Hello ladies!

I’ve been reading these threads (at all hours clearly!) I just wondered if anyone was currently in their 2WW and wanted to join me? It’s so long!! I’m ttc number 2, have a 4 year old son, fell first time with him luckily so certainly not expecting the same this time round. This is our first cycle. I’m only using an app not any ovulation sticks so not sure how many days po I am, but According to app fertile window ended yesterday. AF due 21st I only have 24/25 day cycles since coming off my pill.

Anywhoo no symptoms yet as too early! I’ve had ovulation cramps and a few nights of very intense dreams. I think the only symptoms I can remember pre bfp with my son was really really sore boobs, couldn’t bare a bra on!! And really tired.

Please people join me to symptom spot and keep each other company during the 2WW.

Hey ladies, I've started charting my BBT a while ago and while AF always comes every 30 or 31 days, I'm not sure I'm ovulating.
The apps I use set my ovulation date based on temperature but I don't really have CM all the time.

I also use cheap ovulation tests and the digital Clearblue ones starting from cycle day 9 and they match the predicted ovulation day showing high peaks.

This is my chart now, during the fertile window we've only tried 2 days before said ovulation day because I wasn't feeling really well and I have zero symptoms.
Was nauseous and with a bit of ovary cramping this morning but it might have been because of a late and spicy dinner.

Are thriphasic charts a thing? Is anything a thing? I'm lost, I want to avoid another testing disappointment so I'll ways until the 1st (when AF should come. Hopefully my net AF is next autumn)

Hi ladies

@pinkpirlie well done on the weight loss, you’ve lost a lot and it’s a considerable achievement. No point stressing over time wasted as you’re getting there.

@ANP2020 I hope you’re feeling ok? Stress really does have a big role in hormones, looking back over my cycles I can see I tend to ovulate later when I’m super stressed. That’s so sweet your nan gave a name she likes, and would be a lovely way to remember her,

@Shaker21 Hope you’re okay and AF didn’t turn up?

@alexalexalex18 I am sorry I have absolutely no idea about bbt as have never temped. Guess it could go either way and hope AF didn’t turn up.

@Hjudge56 So glad all is going well. The anxiety will hopefully go away and sending all my best to you and little bean.

I am on cycle day 13 here so just gearing up to enter the fertile period. We’ve been consistently dtd every other day so will see what the month brings. I have definitely come to a point where I don’t put too much stress on the outcome of each cycle, and that’s really positive for my mental health! Had acupuncture again yesterday, it was quite relaxing.

pinkpirlie · 27/11/2022 11:48

Hi all,

I'm now CD 9 so will be starting to DTD from tomorrow EOE if we can manage that. It would be wonderful to get Christmas positives, although I'm not getting my hopes up. Like @Annapolis35 I'm definitely not working myself up each cycle, and that is helpful.

I've been in contact now with the acupuncturist and I'm booked to start in mid-January. She said she likes to do it weekly for the first cycle and then see where we go from there. She seems really lovely and helpful from her emails, so 🤞
It's £40 an hour which seems reasonable.

@alexalexalex18 I'm afraid I don't temp or do OPKs (although I think the acupuncturist may ask me to for a little bit from her email), so I can't help with your questions. But welcome to the chat.

How are everyone else?

LS888 · 27/11/2022 16:20

I’ve had my BFP this weekend too 🥰

Shaker21 · 27/11/2022 19:49

Hey girls. AF has arrived this afternoon which I was expecting so feeling ok ish about it. Just gonna get on with the month and enjoy the run up to Xmas. I'm not tracking or anything this month but will roughly know when I have ovulated from CM, ovulation pain and sore boobs a few days after so will roughly know when AF will be due next. According to my app it is predicting it 24th December so already going to just write this month off and think it won't happen to save the disappointment at Xmas time. I am really trying to lose some weight to see if that helps and before our fertility clinic appointment whenever that may be, have lost 8lb so far in the past 2 weeks so trying to concentrate on that also up until Xmas. X

