@thislittlebird ooh that is an amazing package, i can see why you'd want to stay where you are. with statutory, you'd definitely have less of an incentive to stay!!

@Gracie2021 that is so frustrating. it is so annoying when clinics prioritise their timetables above your care. hope you're not feeling too rubbish from the medication and that you can try again soon. sending hugs!!

thislittlebird · 05/07/2022 22:17

@99pctpractice yeah it is good, and I don't want to miss out on it so I would really appreciate it if my embryo would stick!

Erm so I just got a lot of EWCM and this has thrown a spanner in my weekend away plans. My body is such an annoying cow, so unpredictable! I'll do an OPK tonight I suppose, and I've emailed the clinic to ask if it makes more sense to come in tomorrow for a scan just in case.

The other thing that was odd is the EWCM was pink tinged. I feel like @Kay00 has had something like that? It's a new one on me, not sure what that's all about.

Kay00 · 06/07/2022 06:48

@thislittlebird oh yeah, I've had pink tinged EWCM. It could be ovulation bleeding. Or a bit of blood following sex? Nothing to worry about xx

@Gracie2021 😡 I would be very upset too. Its really shirty of them to get it so wrong. Do you have the option of switching clinics or are you tied?

Juno231 · 06/07/2022 09:54

@thislittlebird even then it's tricky - I resigned from work end of June I think but with a 3 month notice I couldn't start until October - anything could happen in the meantime! @99pctpractice my OH is applying for a job somewhere where they give you 6 months paid leave so I've told him if he gets it he's not allowed to leave until we know we're done with babies lol.

@Gracie2021 christ what a cock up! I'm glad you've filed a complaint - I just can't believe the amount of mistakes you gals keep experiencing on this thread!

thislittlebird · 06/07/2022 10:23

@Kay00 definitely not sex, possibly ovulation but it is early so I'm wondering if it's the recurrent thrush. So annoying, I wish my body would just behave.

@Juno231 Oh god, 3 month notice is rubbish. I'm only a one-monther, which works fairly well compared to three. I would love my oh to be able to help out for longer, but may never need it so probably shouldn't worry.

My OPK was negative so that's good, just some rogue CM. Going for my scan tomorrow as planned.

Gracie2021 · 07/07/2022 10:01

It's getting to be a bit of a joke of the unfunny kind alright @99pctpractice @Juno231 @kay00. So fed up. Spoke with our doctor this morning and she’s just back from holidays and wasn’t even aware that there’s been an issue that caused the cancelled cycle or that we’d made a formal complaint. We also weren’t made aware that she was on holiday and not there in the background monitoring our transfer cycle which is likely why we weren’t prioritized when it came to scheduling. So many layers of bad to this and I’m just angrier after that call which I didn’t think was even possible!!! She’s going to speak with the clinic and come back to us about our complaint cause clearly she has no idea what happened.

Changing clinic isn't really an option and I don't want the delay. At least we should receive the VIP treatment next time as I'd say they're afraid we'd sue. I may have used the word negligence... so for next time upping the dose of femetab from 6mg to 8mg for our next transfer and much closer monitoring together with absolute priority in scheduling. Have to be honest, my trust and faith in our clinic is at rock bottom.

In happier news how are you @Juno231? Hope all is going smoothly for you. Can't be long now.

@thislittlebird fingers crossed for your scan today. Hoping for the best and you can proceed!!! Keep us posted.

JeanieJ · 07/07/2022 18:25

@Gracie2021 I've just been catching up on your story! What an absolute shit show. You poor thing! 😕
Is this a Dublin clinic? I'm from Dublin, but in London. My sis is gonna start fertility treatment soon (same sex relationship) so hoping she doesn't have a similar experience. Xx

thislittlebird · 08/07/2022 11:35

@Gracie2021 honestly that sounds dreadful. Fingers crossed that when you do get to transfer this is it and you don’t need a new clinic but at least you know to be all over them now.

My scan was fine, lining was 6.6mm on day 9, lead follicle was only 12mm so my body was clearly being a bit premature with the CM. Going back on Monday, doing OPKs each day and they’re going to let me know when to start the Cyclogest.

Gracie2021 · 08/07/2022 23:15

Great news @thislittlebird so happy all is on track for you. Do they have an estimated transfer day for you?

Thanks @thislittlebird @JeanieJ yea it's a Dublin clinic rd. I suspect they're all the same though and you can be unlucky at any of them. Think you nearly need to micromanage and backseat drive your care all along and Feck it if it makes anyone uncomfortable. Still nothing back from our doctor following the call yesterday but have a good weekend ahead abd taking a break from isolating so ready for some fun. Hope you're all doing ok.

Tillybabs · 09/07/2022 23:59

@Gracie2021 I'm so sorry it has been cancelled. I know you have been worried about this happening and were not confident with their timings etc. It's just so draining and upsetting for you to go through another cycle again just because they messed up!

thislittlebird · 10/07/2022 21:09

@Gracie2021 I spoke too soon 😭. My body is doing the same stupid shit it did last transfer, which is trying to ovulate and failing, I guess. LH started going up and then back down to nothing again so god know what they’ll see tomorrow. Probably a new dominant follicle popped up on the other side.

