Hello ladies!

I’ve been reading these threads (at all hours clearly!) I just wondered if anyone was currently in their 2WW and wanted to join me? It’s so long!! I’m ttc number 2, have a 4 year old son, fell first time with him luckily so certainly not expecting the same this time round. This is our first cycle. I’m only using an app not any ovulation sticks so not sure how many days po I am, but According to app fertile window ended yesterday. AF due 21st I only have 24/25 day cycles since coming off my pill.

Anywhoo no symptoms yet as too early! I’ve had ovulation cramps and a few nights of very intense dreams. I think the only symptoms I can remember pre bfp with my son was really really sore boobs, couldn’t bare a bra on!! And really tired.

Please people join me to symptom spot and keep each other company during the 2WW.

@pinkpirlie Ive read loads of stories online of people getting colds or bugs then getting a bfp too but I’m trying to keep realistic and not get my hopes up too. Have you already been through your gp? The full bloods sounds wise. And that is sensible about taking a FREE prior to a spa trip, and the spa trip will be nice and relaxing for you too. I hate this two week wait, it feels like life is just broken down into two-week chunks now

pinkpirlie · 21/09/2022 07:10

@Annapolis35 fingers crossed for you - hope you're feeling better now. Sickness bugs are so hard to recover from.

Well it was a BFN for me today - couldn't have been any clearer there was no second line and I think I'm close enough to the end of my cycle (due Saturday) to have got something on an FRER. So onto next month for us now and I can go to the spa today relaxed and enjoy my holiday (less the horrific period pains) with a few drinks now.

I completely agree re the breaking life into weeks. After two years of trying now it's getting very boring.

Annapolis35 · 21/09/2022 07:40

I’m sorry for the bfn @pinkpirlie it really is very demoralizing. But at least on the positive side you can enjoy your holiday.

I was thinking next month if AF arrives (I’m certain it will as it feels like it), I will stop tracking completely and take off my Fitbit (I monitor my rhr as a sign of preg and ovulation) and just dtd every other day to try and switch off from the two-week chunks. I found a nice yoga yesterday to help get through this wait, her name is Bettina Rae on YouTube. It’s very gentle and helped me centre myself

pinkpirlie · 21/09/2022 08:08

Thanks @Annapolis35 for your words.
The yoga sounds wonderful, will check her out. I was doing Yoga with Adriene before which I enjoyed.

As you know I don't usually test until I'm we overdue, and knowing I was testing today I couldn't sleep, was anxious, etc. all night knowing I planned to test today.
I know why I have tested early today and it's for good reason, but I am definitely going back to my usual approach.

I also did temps and ovulation this month after the CP in case my cycle was squiffy, but I do think I'm back to normal again so I'm stopping that too.
The EOD approach is much more relaxed. The month we had the only positive (albeit CP) in two years of trying, we only DTD 8 (for fun), 14, 16 and 19.

Someone told me the best thing you can do to conceive is be relaxed.
So going to enjoy my holiday visiting friends I haven't seen in many years and my partner is staying home so is going to watch all the cartoons (complete geek!) he doesn't get to watch when I'm home. Hopefully after that we will be relaxed and excited to see each other after 10 days apart.

Annapolis35 · 21/09/2022 08:37

@pinkpirlie I understand, and the same reason I don’t early test too. You had good reason to test as you want to stay on the safe side. It feels better in my mind to get AF rather than test every single day and squinting for lines; seems like a bad move for mental health and also a waste of money.

I think going on holiday with your friend will be wonderful, you’ll get to properly catch up and your partner sounds a lot like my husband—he’s happiest on the sofa watching cartoons late at night too! I think the relaxed approach is the way forward and I know I will think about things during the two week wait but hopefully it will lessen the intensity a bit.

I also do Adriene videos as well, I’m a bit nervous about doing yoga in public as I fall over and lose my balance quite a lot haha. Yeah the Bettina videos are really lovely, they actually made me cry and I think it was just a release of emotions and letting myself feel. She said that all of this is a lot and it really is, it’s so hard every month and it felt like a release to have someone acknowledge that.

