Hi,

I am new here. I am 42 and ttc baby number 3. I am scared and going into my second month.
Previously no issues falling pregnant but due my age am worried it may no longer happen.
Am looking for any success stories and advice on supplements etc.
Be nice to connect with more mummas. X

I possibly don’t count, but I’m 35 and dp is 55 and we’ve just gone contraceptive free to see about a baby!

I realise I am younger than you, but I’ve heard that 35+ counts as ‘geriatric’ 😬

Sunnierdays7 · 28/02/2022 11:26

Hi there @Excited101 yes I had my second child at 36 and was referred to as a geriatric!! Was a bit off putting. Good luck to you. How exciting x

Thanks Sunnier ☺️
My implant came out on Friday and I came on my period yesterday morning. I’ve just downloaded a cycle tracker- this is my first time off contraceptives for about 15 years straight so I’m fascinated to know what it’s like!

I started wellwoman vitamins a week ago too, just in case 😬

Just wanted to give encouragement.. I had a ds at 43.2. Previous dc was at 37.
Conceived quickly both times. ..

Sunnierdays7 · 28/02/2022 11:43

@Easterbunnyiswindowshopping love your name btw. Made me smile.
That’s amazing news. How old is he now? Did you take any supplements ?
I might take the boots ttc tablets did before and worked well. Do you mind me asking how long did it take to conceive your son ? X

I'm about to turn 39, TTC #1 since summer 2020 (with a break for a few months due to change of job).
Had ultra sound today, no issues.
Keep trying to get the HSG I've been referred for, but every month they are full and can't fit me in. I called the hospital today to see if I can be referred elsewhere.

Good luck everyone - loads of baby dust.

Sunnierdays7 · 28/02/2022 12:59

Hi @pinkpirlie sorry to hear it has been difficult for you so far. Pleasing about the ultrasound but must be so frustrating.
Let’s stick together for support I have more free time these days so am checking here often xxx

I gave up tea, coffee and Fizzy drinks. Ate veg especially greens every day. Took folic acid, dh took vitamin c soluble high strength. Started ttc end of October.. Got a bfp in Feb. Fantastic ds is 7 and a half now.

SirVixofVixHall · 01/03/2022 10:42

I got pregnant literally the first night we tried, at 42. She was born when I was 43.
I didn’t do much, other than mention to my regular acupuncture person that I was going to to try so he tailored my session towards that. Who knows if it helped , but I feel it did.

Wish44 · 01/03/2022 11:40

Hi,

Good luck to you. I have just had my third at 44. It did take 3 years of trying and three miscarriages... but we got there in the end!

Londondreams1 · 01/03/2022 11:44

41 and have 2 children, divorced, but would love a third. Never felt like this strong desire for in my twenties and thirties. Lovely and reassuring to see I have a year or two left to maybe do it.

Wish44 · 01/03/2022 11:49

I don't know how to do a link but there is a long mumsnet thread called positive success story's over 40 .. maybe you could google it? It is full of loads of lovely stories of women getting pregnant in their 40's.

Sunnierdays7 · 01/03/2022 12:09

Thank you 😊