It’s very annoying because it means I have to keep telling them it will happen, and also means my transfer would be next week at the earliest now.

have you heard from your doctor?

I might change my username soon, too brain dead from travelling back from
cornwall today to think of a new one lol. Will try again tomorrow.

thislittlebird · 11/07/2022 10:05

Ok back on track it seems. 17mm follicle, 7.7mm lining and EWCM showed up this morning. Need to keep testing but I’d guess my transfer will be next week.

thislittlebird · 11/07/2022 10:09

I was probably never off track but I was tricked by my body been a dumbass.

Tinkerbell098 · 11/07/2022 13:20

@thislittlebird fingers crossed you'll get your positive LH XX

beckyCarlos · 12/07/2022 12:11

Hey loves :) hope you're all ok! There's a lot to catch up on! @gracie2021 I'm absolutely gutted for you. I hope you're doing alright! @thislittlebird hope things are still looking good for your transfer! X

Tinkerbell098 · 12/07/2022 13:01

Hi ladies, I’ve just been for my nurse consultation and have been informed that there is a nationwide shortage of suprecur (buserelin). They’ve given me two options. Either go for short protocol so skip downregulation or wait until it’s back in stock. Apparently they’re expecting it to be back in august so the delay would potentially just be a month. Nurse told me there isn’t much of a difference whether you use short or long. I’m more biased towards long protocol but also want to get this done soon as it feels like I’ve been waiting for ages to even get to this point. This would be my first cycle so I have no idea what I would respond to so am in two minds about what to do. Do you ladies have any advice or preference for one over the other?

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 12/07/2022 13:08

@beckyCarlos hello! How’s it going?

things are going well! Ovulating on day 14 is very unlike me but here we are, look at that positive opk! I wasn’t even sure I could even get positives on these a few months ago lol. I’ll take the positives I can get. Except corona, I don’t want those ones.

@Tinkerbell098 what’s your AMH like?

Fertility Appointments and Beyond.... the next chapter
thislittlebird · 12/07/2022 13:09

The extra text vanished. What I was going to add @Tinkerbell098 was I did short because I have fairly high AMH, wouldn’t want to be on drugs for too long if I can avoid it. So if you have a good amh short will likely be fine.

Tinkerbell098 · 12/07/2022 13:16

@thislittlebird thats a great positive! Yey! My AMH was 12.6 so lower end for my age bracket.

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 12/07/2022 14:08

@Tinkerbell098 hmmm yeah that’s a tough one because it’s sort of middling, but you’re younger, right? so even with fewer eggs collected than someone my age with high amh you would probably have better quality. Did the doctors say they definitely wanted you to do down reg? And is this your funded round(s)?

beckyCarlos · 12/07/2022 14:50

@thislittlebird blimey! Thats a good un!! Haha yes, my husband got a positive covid test on sat, I was negative on Sunday and still feeling ok (dont need to go anywhere so not testing now that LTFs are chargeable lol, still have a small stash of free ones!)

@tinkerbell01 controversially perhaps I'd opt for short. My AMH is 2.something but I have an AFC of 4, I was advised long protocol was best and I gotm..two folicles and one egg 🙈 the downreg worked too well in my case! Next cycle will be short on advice of consultant (annecodotally I know of a few women in a similar position who were recommended long and it didnt go too well but short got them babies and even extra frozen embryos!) Ultimately they'll have recommended long because according to the stats its more likely to be better for you, but I dont think short would be a bad thing...guess it depends how much you want to get going, and whether you'll be at the front of the queue in August or could ve waiting longer? X

thislittlebird · 12/07/2022 15:04

@beckyCarlos yeah we still have a stash too. I did some last week before we went away as I had a cold or something but never tested positive for covid and then it went away. I can still get them free because I have asthma, and they offered me antivirals too, if I get it. Not sure if I’d take them, but not had it yet.

Transfer is booked for Sunday morning at 11! Dh can come with me now, it will be on a 30C day in his lovely plastic gown and hat, he will be loving that experience I’m sure lol.

Tinkerbell098 · 12/07/2022 15:07

@thislittlebird ill be 37 in September so not that young! No the doctor hasn’t said definitely downreg. It was just the nurse today who said I can have either option and said I can do an AFC scan which will shed more light into my egg reserve. So I’ve now got one booked for this Thursday. This is my first and only funded round.

@beckyCarlos thanks for your input. Short does sound simpler and kinder on the body. There really isn’t anyway of knowing is there? I still feel brain dead after that appointment!

OP posts:
Tinkerbell098 · 12/07/2022 15:12

@beckyCarlos when do you start your round? Yes I know what you mean about the wait I did think that. There is no guarantee that they’d get the stocks in on time or those being available to me. I just want to get going now as the wait is killing me.