Annapolis35 · 24/09/2022 08:43

Hi all hope you’re all ok? My period arrived today as expected. It looks like my cycles are getting back to pre miscarriage length which is a good thing, I’m positive and glad that my body is working

pinkpirlie · 24/09/2022 11:27

Sorry to hear @Annapolis35
Mine came yesterday too.

Onto the next cycle :)

Annapolis35 · 27/09/2022 12:35

Indeed @pinkpirlie hope you’re alright. I felt ok about period coming this month. On day 4 now and feeling alright. Another month here we go!! Haha. We are going to Thailand at the end of month so getting excited for that

chillybandits · 27/09/2022 12:57

Back again this month Grin

My cycles are always 28 days (AF usually starts on day 27 or 28) but today is CD29 and still no sign. I've tested 5 times, starting from CD20/8dpo and most recent test was this morning. All BFN! I'm going crazy!

Anyone else still waiting to test/for AF? xx

pinkpirlie · 27/09/2022 13:07

Amazing @Annapolis35 have a wonderful time - will be a really relaxing break - maybe just what you need.

I was expecting it to be so as it felt like for sure AF was coming many days before.

How's everyone else doing?

Shaker21 · 27/09/2022 16:20

Hi girls!

How is everyone?

I am currently 8DPO and AF due Sunday if my usual 12DPO luteal phase is the same as usual. I normally would get sore boobs from about 3DPO until just before AF starts but haven't had any sore boobs this cycle yet, they are feeling a bit tender today so may be the start of them but is different to all my other months so that's a weird one. Other than that haven't had anything else, had a bit of achiness last night for about 10 minutes but currently feeling like AF will show by the end of the week. Next cycle will be cycle 10. I am feeling a lot more...not bothered...(if that's the right word) with the whole TTC at the moment, not feeling any particular way about it, it is so exhausting sometimes it always being on your mind, figuring out what every twinge is and then for it to just be AF every month anyway, just feel a bit over it all. Have been a few months now of watching what i eat, exercising, not drinking any alcohol, taking the vitamins and it doesn't seem to have made any difference so finding it hard to not give up with all of that, have been allowing myself some alcohol and a few nights and hens/weddings of just enjoying myself. Just putting life on hold is becoming really hard.

Sorry to hear AF showed up for @Annapolis35 and @pinkpirlie and AF not arriving for others and waiting for that BFP. I hope one or the other comes soon so you aren't in limbo @chillybandits

Annapolis35 · 27/09/2022 18:32

Yep absolutely know how you feel @Shaker21 I think the key is to carry on enjoying your life and having the odd drink, it is stressful enough without having small pleasures! I know how you feel about not bothered. I’m taking this month as it comes too, and think it’s much better than getting hopes up that this will be the month.

@pinkpirlie Yep! Can’t wait, about a month left to go and think a holiday is just the trick. I felt the same with AF last month too, knew it was coming so didn’t get hopes up.

ANP2020 · 06/10/2022 23:39

Hello guys! I hope your all ok?? Just been having a read to catch up on everything!

so it’s been a bit of a whirlwind for me and I can’t remember what I’d last told you guys! But I have taken a few months away form
ttc!

I finally went to the drs as you all suggested she has referred me into the fertility clinic but she did the usual bloods! All ok except progesterone really low at 16mmols (should be over 30 to confirm ovulation) so I’m not ovulating! I asked if she’d repeat it a bit later in my cycle as I was sure I was ovulating later around cd19 but she said no as she’d already referred me in.

so I paid for a private progesterone test did it later to go with my theory of cd19 been ovulation day and it came back at 6!!! So that Dr said most likely not ovulated! But light at the end of the tunnel is that I’m on the wait list to see fertility and the most treatable thing (according to google) is not ovulating… until the fertility clinic rang to update me on my appointment anticipated wait time…41 weeks!! 41 weeks before I can be seen so that takes us to around April from the time the referral went in!

I’ve also had a scan which showed everything was ok and no PCOS signs! So I’ve decided to try and take things into my own hands! I’ve lost 10% of my body weight in a hope that that may kick start ovulation (I have a fair
few stone to lose so weight could be stopping ovulation).

so im cautiously back this month… going to start trying tomorrow currently CD12. I’m going into this thinking I’m still not ovulating so no early tests I’m just going to wait it out. I’ve also ordered another progesterone test to do on CD 21 to see if the weightloss has helped.

on a side note the little tests are fab, it’s a pinprick finger test squeeze some blood in the tube they give you and then you post it! Then the results are with you in a few days!

