Hi Everyone,

I thought I’d start a new thread for February following the January one.

About to start month 4 of TTC after a MC last month.

The months seem so long with a TWW thrown in but then I also can’t believe I’m about to start cycle 4! (I know that isn’t a long time for some of us and that makes me feel sad, TTC is so unfair at times)

Anyway, feel free to join if you’d like to get through February together! X

Happy birthday @oldermam enjoy your day 🎉🎉

arianasky · 21/01/2022 10:00

I had a dream I was pregnant last night then thought what if I ovulated earlier than when I started testing and I could be like 10dpo and I took a cheapie test obv negative as I know I haven't ovulated 🙈 I'm going crazy I swear haha!

Tinkerbell098 · 21/01/2022 10:12

@oldermam happy 40th!! Hope you're having a lovely day at the hotel and enjoy your dinner. Also hope AF stays away for you xx

Natalie2304 · 21/01/2022 10:15

@oldermam Huge Happy Birthday! Enjoy your weekend!

CD8 here for me and full of cold! Hopefully will pass before start of fertile week which should be around Tuesday. Still managing to DTD every other day and hoping to continue to do so 🤞🏻

ladybuggoldfinch · 21/01/2022 10:52

Happy birthday @oldermam welcome to the 4th floor 🎉

Worryant · 21/01/2022 11:28

Happy Birthday @oldermam !! 🥳 Have a great day.

Decaffe · 21/01/2022 11:58

Thanks for the good wishes @oldermam and @kizzy97. We are still going through all the tests which will probably take another month due to certain procedures only being able to be done on certain days of the month. For now we are just going to keep on plodding on maybe we will get lucky. Currently awaiting DH’s second sperm sample results. His first one was in September, all was good but only 2% morphology (normal shaped sperm). However the good volume and motility balanced that out. He’s been on all sorts of supplements since then. I’m praying the morphology hasn’t gone down further.

I have started taking Ubiquinol this week which apparently helps with egg quality. I have also started taking high strength Vitamin C after reading some encouraging threads on here. I think that brings me up to six pills (supplements) a day now! Shake me and I’ll rattle!

CD8 here, due to ovulate next Tues/Weds. TTC last night and planning on tomorrow then every other day into next week.

Best of luck all 🍀

Decaffe · 21/01/2022 11:59

Oh and happy birthday! 🎂

Worryant · 21/01/2022 12:19

Quick question. I’m really new to all this. Do you DTD every other day or step it up to every day around ovulation day?
Love I am asking you all questions I’m too nervous to broach with real life friends. Thank you lovely women 😘

MummyMe87 · 21/01/2022 12:34

@Worryant everyone does different things and there’s no right or wrong. There’s different methods/patterns people follow. But I mean really, it only takes one little sperm at some stage around ovulation. DTD regularly and have fun I think is the answer really.
When I had my ectopic I D2D once and was fairly sure it wasn’t FW…

Bundaberg84 · 21/01/2022 12:40

@Worryant we DTD three times in the fertile week when we got our first BFP, and did SMEP with the second. Unfortunately both weren't sticky ones.
There are theories that every other day is supposed to be better as it will leave time for sperm to build quality. But basically do what's best for you. I'm more of a quality-over-quantity DTD person so every day for over a week is exhausting for me :)

Purple29 · 21/01/2022 12:45

@oldermam happy 40th birthday!!! Enjoy your day.

@Curlywurly3 when drinking in the tww I always let myself have a glass or 2 if I'm going out or that. Always made me feel better knowing that if I had conceived then the baby lives off the yolk for the first 6 weeks or so till the placenta develops.

DancinOnTheCeiling · 21/01/2022 12:46

@ladybuggoldfinch

Happy birthday *@oldermam* welcome to the 4th floor 🎉
Haha I love the fourth floor thing 🤣🤣. I too live on the fourth floor, turning 41 soon 😳.
DancinOnTheCeiling · 21/01/2022 12:49

@Worryant I agree with PP there is no right answer. I would say whatever is the most enjoyable/least stressful. We’re TTC #2 (on month 5), up until now we pretty much DTD daily in the fertile window but since this hasn’t worked we’ve tried every other day this cycle (don’t know if that’s worked yet). Other people fall pregnant having only DTD once so there is no right or wrong. Good luck xx

Worryant · 21/01/2022 13:18

Thanks everyone. I think there can be such a thing as too much researching on my part as I tend to err on that side! I think I’ll try and go with the flow a bit and see what happens. X

ladybuggoldfinch · 21/01/2022 13:35

@DancinOnTheCeiling me too in March! It's so good to know there are many 4th floorers on the baby journey!