Annapolis35 · 28/11/2022 07:22

@Shaker21 sorry to hear AF arrived but glad you are feeling well. Yeah December is a good month to relax and there’s so much going on that the time seems to fly by! Well done on the weight loss as well, 8 pounds is a lot to lose in two weeks! I’ve just entered my fertile period going by the cb sticks, but we will just continue every other day (mostly due to our work schedule) and see how it goes. Either way, December will be a nice month with lots going on and I have always loved the run up to Christmas!

pinkpirlie · 28/11/2022 10:42

@Shaker21 sorry AF arrived, hugs.

Wow though - 8lbs is amazing. You'll have to tell me your secrets. It's so hard to lose weight, so that's a real achievement.

I've lost 1kg this week but I am now under 100kg!!!
Just 13kg to go to get BMI down to 29.
The loss has slowed a bit after the initial chunk of bloat that came off, but I am still being good and 98% clean (I had a few (maybe 5) fries over the weekend) with everything and if I can lose 1kg a week over the next 13 weeks I will at my goal by the end of February. Keeping it up over Christmas isn't going to be easy though.

@Annapolis35 enjoy the run up to Christmas - I love it too. I'm really hoping next year will be one with a baby (although I did think this year would be like that and it hasn't turned out that way).

ANP2020 · 29/11/2022 17:59

Hello guys!

are we all ok? Had my 2nd lot of acupuncture today and feel super chilled! She did the electro acupuncture again and also had quite a lot in my head as I said I haven’t been sleeping very well and a bit anxious since my Nan passing so we’ll see.

im cd 15 so just plodding on but have come to terms with the fact it’s very unlikely to happy this year! To be honest I’m quite ready for the excitement of a new year and hope it brings!! But for now I’m looking forward to Christmas build up! Going to get the tree up this weekend. And hopefully next year we’ll all have babies!!

Welldone in the weightloss guys! X

Hey @ANP2020 glad the acupuncture is helping, especially with the loss as that’s a lot to go through. I have acupuncture next week again, I did find it very relaxing and definitely felt myself sinking into the bed when the needles were in!

I am similar to you, on cycle day 16 so also just plodding along. I have been a bit stressed as our house sale was supposed to complete today but it’s been delayed and it’s doing my head in. Once that is done it will be a huge weight gone and I never feel like I can totally relax as it’s always a slight stress at the back of my mind! That’s definitely not helping with ttc I know, but there’s little I can do to resolve it really. Ah well, hopefully just a few more days!

i know what you mean about the new year! It’s a nice feeling and 2022 has been a tough year so I’ll be happy to see the back of it.

ANP2020 · 06/12/2022 12:21

@Annapolis35 sorry for the late reply for some reason I didn’t see this and just thought I’d log on to check how everyone is!

any update on the house? It’s honestly so stressful isn’t it! Glad you’re finding the acupuncture relaxing too! I find myself looking forward to the sessions which I didn’t think I would! I’m heading there again today! I can’t say much about fertility from it but she’s certainly helped with some of the feelings I’d been having since losing my Nan! I was having really vivid dreams some Nan was in some not but all revolving around helping people and me not been able to! They were waking me up and leaving me exhausted through the day! I told her and she did something or other for it and to be fair they have stopped!

so I’m cd 22 today! And yesterday I had really bad cramps! So bad I was convinced AF was coming just really heavy! I was sure I’d wake up this morning and AF would be here! But nothing yet! I mean it would be very early! But nothing is impossible it arrived at CD 24 last month I think due to the stress! Anyway no more cramps or anything today so I’m thinking likely just one of the random things I can attribute to having happened to me in the 2WW think I’ve had them all now 🤣🤣

I for some reason don’t feel hopeful this month, it’s my Xmas doo on Friday and AF due Monday! I’m can’t decide wether to test on Friday and just have to deal with the disappointment baring in mind I’m meeting a pregnant friend for coffee that morning or just take the risk knowing it’s likely to be a BFN!!!

hows everyone else?

