Hi,

I am new here. I am 42 and ttc baby number 3. I am scared and going into my second month.
Previously no issues falling pregnant but due my age am worried it may no longer happen.
Am looking for any success stories and advice on supplements etc.
Be nice to connect with more mummas. X

I’m fairly certain I’m being ridiculous. But.

Dtd last night, first time since my implant came out just under 3 weeks ago. According to my period tracker, I’m fairly fertile atm.

TMI!!
Just now, I went to the toilet and had a fairly huge glob of discharge (sorry), that is really unusual. It can’t mean anything can it? It was just a bit surprised! Now I’ve convinced myself it’s a super early sign of pregnancy even though it can’t be… can it? 😬

Wish44 · 09/03/2022 15:44

Was it clear and sticky...like egg white? If so that is the discharge you get when in fertile phase.

Excited101 · 09/03/2022 15:51

It was clear-white and sticky like a big glob of mucassy snot really!

Excited101 · 09/03/2022 15:52

I’ve been on the implant for about 10 years and the pill before that, all these other body things are quite new to me!

Sunnierdays7 · 09/03/2022 19:17

I get that during my fertile window. 4 + 3 over here still can’t believe it x

Excited101 · 09/03/2022 21:16

And another lot just now, that one was really egg whitey and stretchy! I can’t believe I seem to have hit the most fertile part of my cycle so clearly! 😲

That’s amazing op! How are you feeling?

Sunnierdays7 · 10/03/2022 04:55

Good luck for you!!
I’m feeling completely normal no symptoms as yet but guess that makes me a bit anxious after several loses. X

Ah congratulations OP. I love threads like this. I'm planning to start TTC number 3 in the summer around the time i turn 40. Not practical to start before but the wait is killing me with the uncertainty over how long it could take. Reading these positive stories is great x

Sunnierdays7 · 10/03/2022 08:13

Thank you @Gabby82 very exciting. Least you are organised. We just decided to try once and boom here I am. Still shocked. I have had a few loses so worrying.
Wishing you luck x

That's so good! I was lucky with my first two but just never know how long these things can take.

Always a worry in the early days but just take it easy and tick off those days to the 12 week scan one day at a time (the 8 week wait for that so much worse than the TTC two week wait!) . I'm sure everything will be fine.

X

Hi ladies! God the term 'geriatric' is just so heart destroying, isn't it 🤦‍♀️ can I join please? 👋

Sunnierdays7 · 10/03/2022 10:27

@Gabby82 hope it will happen soon for you. Stay in touch. Yes I think this wait is so much worse. Wishing days away. Just wish I could feel pregnant but then again I don’t want previous sickness x
@bunnykins123 of course you can the more the merrier. Yes I hate the term makes me feel like I’m 80 🤣

Hey ladies thought I'd join I'm 35 now and ttc for baby #2 (#1 for my DP) I had my mirena coil removed Monday night I had a little bleeding that night into the following morning, I've started what looks like a period I've had cramp since yesterday is this normal back story I've had the coil in since my DS was born he's now 12 last one was changed June 2019 tia xx

Thejoyfulstar · 10/03/2022 11:55

Congrats OP! That's amazing!
For anyone reading this thread, I conceived the little baby sleeping in my arms when I was 38 and had her when I was 39. She was conceived the 2nd month trying.

A poster on the board suggested taking Coenzymeq10 supplements. I immediately noticed a difference in the ovulation week of the second cycle trying, which was successful. I read research which also stated that having 90 days worth of the supplement in your system helps prevent chromosomal abnormalities as it helps everything split properly in the early days. I also saw some research saying that a diet high in plant sources was good for fertility. I honestly stuffed myself full of fruit and veg especially fatty one line avocado.

I thought it would take forever to happen but I really credit the q10 as I knew something was different the month I started taking it.

Thejoyfulstar · 10/03/2022 11:57

*fatty ones like avocado

Beachsidesunset · 10/03/2022 12:06

Hi everybody! Currently pregnant with my 4th at age 45 (had the others at 39, 40 and 43) If 35+ is geriatric then I'm practically archaeological!

Just awaiting the results of the Harmony test (had a low risk NHS result, but still worth double-checking at my age) so fingers crossed for that.

The chance of a natural conception was 3%, and the risk of miscarriage was 55%, so I'm feeling very blessed.

Baby dust to all 🙂

Sunnierdays7 · 10/03/2022 13:38

Hi there, I am so scared is miscarriage. I am so early and just praying baby sticks. Am 42. You are blessed 🙏🥰

@Sunnierdays7 are you able to get an early scan to put your mind at ease?

Excited101 · 10/03/2022 14:00

That’s a bit of a worry @Thejoyfulstar I’m taking the wellwoman preconception supplements but only for about 1 month so far, will that not be long enough??

Sunnierdays7 · 10/03/2022 14:23

Yes I could do. In past if I miscarry it’s before 6/7 weeks. If no miscarry I get very sick and pregnancy lasts.

OP posts:
Thejoyfulstar · 10/03/2022 14:28

@Excited101 i was only taking the q10 for 1 cycle and I got pregnant. My baby is 4 weeks old and just perfect 🥰 itß just always ideal to build give any supplements a longer chance to have an effect but the human race has been doing with without for many years. Dont worry! :-)

Excited101 · 10/03/2022 14:35

I worry about ‘problems’ more because of dp being 55 😔 apparently it’s more common. I’m very much assuming it would take a few months to happen anyway but I would feel so guilty if I had caused an issue by not taking them for longer beforehand!

That's fab, I'm currently dosing myself up on the supplements! Is there a Q10 brand you'd recommend in particular?
