@DesertSnow I took vit c, vit d and folic acid. Was also on baby aspirin but that's down to me having repeat miscarriages. I'm taking them all again now.
I did try seven seas pregnancy vitamins (purple box) but they delayed my period by 5 days!! Not nice when TTC as I kept thinking I caught. I blame those vitamins as when I stopped taking them my cycle dropped back to 28 days.

Anna531 · 20/06/2022 19:45

Thanks @WingingIt09 and @DesertSnow

So sorry to hear your news @Gizzy93, I hope you're OK x

I'm CD13, doing OPKs this cycle which have me ovulating CD17 but my DP works away alot of the time and isn't home until late on CD18. I read its better to DTD on the run up to it. I wondered what you all thought- its only our first attempt, I'm so new to this and can't talk to him about it. I don't want to get hopeful and wonder the whole TWW if its highly unlikely and should maybe park it until the next time our dates line up better?

Theawkwardblonde · 20/06/2022 19:46

Oh and I cut down caffeine massively (sigh). Hard to do when you do shift work, but it was recommended by my fertility consultant.

Bananatoast123 · 20/06/2022 20:51

Hey all!

I’m 5dpo (CD19 in a 27 day cycle) today and can feel I am getting sore boobs! Not feeling hopeful as I’ve always had sore boobs at 5/6 dpo TTC or not…so now just feel glum like my AF is going to come and my cycle will be the usual pms from now on!

I know it’s too early to tell and I shouldn’t symptom spot but now cycle 4 and just feel my usual is happening again despite DTD lots all through my fertile window!

did anyone else have their usual pms symptoms but end up pregnant? This is our first we are trying for so I have nothing to go off

DesertSnow · 20/06/2022 21:47

@Mushroo absolutely. It will be my first too. Fingers crossed for us both!

Ah that's good to hear, I might get some vit c and zinc!

@Theawkwardblonde ah, that's interesting about the vitamins affecting your cycles, I can only imagine how hard that was when you thought you might have caught. My cycle is already too long for my liking so anything that could potentially prolong is definitely off my list! I don't have too much caffeine in my diet, so I'm ok on that front, I imagine it's hard to cut down! I'm fond of a few cheeses that I know you're not allowed in pregnancy. All for a good cause and all, but I think difficult if your DP can eat what they want!

@Anna531 I would be too impatient to wait for the next cycle, but that's me! Why not see this as a 'bonus' month and have a go while trying not to get your hopes up to much, then try 'properly' when your dates line up? Only a suggestion of course, but I think that's what I would do.

@Bananatoast123 I'm sorry you're feeling glum. I guess it's very difficult not to overthink and symptom spot. From everything I've learnt about ttc, so many things have to line up so try not to get disheartened - cycle 4 is pretty early days, from my understanding. Easier said than done, but best to try and fill your tww with distractions and try and take your mind off it. Hang in there.

Bananatoast123 · 20/06/2022 22:02

@DesertSnow I know you’re right! It’s so difficult when it’s the unknown. It’s weird how you do everything you can but it’s all down to luck! I’ll stay distracted and try not to think about it! It could just be my progesterone rising as normal and it’s whether everything else comes together so I guess it’s still a good sign that my body is producing it!! Thank you though… sometimes you just have to have a worry moment!

Anna531 · 20/06/2022 23:36

Thanks @DesertSnow I know you're right. It's better to think of it as a bonus month than an opportunity lost. All about framing it better I guess. July timelines wont work out for us to TTC but that's just how it goes sometimes. Roll on August.

Good luck @Bananatoast123 I hope this months the one and the remainder of the TWW flies in!

Mortima · 21/06/2022 09:59

Fertile week is here and I've finally succumbed to Covid 😔Possibly ovulating tomorrow (CD16), and only DTD on CD13 so far., so I'm probably out for this month.

DH is still fine, but not sure this hacking cough is a turn-on...

Mushroo · 21/06/2022 10:33

@Mortima oh no!! I think I’m coming down with it as well - it’s definitely going back around

Bananatoast123 · 21/06/2022 12:28

@Mortima its awful isn’t it! I had covid and then my booster the month after and it threw my cycle completely off, and I swear it took me out of it happening!

just keep tracking and keep going! Good luck for you this month!

Mortima · 21/06/2022 13:51

Thanks both, and solidarity with you @Mushroo - hope you've escaped it.

HeathenPlayingHouse · 21/06/2022 16:08

I'm so sorry @Gizzy93 ❤️

Hope everyone is doing well! Not sure where I am in the cycle, but today was the last day of Provera. I've read that AF should turn up 3-7 days after I finish taking it, I'm hoping for 3 since we're going on holiday next week!

Dreamingof3 · 22/06/2022 07:17

Hi all! Coming out the other side of the busy birthday period 🤣

I had a bit of a wobble about ttc and timing. We go away in September and this is the last cycle that would mean I'd be over 12 weeks when we go. We've also booked our wedding for next summer, and we want to avoid may/june/July birthdays...so my issue is when does that leave time for a baby 🤷‍♀️

I'm also very aware that I turn 35 next year so I don't want to put it off.