Hi girls,

@Hjudge56 I hope everything is still going well, how are things?

@pinkpirlie I have no secrets on the weight loss unfortunately, have just been calorie counting on an app but it seems to be doing the trick, I am being quite strict at the moment to get myself in a bit of a roll with it and then will allow myself some nice treats especially leading up to xmas. I have now done 11lbs and into the next stone bracket down so feeling good about it all. How are you getting on? Well done on getting under the 100kg that you wanted to do!

@Annapolis35 How is things going with the house? Have you completed now? You are cycle day 22 day? Have you been tracking ovulation this month and know when it happened and how many DPO you are?

@ANP2020 I am so glad the acupuncture at least seems to be working with other parts of your life and how nice that you have that to help at such a difficult time as well. Crazy how she managed to do something to help with the dreams. I think if i was in your situation i would potentially test on Friday if AF hasn't arrived just to be on the safe side. I think I would feel worse if I drank and then got the BFP and feel guilty about it than I would getting the negative test.

I am CD 10 today so just coming into fertile window for this month. I think the last I had said was that the referral had been done but that was a 3-4 weeks ago now. Last Tuesday I felt really frustrated and in limbo that I didn't know when or if i would hear from them any time soon with an appointment date. I managed to have a call around the 2 hospitals I thought the referral would go to near me and found the one that had it. The lady on the phone said that it was waiting to be signed off by the consultant, we would then hear about an appointment 3-4 weeks before the appointment in the post but to be aware that the wait time at the moment is about 8-9 months. So I basically then went into melt down at the thought of having to wait that long and to potentially just be in the same situation as we are now in a years time with the amount of tests we have done and would have to re-do. So anyway, long story short I managed to get into a private hospital near me for a consultation with a fertility consultant last Saturday morning. The appointment went really well, I cried happy tears once we left the appointment. He didn't agree with my GP saying my progesterone was ok. He said it shows I ovulated but isn't high enough for it to be a good quality egg, he has now prescribed me Letrozole to take CD2-6 of my next cycle and to then book in for a day 21 blood test of that cycle to see what my progesterone is after the Letrozole. I am only on the lowest dose of 2.5mg because he said it would take much seeing as I ovulate on my own anyway.

Sorry for the essay but yeah I feel so much better about everything now we seem to have a plan in place.

xx

Hjudge56 · 06/12/2022 13:19

@Shaker21 all good my end thank you! I’ve got a private scan tomorrow which should be around the 7 week mark but maybe just under! Interestingly, I had a private scan at what I thought was 6+1 according to the first day of my last period however they thought I was just over 5 weeks! They saw the gestational sac and the yolk sac but couldn’t see the embryo or heartbeat because I was too early! Hopefully tomorrow I will see the heartbeat! Will keep you updated!

how are you getting on?

ANP2020 · 06/12/2022 13:39

@Shaker21 wow!! That’s so
exciting!! I have so
many questions! So i agree with the wait been really long mine is 41 weeks! They got the referral in August, I’ve not heard a peep
Barring a consent form for partners records!

I still need to lose a bit more weight but in the new year would be tempted to do what you’ve done actually! But everytime I search fertility consultants in my area it just comes up with IVF clinics! How did you find someone!!

I bet you really feel like things are moving a bit now!! I have everything crossed for you!!

@Hjudge56 so exciting!! Update us tomorrow

OP posts:
Shaker21 · 06/12/2022 13:49

@Hjudge56 I am glad everything is going good. I hope tomorrow goes well. Keep us updated how you get on.

@ANP2020 Yeah I struggled with that when I was searching online and everything was just IVF clinics for private. I don't know how I stumbled across it, I don't know if i googled 'Fertility consulation' or 'fertility tests' and other stuff started coming up. We are actually really lucky that the place is only about 5-10 minutes from our house so really local. It is called Spire Hospital, I don't know where you are based but there is a few locations in the south east but not sure about anywhere else. I had also thought the same about losing weight before hand but honestly he didn't mention anything to do with weight being a factor, all he mentioned was to keep trying to lose weight to get it down as much as possible for a pre pregnancy weight. I would definitely recommend doing it rather than waiting.

