Experienced Tempers please help me with my BBT

I’ve started tracking BBT this cycle and Im not sure if my temps are showing that I’ve ovulated yet or not.

Im on CD15 today and I potentially had my peak OPK yesterday CD14 around 19:30.

I’ve been taking my temps at the same time every morning and my pre-ovulation temps have been ranging between 36.26 and 36.29.

This morning I had a slight rise to 36.31 so if I take my lowest temp that’s only a rise of 0.05.

I read that after ovulation you should see atleast a rise of 0.3 - 0.5.

I also didn’t have any ovulation cramps and last cycle I had really strong cramps.

So my question really is have I not ovulated yet?

That very small rise that I've had today I assume that I can’t count that as post ovulation or can I?

Me again lol. Do you think this little temp dip today means anything?

My temps have stayed pretty stable usually like 36.64, 36.66, 36.68 and then yesterday (10dpo) I had a very slight rise to 36.71 and then today (11dpo) a very slight dip to 36.62.

I’m assuming that’s not much of a dip but it looks like a dip on my chart so unsure if this means AF is on the way or if it looks more than it is.

I’m on CD28 today. Usually my cycles are around 30 days but I had a short cycle last month (26 days) and FF thinks I’m having a 31 day cycle this month which means AF due on Thursday.

I’m going to test tomorrow at 12dpo I think if I’m brave enough lol 🤞🏼

Text book chart! Looks great! Some people don't get the implantation dip so wouldn't read in to that too much, environmental factors are always in the mix for temperature too - the overall pattern is what's important.

@SamuraiPizzaCats ok thank you! I’m still learning and I keep over analysing I think. Every small dip I think that’s AF coming lol. I think I expected that my temps would keep going on an upwards slope but learning that’s not necessarily the case.

Even a perfect chart doesn't mean pregnancy but it is very encouraging!! I can't show you any of my old ones as my subscription is paused but they were absolutely BANANAS. Got there in the end though - after 18months! Baby due any second now 😃

@Newbiemg it could be AF, it could be nothing! LP temps don't mean much once they've confirmed ovulation :)

Sorry if TMI. Yesterday afternoon I had some creamy cm that had a pink tinge because it had blood mixed into it. I then had a little watery pink blood so assumed AF was coming and expected a big temp drop this morning. Instead my temp actually rose slightly but still within the normal post-ovulation temps for me. Not a big rise. 36.72 today.

I did think perhaps Implantation but seems abit late at 12dpo and is making more sense to me that it’s AF on the way.

I haven’t had anymore bleeding yet so now just waiting to see if AF comes today or in the next few days and if my temps drop or stay up.

My hold off on testing and see what happens

@Newbiemg I have no chill so would definitely test at this point. Remember spotting is really common when pregnant so doesn't have to be implantation related at all. Fingers crossed for you and if you test to try to go with a pink dye test!

@Juno231 I might cave and test tonight after work or in the morning if AF doesn’t come in full flow. I haven’t had anything today yet.

When would I expect my bbt to drop if it was AF? On the first day of full flow?

My temperature drops before my period starts, on the day usually or day before. It's probably slightly different for everyone

@SamuraiPizzaCats Ok so perhaps mine hasn’t dropped yet as it’s just spotting but may before I get full flow if it is AF.

@Newbiemg it can drop several days into AF so it's not an accurate prediction of AF I'm afraid! It often does start dropping a couple of days before AF though, with a proper plummet the day AF shows.

I haven’t had anymore spotting and temp is still rising slightly so I will do a test today and then I should know either way 🤞🏼

Just a little final update. Unfortunately my AF arrived late morning yesterday. I didn’t see a temp drop before but this morning it dropped slightly to 36.59 so I’m assuming it will gradually keep going down now.

Onto cycle 4 and CD2 for me today.

It’s cycle 4 now for me and I’m on CD3 so fingers crossed for this cycle 🤞🏼

Weirdly my temp shot up today. The highest temp I’ve had so far 36.93 which is 0.3 degrees above my usual post ovulation temps. My AF is very heavy though so no mistaking it for anything else.

Have to just keep tracking and see what happens. That was my first month tracking temps so not sure of my pattern yet.

I’m attaching 2 photos of my charts.

Photo 1- is my last cycle chart before AF arrived and my new chart after AF arrived.

Photo 2- I took my AF out quickly so you could see all of my temps on one chart (CD30 here is actually CD1 of my new cycle). I thought it would be helpful to see all the temps together.

I’m a little confused why my temps are going up rather than down but there’s no mistaking I’ve got AF because of how heavy it is.

I’m going to have to wait until the end of this cycle and compare my two cycles to see if there’s a pattern.

Any thoughts welcome though

Early FP temps can be erratic but I would be tempted to rule out a pregnancy if I were you! You hear plenty of stories of women carrying in having periods when pregnant 🤷

I took a test yesterday to rule it out and bfn. AF finished today but my temps are still high. Today’s was 36.68 so stable with my post ovulation temps. Not quite sure why my temps are staying high but I will have to see what happens

Wanted to do a last update because I know I searched so many threads to find similar stories and it’s frustrating when theres no outcome.

As above took a test and bfn which was expected after a heavy normal period.

Temps have started to gradually the day after my AF ended as it’s the first time temping for me I don’t know if that will be a pattern but seems so far that my temp drop happens gradually starting the day after AF rather than before.

On to the next cycle for me and hopefully this is the one to give me my bfp 🤞🏼

Starting opks again tomorrow morning