Essentially we just decided we'd carry on and see what happens, maybe re evaluate if it hasn't happened in a few months

Angie2018 · 22/06/2022 08:27

Theawkwardblonde · 20/06/2022 12:26

@Gizzy93 sorry to read about your chemical, take care of yourself.

Seems a lot of us have had a bad month this month. Fingers crossed for some sticky beans! Those that BBT track..is it worth it? I use opks but gave up first time around tracking bbt. Do any of you do it and find it helps pinpoint ovulation?

I track BBT well due for the first time this cycle & I swear it has allowed me to pin point ovulation down within a mater of a couple of hours so I personally will carry on every month. I had my peak opk Monday around 6pm, then had my one sided cramps at about 4pm yesterday along with lots of EWCM & a bit off a blood streak (sorry TMI 🙈🙈) that always signals I am ovulating right then, I took my temp this morning and low and behold it's spiked as it should do confirming ovulation. Without taking my temp this morning I would have not known for sure and may have delayed DTD today til later when the egg is no longer viable but now I know I need to DTD this morning to cover all bases. We've DTD lots over the last few days anyway but I personally think it's helped me loads! It is a faff though as you have to do it before you get up first thing around same time.

Springblooms08 · 22/06/2022 13:47

Hi ladies hope everyone is getting on ok on this journey. I’m on cycle two this month and have been doing daily OPKs since cd12. I think I got my peak yesterday, but I’m unsure as the line wasn’t quite as dark as the control line. It’s back down today though so perhaps it was? Has anyone experienced this before?

I have quite irregular cycles, anything from 34-46 days so it can be tricky knowing if/when I ovulate!

Thank you ❤

Preparing to TTC in 2022 part 4 - where the BFPs keep on coming!
lj2022 · 22/06/2022 15:38

@Springblooms08 I never actually get a positive so I take my darkest as my peak but I've stopped using OPKs all together now, apparently they can be less reliable if you have irregular cycles due to hormone fluctuations do you track your BBT? I tracked my BBT for a few months and it confirmed I ovulate and preferred it so much to OPKs to get to know my cycle and now I've stopped tracking all together!

lj2022 · 22/06/2022 15:43

How is everyone getting on ? Anyone in or bout to go into their TWW? I think I'll be in my TWW in the next couple of days but not tracking this month has been amazing I honestly feel so happy and relaxed.

I also just got engaged so I think that happy bubble I'm in is helping me take my mind off TTC so fingers crossed all those happy endorphins help with me TTC.

Hope everyone that's pregnant is doing well and I think I may have missed a loss or two so for anyone going through that I hope you're all keeping okay

Springblooms08 · 22/06/2022 15:49

@lj2022 ohh that’s interesting. I don’t track bbt no, always felt like it’s so faffy!! That’s so good you don’t feel the need to track anymore, do you feel more relaxed?

Congratulations on your engagement!!!

lj2022 · 22/06/2022 15:52

@Springblooms08 I felt that was at first with BBT but stuck with it as it was the only way to fully confirm ovulation without getting bloods done but it is a lot of effort. I feel so much more relaxed although I have a short luteal phase I decided to still stop tracking and just hope for the best for the next few months and it's made such a difference to my stress levels. It's so hard though this TTC business

Thankyou very much

Springblooms08 · 22/06/2022 15:57

@lj2022 I think I’ll probably do the same after this cycle. I have a blood test next week to see if I ovulated this cycle (I have pcos so very unsure!) and if that confirms that I did, I’ll be a lot more relaxed going forward I think.

Hope you enjoy your engagement celebrations 😊

Mushroo · 22/06/2022 17:17

For anyone looking for a lazy way to track, my Fitbit automatically monitors resting heart rate and that does the same as BBT - low in the first half of the cycle and then i get a jump after ovulation.

it’s probably not quite as good as BBT but requires zero effort on my part as I’m wearing the Fitbit anyway!

WingingIt09 · 22/06/2022 17:26

@Dreamingof3 I know that feeling. If I get pregnant this cycle (and it sticks) then I will potentially miss one of my oldest friend's wedding and my cousins wedding (both kid free, although not sure if they will include babe in arms in that). But if we wait then it's moving closer to a bigger gap than I want and I'll end up with 3 kids birthdays in quick succession 🙈

@Springblooms08 this happened to me last cycle, I surged really quickly so missed the positive

@lj2022 congratulations on your engagement! I'm 3DPO atm so at the beginning of the TWW 🙈

Theawkwardblonde · 22/06/2022 17:30

@Dreamingof3 I've got to time it right conceiving as I'm a bridesmaid next year..if I don't fall this month will have to hold off the next couple of months to be safe 😫

I'm in a panic, seemed to be building for ovulation but opks are now fading and I haven't detected my peak. We've only dtd twice in the last 5 days. I'm cd 13, usually ovulate around 16 but last cycle was day 13. Don't know if it'll build the next few days or if I've missed it.
This is why I need to start tracking bbt! Thanks everyone for the advice on tracking bbt ☺️

lj2022 · 22/06/2022 18:36

Thankyou @WingingIt09 hope your TWW goes quickly got everything crossed for you

Dreamingof3 · 22/06/2022 20:32

@lj2022 congratulations on your engagement!

@WingingIt09 will you just be trying regardless? I think that's what we're going to do, i don't want to delay for hypothetical issues and then struggle down the line x