Annapolis35 · 06/12/2022 14:59

Hi ladies

The house sale still hasn’t completed due to total incompetence on part of the buyers lender. I had a bit of a break down today as it all feels a bit too much as well as TTC - I felt so hopeless and I sort of know in my gut I’m not preg this month. I am only 3dpo but I just feel like I knot it. I said to my oh that I just can’t keep doing this anymore, he said we have to keep trying. I just feel like I’ve tried everything—vitamins, yoga, reducing exercise, regular exercise, and even acupuncture. It’s just so hard to keep on going month on month you know. Husband said we should just pay and get private tests.

@Shaker21 I am so glad you managed to see a consultant and they were helpful. Did they do any other tests or just use your nhs ones?

@Hjudge56 glad things are going well. It’s still early yet and you may have ovulated later so the date will be slightly different. Hope the scan goes well.

@ANP2020 hope you’re doing ok and glad acupuncture is helping you!

Shaker21 · 06/12/2022 15:15

@Annapolis35 Oh god that is so frustrating about the house. Do you know how much longer until it will complete? Yeah it is so tiring and frustrating as the months go on, I have been really struggling the last month or so with it all and that's without anything else going on in my life like you have got. They didn't do any other tests, luckily I took all of my NHS results along with us and they looked over all of them. We was in there 25 minutes at most and came out with the prescription that we could get from any chemist for Letrozole and paperwork to book in day 21 bloods. He will then email me with the results of them and will go from there if I just stay on 2.5mg if it has done enough or if I then up it to 5mg the month after so feel like we have a plan up until end of Feb at least. He has said at that point if still nothing then we can go ahead and have a HSG done with him to check tubes and then go from there carry on with Letrozole if my tubes are all ok. I would definitely recommend looking into it private.

Annapolis35 · 06/12/2022 15:26

That sounds really positive @Shaker21 and I think we are definitely going to aim to do that once this house sale completes and we have a bit of cash to spend. I am getting my day 21 bloods on Friday so will have some to take with me to a private clinic. My oh is waiting for referral for sperm analysis. What did yours say? I am in Scotland so we don’t have the nhs app so feel it will be even difficult to get them to tell me the number or what it means.

Completion could be any day really… we are just waiting for the lender to sign it off but they just keep on asking for more documents from the buyer - things they could and should’ve asked for months ago. I lost it at my solicitor today and asked her to ask her if they’re incompetent lol. I know she won’t, but it’s really hard going. I know the buyer is living in a hotel at the mo too which is just ridiculous and it’s coming up so close to Christmas and it would be so nice for the buyer to be in and for us to be able to relax and not think about it. Anyway this stress is definitely not helping it all!

Shaker21 · 06/12/2022 20:07

@Annapolis35 I can't remember exactly what he said about the sperm analysis, I think morphology was a lot higher than they class as normal, another part of it was good and one part on the lower end but he said that wasn't an issue as the other 2 counter balanced it so wouldn't be any issue with natural conception. It'll be good that you can have your bloods and his SA ready for if you have a private fertility appointment to then save money on any tests you can skip paying for. Have you had a pelvic scan/ultrasound done?

Annapolis35 · 06/12/2022 20:21

Thanks @Shaker21 i wondered about progesterone too? No I haven’t had a pelvic ultrasound yet - I think they said they’re only gonna do the bloods and SA before referral, but it might be different in Scotland. I don’t know when the SA is as they said they’re referring it so I guess it could be a while. Either way we will just plod along with the private probably. It’s just irritating as I did get pregnant in February on the second cycle of trying and can’t figure out now why it’s taking so long. Your mind really goes to the worst places and it’s not helpful. I think I just need a nice long sleep tonight. You’ve been so helpful!