@ANP2020
So lovely to hear back from you and get an update.
Sounds like you have really made some progress with understanding your journey these past few months. I hope you are more generally keeping well, and enjoying life in spite of fertility battles.

Re the not ovulating... Do you still get your period monthly? I never get high readings on OPKs and with zero understanding of what these are telling me my mind has been wondering if this means no ovulation. In 2 years I have had one CP I'm not sure if this is a sign I may not be ovulating consistently.
None of the tests my fertility doctor did tested for this and I haven't been asked back since I did my scans, etc in the first part of the year.
I need to lose 15kg to get my BMI low enough be eligible for IVF. I also only have 6 months left until I am too old, and all I seem to be able to do is gain weight!
Where did you get the progesterone tests from? Are they affordable?

I'm CD15 today, only managed DTD once so far as DP and me have both been feeling poorly and so exhausted.

How's everyone else doing?

@chillybandits

ANP2020 · 07/10/2022 07:46

Hi @pinkpirlie thankyou! Yes I’m keeping well thanks, surprisingly stopping trying was a little bit of a welcome relief! Just to stop obsessing and constantly googling things 24/7! I’m hoping this time to not overthink as much but that’s not easy!

so I do get my period monthly, 28 days every month to the tee! And I’ve had positive OPKs but all OPKs do is show your bodies gearing up to ovulate not that it deffo releases the egg! All frustrating because everything was so regular I thought everything was ok! The only thing was my OPKs were late getting a positive so I thought I maybe had a luteal phase defect but never thought I wouldn’t be ovulating.

are u in the UK? It was affordable for me about £39 for the test. U could just check with your Dr if they did a progesterone test, it’s the only blood test that will confirm ovulation as far as I know unless the confirmed it on a scan? So it’s surprising if they didn’t do it!

im not sure if I list the company if that breaks some forum rules. But if you google home progesterone fertility test should come up with some options local to you. Mine came with a drs review of bloods and message. Hope that helps!

Hi @pinkpirlie and welcome back! I’m glad you’re feeling more grounded and a bit better. Though I am sorry to hear you’re not ovulating and I hope the referral time is shorter than 41 weeks!! At least you have a bit of clarity and that sounds treatable. Can they give you clonid from the gp or does the hospital have to refer for that?

I am currently cd 14 and in my fertile period. It seems to have come forward this month, think it may be a combo of more yoga, less intense exercise and possibly omega 3, which I started taking this month. Hoping that means peak will be soon. We started dtd on day 12 and will again over next few days. Just pottering along as usual and feel okay that it hasn’t happened, it will happen when it’s meant to!

Annapolis35 · 07/10/2022 08:46

Oops sorry meant to tag @ANP2020 but also hope @pinkpirlie is doing well!!! Friday, need another coffee

Shaker21 · 09/10/2022 19:05

Hey @ANP2020 @Annapolis35 and @pinkpirlie!

Glad go see you back @ANP2020! You should definitely look into doing your temperature...it can confirm ovulation. I sometimes just do my BBT and no OPKs so I'm not overly stressing about getting the peak and BD the right times and stuff but still then know I have ovulated and roughly when. Definitely is worth you trying if you want another way to confirm if you do ovulate in the month!

ANP2020 · 10/10/2022 11:11

@Annapolis35 thankyou! I too hope it’s less that 41 weeks although I’m not hopeful! It is making me feel calmer knowing it’s in the pipeline though! I can’t get clomid through GP but has to go through the fertility clinics. BUt I’m so hopeful my healthier lifestyle might just help it along naturally!

You sound In a really good place! I do find Yoga helps loads! Hope you’ve just been enjoying dtd and going with the flow! I’m cd 16 now and OPKs look pretty near peak so we’ve dtd on cd 13 and CD 15 guess we’ll just see, just doing every other day atm.