AmberRH1993 · 21/01/2022 13:48

Afternoon ladies - I need some advice...

I tested positive for Hpv last year and now again for the 2nd time in a row. My colposcopy biopsy came back clear but they offered a Large Loop Excision where they remove the area of affected cells from your cervix.
At the time I decided against it as I wanted to try for another baby and heard that it can weaken the cervix and increase chances of miscarriages and premature labour.
We are now actively trying for baby #2 and I have my colposcopy booked for next week but not sure whether to go for the removal or not?

Id love some advice please on what you would do or if you have done this 😊

kizzy97 · 21/01/2022 14:13

Just sat and had a cry and bit of an anxious moment (bit delayed, normally get that on CD1 not 3!)

Just starting to feel like it's not going to happen for me again which is silly as this is only month 4. I've always known I wasn't done after DS (I would like 3!) and it's just a little ache in my chest every month it's not happening and DS is so ready to be a big brother and is really interested in babies and has even asked me and DP for a sibling and I'm just getting a little scared I won't be able to give him one.

Sorry for the slight down post and I hope I don't upset anyone who's trying for #1 or anything xx

ladybuggoldfinch · 21/01/2022 14:39

@AmberRH1993 I have a friend that had this done and went on to have another child but it was at least a year after. What have the professionals said?

ladybuggoldfinch · 21/01/2022 14:41

@kizzy97 I have been there and it's such a sad and difficult feeling. This is your thoughts talking not reality. It's so frustrating that it takes time and it's hard to not have a crystal ball to see in the future. You will pull yourself out of it, try and get some other things planned so TTC is not the only focus you have. Big hugs xxx

mightbeyesmightbeno · 21/01/2022 15:16

@AmberRH1993 tough one. It shouldn't affect conception at all, but like you said it can (very) slightly increase risk of miscarriage. BUT this is mainly if the cervix has trouble staying closed as pregnancy progresses, and if there is any concerns then they can put a stitch in to help keep it closed. Obviously this isn't ideal, but if it meant the pregnant continued versus not then it's the answer. This is only in about 10% of women though in the year after the procedure, and the risk decreases with time.

However, the risk of not having it done could be more serious to your health, as obviously if you wait until after birth and then a few months later, we're talking about a year or more down the line. Longer if conception takes longer. And the last thing you want is for there to be any health issues that could have been prevented.

What I'm trying to stay is the risk of problems is small, but the risk to health may be greater. You really have to talk to colposcopy and ask their opinion on the seriousness of not having it done. They changed the guidelines a few years ago when HPV testing became a bigger thing because having early intervention leads to much better patient outcomes.

It's such a personal decision but I really think you need to be guided by the healthcare professionals and ask them to advise on leaving it for another year or more and the risks to you.

Sorry no straight answer.

I guess if it was me, I'd get it over and done with and then tell my MW on booking appointment and they may wish to monitor you more closely x

Last time they wanted to do it but I declined so just trying to weigh out my options before I go in again on 1st February. Hopefully get my bfp by then and I'll just do the procedure after having the baby 🙏🏼

AmberRH1993 · 21/01/2022 15:27

@mightbeyesmightbeno thank you so much for your advice... It really has made me consider a lot of things ❤️ I guess I'll go to the colposcopy and see what they see and advice and go from there 😊

BigAlice · 21/01/2022 15:28

@kizzy97 I know exactly how you feel. I’m dying to have another so my little girl has a sibling and after my MC sometimes I feel like it’s never going to happen. We just need to keep trying 😊

mightbeyesmightbeno · 21/01/2022 15:31

@AmberRH1993 best way forward - like you said, you might have your BFP before then so the choice may be taken out your hands. And if not then let them advise you x