Shaker21 · 06/12/2022 20:30

@Annapolis35 my progesterone was 19 first set of bloods and the 2nd month tested it was 32. I think they said anything over 10 confirmed ovulation but the fertility consultant on Saturday said they like to see over 35 so I think that's the egg quality and amount of progesterone it then produces after ovulation. It's crazy how much stuff you don't even realise needs to all line up for it to happen. You'll have to let us know how your blood results are when you get them back. 🙂

Annapolis35 · 06/12/2022 21:46

That’s really good to know @Shaker21 thank you. It helps a lot to have some knowledge about it. I will let you know once week when I hear back - either way it’ll be good to know where I stand. I only tracked this month so I could know about the blood test and when to go - it will be 6dpo so hopefully that’s ok. 7 fell over the weekend so not possible unfortunately.

have any of you seen that the new Apple Watch tracks BBT? I was considering it

Shaker21 · 07/12/2022 10:43

@Annapolis35 Yeah I am sure having it done at 6DPO is fine. The consultant said if my day 21 fell on a Sunday then doing it Saturday or Monday was fine. Yeah I had seen them and that they do that now...can imagine they are quite expensive though?

Annapolis35 · 07/12/2022 11:29

@Shaker21 Thank you! Yeah very expensive… I only thought of getting one as my dad gets these points from his work that you can then buy stuff on, so it would essentially be free for me if I did it that way. Though he might want to get other stuff for himself or for my mum. It’s a maybe, I wouldn’t spend the money on it as it’s just too expensive

ANP2020 · 08/12/2022 08:36

Hello everyone!

well 10dpo (if I’ve ovulated) and did a test this am and got a BFN! I have squinted and over analysed it after thinking I could see the faintest of lines (u know the one… where your hanging upside down to get just the right angle, with loads of flash over it) I have finally thrown it away coming to terms with it is as negative as they come!

oh why guys! Why oh why oh why? Why couldn’t it have just been positive! Well onto cycle god knows what I’ve stopped counting! I really feel you @Annapolis35 i feel as though I have tried every natural thing under the sun! Sorry to offload my rant but it’s so disheartening!

OP posts:
pinkpirlie · 08/12/2022 10:54

Hey everyone

Sorry for the silence. I went away for a long weekend and there was literally no signal anywhere. Which was quite nice in itself, but catching up on all the messages.

@Shaker21 amazing on the referral to the clinic. Is that through your NHS referral, or have you had to pay? It's amazing you just got straight in and helped right away.
My doctor said I needed a result over 30 iirc on the test, but like you I keep seeing and hearing conflicting information.

@Annapolis35 your frustrations are so evident in your messages. I hope you're doing okay, and big hugs for all the stresses you really didn't need. I hope it all gets sorted finally and you will be soon relaxing in your new home.

@ANP2020 sorry about the BFN, every month it's heartbreaking. When you feel like you've tried everything it is just so frustrating.

I am now CD20, no PMS symptoms yet.
I managed to speak with my doctor on Monday and I'm getting a progesterone test tomorrow too (@Annapolis35 we are test buddies!) That's the only blood test I haven't had.
I called the fertility doctor I saw last December and left a message several times now but no one has called back, so I'm feeling a bit defeated about that.
My BMI is still 33 so way too high for IVF on the NHS, but I would still like to have some thought put into why it's not happening naturally.
Despite going away and eating clean being a lot harder, I came back 0.6kg (1.3lbs) lighter (now 98.8) so I'm really pleased about that. I need to be about 86/87kg for IVF so goal is 1kg a week but I know not every week will be achievable. My birthday (age cutoff for IVF) is July so I'm aiming to reach goal by Feb/March.
Looking forward to starting my accupuncture in January too, hopefully that will help.
We have decided that we will investigate private IVF for one cycle if the NHS doesn't work/falls through. But this is all we will be able to afford. After that we will just accept that we won't be parents, which is something I just don't want to think about.
