Hi Everyone,

I thought I’d start a new thread for February following the January one.

About to start month 4 of TTC after a MC last month.

The months seem so long with a TWW thrown in but then I also can’t believe I’m about to start cycle 4! (I know that isn’t a long time for some of us and that makes me feel sad, TTC is so unfair at times)

Anyway, feel free to join if you’d like to get through February together! X

@newjourney21 this happened to me this month also and I ended up getting a peak on CD17 despite getting other symptoms (pain and ewcm) on CD15. Usually I ovulate on CD15 so I think it might be the booster - have heard it can affect ovulation and AF a bit the following cycle. But you may have just missed it!

TiredbutTrying41 · 17/01/2022 20:17

Can I join please? TTC number 2. This will be cycle 2, covid kind of got in the way of cycle 1.
I only really came off the pill November so I’ve got some clear blue ovulation tests to make sure we are DTD at the optimum time, plus I had a short cycle last month so not sure what’s going on.
Turned 41 last week, and we’ve said that we will try for 12 months before calling it a day and be thankful we have our DS. Feeling sad that we’re already 1 cycle down

arianasky · 17/01/2022 22:01

@Bringonbaby3 ah makes sense then hopefully in the next few days I'll ovulate then can join the TWW

arianasky · 17/01/2022 22:02

@Tandabear also an early tester, vowed I won't this cycle after my CP but I know it'll be different when I get to it 🙈

Cookiedough123 · 17/01/2022 22:09

So my ovulation tests came today. My last day of my period today. When would you start testing?

I am debating doing the CB OPK, have used them previously. So far this time I’ve only done basic OPKs

HelloNope · 17/01/2022 23:55

Fingers crossed for you this cycle @arianasky :)

mightbeyesmightbeno · 18/01/2022 07:17

@Cookiedough123 it depends how long your cycle is? There's normally a little chart in there to say. And it also depends what sort of tests they are? Are they the strips or the CBs?

BigAlice · 18/01/2022 07:17

I’m going to use the CB advanced OPK, I know they are expensive but I like the flashing smiley’s and then static…..gives you a bit of warning!

mightbeyesmightbeno · 18/01/2022 07:19

Help ladies! Anyone had bloods done for fertility before? I was talking to a GP about something else and mentioned TTC and he said they'd just do some bloods at the same time as my other test.

But .... he's muddled all the day 2-5 & day 21 bloods up.

I know it's progesterone both tests. But is that it? Do they test TSH as well both tests?

Poor health care assistant is trying to work out which are for today and which for days 21!

mightbeyesmightbeno · 18/01/2022 07:41

Sorry I meant "FSH" in below message and the answer is yes 😂 Thanks google! Don't worry about replying ladies, now it's just a case of getting the phlebotomist to believe me 🤞

AmberRH1993 · 18/01/2022 08:20

Morning ladies, jumping over from the January thread and can see some familiar names 😊 I'm still in my TWW and AF is due on 28th/29th. No real crazy symptoms to spot apart from increased lotion cm but that's normal after you ovulate right?
We tried opks properly this month and got my peak on 13th so we shall see what this cycle brings...

@tandabear that's so exciting.. Any pics for the squinter fans out here?? I'd say that covid is more viral and I've had it twice now with mild flu like symptoms. I don't think it can have much of an impact so long as you aren't too bad. Keep your temperature down and get cosy for your isolation to help that little bean stick further

@tandabear ohh I definitely see it 🎉 fingers crossed for your sticky bean and remember every pregnancy is its own and this could just be a bit of spotting 🤞🏻🤞🏻

arianasky · 18/01/2022 10:04

@Tandabear congratulations easy to see that line 🎉

arianasky · 18/01/2022 10:06

Another blank circle on clearblue this morning but a darker easy@home and the lines on the clearblue stick were way darker than yesterday aswell, I don't get flashing smileys normally just straight to static. I'm hoping for ovulation tomorrow or Thursday as me and DP are both off work and I won't have to tell him I'm ovulating so no stress on him then 🙈

Bringonbaby3 · 18/01/2022 12:12

@Tandabear I see it!! Congrats. Hope it sticks for you. Keep us updated :)

Only on CD 4 here so another week til I can start properly again!

mightbeyesmightbeno · 18/01/2022 12:30

@Bringonbaby3 same as you! I get sooooo impatient waiting!

BigAlice · 18/01/2022 13:32

@mightbeyesmightbeno and @Bringonbaby3 I’m the same too….CD3 for me and literally just wishing this next week away so we can properly try again!

Curlywurly3 · 18/01/2022 14:44

I’m CD5 today and I’m really not looking forward to my FW. I’m starting to wonder if having too much sex can scupper my chances! I’ve had three friends, all in the last 9 months, who all had sex once in their FW and got pregnant. Each one of them had issues conceiving the first time when they were TCC but then all got pregnant when they weren’t REALLY trying this time. Does too much sex affect the quality of the sperm?!

Natalie2304 · 18/01/2022 15:42

@Tandabear congratulations! Definitely see that line!

@Curlywurly3 funnily enough I've been hearing the same. I think I'm going to put less pressure on DTD this month. Aim for every other day but if it's once every 3 days I'm not going to worry about it 🤷🏻‍♀️
I've tried the SMEP plan, tried the NHS recommendation and neither have worked so going to try and just go with the flow

Mariabombia · 18/01/2022 16:25

So we tried pre seed for the first time last night and in our passions one of us threw the tube (without the lid) off the bed. DH later stood on it and it went all over the carpet 🤣 wouldn't mind but it's nearly £20 that stuff!! Haha. TTC is expensive...

What's everyone's experiences with pre seed. We don't usually use lube so it felt a bit weird. Tmi but I think it held everything inside more afterwards, so that's interesting...

Got a flashing smiley today on CB advanced yay , hopefully static to follow shortly! 🤞🏻

Are you meant to dtd everyday on flashing smiley days as well as solid smiley days?

mightbeyesmightbeno · 18/01/2022 17:03

@Curlywurly3 agree - I think in this case it's quality over quantity. Have been told / read on numerous occasions that sperm that is a bit more mature js better than lots of youngsters. I think every other day in fertile window is more than enough 🤞 I'm aiming for a few days before fertile window, then 3 times during FW (couple of times before O and day of) x