ANP2020 · 10/10/2022 11:13

Hi @Shaker21 thanks for this, I have tried before but can never manage a full month 🤦🏽‍♀️ I work shifts so then need to remember to set and alarm to do it at the same time! But the worst thing is I wee a lot overnight so always end up getting up for a wee and then realise I’ve forgotten to do it before moving 🤣 I have seen those wrist ones you can wear but they’re a couple of hundred pounds so holding off at the moment.

OP posts:
Annapolis35 · 10/10/2022 14:58

@ANP2020 I won’t lie, it’s taken me a while and lots of crying and disappointment to get to a good place!! The yoga has definitely helped. I also read about this philosophical concept called amor fati, which means love your fate and to embrace the ups and downs. Have a wee look on Wikipedia, It’s helped me feel a bit more centered. I was a crazy lady a few months ago haha. Now I feel a lot more like if it doesn’t happen this month, it’s ok, and I know I will be ok.

41 weeks is a ridiculous time to wait! I am glad it has helped you chill though, knowing that’s in the pipeline. I got a peak yesterday so we’ve been at it. So tomorrow will be in the 2ww once again!

@shaker Hope you’re doing alright as well.

Shaker21 · 10/10/2022 16:20

Ahh yeah that doesn't help with BBT @ANP2020 if your sleep pattern is all over the place. That is such a shame, I find it really useful doing it to understand my cycle that bit more. A couple of hundred on the wrist one is a lot of money. I know some people have said that their heart rate has helped them know if they ovulated I think so that may be another thing to look in to as I can imagine just a fit bit or something is a lot cheaper to be able to keep an eye on your heart rate maybe?

Doing all ok thanks @Annapolis35, just coming into fertile period so will soon be over by end of the week and back into the TWW. Just plodding along at this point and going to try not thinking about it too much over next few weeks and try really hard to try and not be a mess when AF arrives like I was last month.

Annapolis35 · 10/10/2022 17:00

Aw I’m so sorry to hear that @Shaker21 its so hard going and relentless. Feel free to vent on here! Yes on the Fitbit point, mine follows a pattern and I know when my period is going to arrive from it. It also showed me I was pregnant too.

ANP2020 · 13/10/2022 20:39

@Annapolis35 i understand it really is horrible isn’t it! I still have that thing of where everyone around me seems to be popping up pregnant but I’m just trying to remain positive and content with it’ll happen when it’s meant to! But sometimes I have to pull y self into check! I’ve not heard of that concept I’ll have a google!

@Shaker21 ive not heard that about heart rate what is your heart rate supposed to do? I know what you mean on AF day even if you try to plod on you can’t help just having a meh day! Especially as sometimes mine will make me wait in hope till like 22:00 before arriving but will always arrive!

so today I’m CD 19 who knows if I ovulated or not? But I’ve had more EwCm than ever on cd12-15 roughly so you never know! But I’ve had the strangest day and desperately trying not to over think or analyse but Around 11:00 I got AF like cramps not to any particular side just generalised! Then I went for a wee and had pale pink CM not loads but enough to notice, this continued for every wee (which is a lot because I have an overactive bladder) until around 15:30. No more cramps or CM since! How weird I’ve had blood once before sure I spoke of it on here but it was fresh blood and a bit later on but I can’t remember!

anyway I’ve sworn off tests and I’m just going to wait for AF so we’ll see next week! I’m meant to send that progesterone test off on Saturday which would be day 21 but Royal Mail are striking so think I’ll send it Monday on day 23

are we all in the 2WW now?? X

Morning @ANP2020 I totally get it about pregnancy announcements and I’m trying so hard not to become a bitter person. It is tough though. That spotting sounds interesting, you don’t normally get it? Could be a good sign.

on the heart rate point, I have shown a couple of photos of what happens with o date marked up. In August you can see my heart rate rises before ovulation, then goes up again after ovulation, then drops when my period is going to come. This is the standard pattern each month. February is the month I got pregnant and it stayed elevated when my period was due.

I’m 4dpo (around same as you maybe) and this month my heart rate has dropped after ovulation so I’m wondering if I have even ovulated. Ahhhhh it’s so much to think about! I find the Fitbit helpful for knowing when my period is coming as my heart rate always drops a couple of days before so I never bother taking early tests.

I feel pretty normal so far and have no symptoms. Trying hard to not over analyze everything this month
