroo That's interesting re. the fitbit. Can I ask which model it is?

@Bananatoast123 That's a nice way to frame it - you'll enjoy your holiday either because of a BFP, or you'll get to relax a bit from TTC and enjoy a few cocktails! We're going to start TTC the cycle before the wedding, and while I really would love to catch first month (unlikely, I know!), I'm trying to think that at least if I'm not, I'll be able to drink at the wedding.

@BritishDesiGirl I'm sorry to hear you're feeling so anxious. It's very difficult to think about anything else, isn't it? Easier said than done to not worry. We're here for you, feel free to talk to us.

Mushroo · 23/06/2022 19:45

@DesertSnow it’s just the cheapest model, inspire 2. I think all of them will do the resting heart rate though :)

Dreamingof3 · 23/06/2022 20:48

@DesertSnow I have a fitbit blaze that does heart rate....interestingly in my last pregnancy I had noticed my resting heart rate was higher when i got my bfp!

keeponsmiling2019 · 24/06/2022 06:44

Morning all. Was about to test today on 14dpo but Af is here 🙄oh well on to the next cycle

Bananatoast123 · 24/06/2022 07:45

@DesertSnow exactly! I just need to keep the frame of mind!

@keeponsmiling2019 ah no sorry your AF turned up! It’s disappointing isn’t it, but you get the fun of the next cycle!

Bananatoast123 · 24/06/2022 07:47

@DesertSnow re your wedding it’s nice either way! Although not sure how I’d manage to cover up not drinking if it was my wedding, everyone putting champagne in your hand!!

Theawkwardblonde · 24/06/2022 08:43

So opks still haven't detected a peak but (TMI) has ewcm last night so assuming body is gearing up for ovulation?
Who knows. I've never not had a peak on an opk so not sure if it's just a few dodgy tests or not. Either way we've dtd the last 2 nights, and will tonight too. Hoping that's enough to stick as DH is away from tomorrow.
Completely forgot how stressful TTC was. It's not a nice time and I'm already struggling with it mentally. I'm feeling like it's just going to take an age again.

PinkButtercups · 24/06/2022 08:51

Wow, haven't checked in, in a while!

The list is so long now! Congratulations all! And wishing lots of baby dust to people still trying.

Have my 12 week scan this afternoon then the GAP midwife after. I feel so anxious!

PinkButtercups · 24/06/2022 08:56

Oh and more blood tests afterwards 😩. This is for the screening for DS etc c

Bananatoast123 · 24/06/2022 09:51

@Theawkwardblonde i know how you feel! It can be really stressful as it’s almost something you can’t entirely control!

I try to focus on stuff I can control, like Dtd, being healthy and just trying to enjoy life pre-baby! Enjoy the things you can do now whilst you’re not pregnant etc like a glass of wine or getting in and out of baths haha!

This month with my OPK’s I just tried to see it like great I know where my body is at so I know when my period is due so I get no bloody mess/ caught off guard with clothing (TMI sorry!) - so maybe see it as I’ve not peaked yet so I get to have the fun of more dtd and my hormones are going to make me feel pretty good too, rather than the yucky pms feeling!

Im always having to reframe my mind into thinking of positives to the month as you’ll see above ^!

I hope you find a way to enjoy the process and not let the stress get too much (although I know how it can be!)

Theawkwardblonde · 24/06/2022 09:59

@Bananatoast123 thank you, you're right in your suggestions. I think I'm just being defeatist as it took so long to conceive dd.
Plus it's just so damn hot, dtd in this weather is just clammy 😂

Dreamingof3 · 24/06/2022 10:57

@PinkButtercups good luck with your scan 🤩

This weather and ttc is rubbish 😅 I've got a thermometer arriving today and going to start dtd every other day then a bit extra once I get my positive opk...going full on this month as it'd be the ideal time to conceive 😂

BritishDesiGirl · 24/06/2022 14:33

@DesertSnow thankyou for the support.

Stupidly l tested today and it was negative, no surprises aa only 5 dpo.

I've been having cramps and yesterday a very bad stitch on one. I don't if that means anything.

PinkButtercups · 24/06/2022 18:00

Thank you!

Had my scan today and thankfully both babies are looking good. Separate placentas so that's preferable. New due date of the 31/12/2022 🤣.

Preparing to TTC in 2022 part 4 - where the BFPs keep on coming!
WingingIt09 · 24/06/2022 19:06

@keeponsmiling2019 sorry AF arrived. Fingers crossed for you for the next cycle

@PinkButtercups awww look at them! So exciting for you!

@Dreamingof3 that should give you a good chance! Fingers crossed.

5DPO here, one week until I test... hopefully it passes quickly!

OP posts:
DesertSnow · 24/06/2022 19:20

Thanks @Mushroo and @Dreamingof3 - I didn't know that your heartrate would change in your cycle, that's really interesting.

@keeponsmiling2019 sorry to hear about AF - fingers crossed for you the next cycle is the one.

@Bananatoast123 I'm not a big drinker and would probably only have a glass or two of fizz at my wedding, so it won't really make a difference to me if I can't drink, and it won't be noticeable.

@Theawkwardblonde sounds like you're giving yourself a good chance.

@BritishDesiGirl hang in there. Think it would be v. unlikely for it show up so early. You're not out until you're out.

Good luck @Dreamingof3!

@PinkButtercups Amazing! You must feel so relieved and excited. Glad all is well. And what a due date!

HippeePrincess · 24/06/2022 22:10

How lovely @PinkButtercups!

Good luck @Dreamingof3 and @WingingIt09 in avoiding inconvenient dates

Congratulations on your engagement @lj2022

@TonkaBean22 and @DesertSnow re travel it's never been something I've considered avoiding, I think there is the chance you might feel unwell though (nausea/sickness).

7 more days til my early private scan followed by my first midwife appointment, between 7 & 8 weeks and feeling pretty ropey/nauseous and I am going to be the size of a house by next month as the only thing that helps is eating constantly!
