Hi Everyone,

I thought I’d start a new thread for February following the January one.

About to start month 4 of TTC after a MC last month.

The months seem so long with a TWW thrown in but then I also can’t believe I’m about to start cycle 4! (I know that isn’t a long time for some of us and that makes me feel sad, TTC is so unfair at times)

Anyway, feel free to join if you’d like to get through February together! X

Downloaded ovia fertility app this afternoon (I used it when I had DS) and plugged my info into it. It's suggested I test in 6 days but I'm going to wait until the 9th when AF is due.

It's been so long since I had DS that I can't remember what my early symptoms were but that might not be a bad thing as I'd probably compare then to now and drive myself a bit potty in the process 😅

Mariabombia · 01/02/2022 20:11

Huge huge huge congratulations @DancinOnTheCeiling that's amazing news. Hope to see lots more BFPs over the course of the month & hopefully I won't be far behind lots of you guys 👏🏻

Peonies94 · 01/02/2022 20:13

@Decaffe yes I think most the results weren’t too bad, it was the morphology that we we’ve most concerned about n hopefully the supplements will get them a little higher! Just ordered! 😂

Peonies94 · 01/02/2022 20:14

@DancinOnTheCeiling congratulations !!

MummyMe87 · 01/02/2022 20:21

@arianasky so so sore boobs, like mega sore. Hoping it’s not AF related particularly as it started on 3dpo. Not noticed any CM today which I’ve had every day since Ov. Gahhh wish we could know earlier!!

Mariabombia · 01/02/2022 20:24

Update on my left side pelvic pain, sorry for the essay in advance!

So AF due on Thursday, did a FRER on Sunday and it was negative.

Pain has got incrementally worse each day so I've spoken to the drs about it & they did a urine test to check for bladder infection etc, that's come back negative!

Pain is radiating from my left pelvic area around my lower back , it's awful :(

I spoke to the doctor about this pain and my fertility concerns generally & she has requested I get my bloods done (2nd day 21 day of cycle) Massive list of things they're checking for.

She's also requested I have an ultra sound to check everything so hoping that will happen soon! I think that may be a trans Vaginal one?

Has anyone had either of these tests before? Did they show much? Did the ultrasound one hurt etc?

As for the pelvic pain I'm having she just told me to take a pain killer. Said it's most likely a cyst and said it can't be ectopic due to the time of it so that's a major relief.

Finding it very uncomfortable though :( & now I'm really concerned about why I'm getting these pains . Has anyone had a cyst before? How did it feel?

Quite shocked I'm getting these checks so soon (been ttc 4 months so far) but I'm really relieved.

If anyone has been through anything similar I would love to know more & hear about it 💕 Wishing you all the best.

QueenBee22 · 01/02/2022 20:37

@Mariabombia

I had a cyst years ago. No pain with it. I was bleeding for 3 weeks and then got my period so bleeding for 4 weeks in total.

Mariabombia · 01/02/2022 20:40

@QueenBee22 sorry to hear that, do you know if it burst then? Good that you didn't have pain though.

I've had no bleeding

Tinkerbell098 · 01/02/2022 20:52

@Mariabombia I’m having an ultrasound done on Friday so will update you on the experience.

Mariabombia · 01/02/2022 20:55

@Tinkerbell098 thank you, I'd appreciate that. Hope you're alright

arianasky · 01/02/2022 21:13

@MummyMe87 sore boobs here as well but not sore to touch just stabbing pains on and off around the nipples and really painful feelings on the side of my breasts going to underarm! Get everyone crossed for us 🤞🏻🙏🏻

maybein2022 · 01/02/2022 21:14

Please could I join? Haven’t been able to read the whole thread, but good luck to all waiting.

Earliest I can test is Friday, (4th) but I am going to try and hold off. I probably won’t though!

RosyappleA · 01/02/2022 21:26

The transvaginal scan itself is totally painless and I am a wimp. I found a smear test harder. Uncomfortable at most. The smear test hurt me more even though i went mid cycle. Good luck.

Peonies94 · 01/02/2022 21:40

@RosyappleA that’s good to know! I have my scan in 2 weeks, and I found smear really uncomfortable!

Purple29 · 01/02/2022 22:21

I had quite an extensive vaginally scan at the end of dec, the dr was doing it and they're not as gentle as the nurses and it was only mildly uncomfortable. That was getting scanned for about 15-20 mins. It was an ectopic for me but I was getting positive pregnancy tests. But the scan itself was fine.

Trans vaginal* don't know why it's auto cottected that.
Peonies94 · 01/02/2022 23:00

@Purple29 ahh sorry to hear that! Sending hugs hope you get your BFP soon!

DancinOnTheCeiling · 02/02/2022 07:43

Morning, thanks so so much for all the lovely messages, how kind 💕💕. I need to go back and read the messages properly, there were some questions too I think, have just not had a minute yesterday and fell into bed exhausted..

Just wanted to write down things that are coming to mind we did differently in case others find it helpful.

So, we did the @Purple29 method. Purple said she DTD on days 6, 10, 12 and 14 as her cycle is 27 days. Mine is either 26 or 28 days, so we planned to DTD on day 5, 9, 11, 13 and 15 to kind of cover both cycle lengths if that makes sense. I didn’t do OPKs so don’t know when I ovulated. In the end we did days 5 (we cheated on day 5 - see below), 9, 11 and 13. We didn’t do 15 as by that point I either had the bad toothache or the horrible thrush type symptoms, can’t remember which one and felt pretty confident by that point I had ovulated already (based on EWCM and previous cycles ovulation days). We found this method SO much more relaxing than DTD every day in a row which we did in previous cycles. Also, for those where DTD has become a bit of ‘work’ rather than just fun: our day 5 DTD wasn’t actually DTD but just OH getting rid of his old swimmers all by himself (sorry TMI 🤣), then we waited for 4 days to replenish and then DTD 3 times. All of it just felt like way less pressure. It’s funny cuz you think you have to DTD as much as you can (over Xmas we DTD 6 days in a row I think and were so knackered) but then I feel like the resentment is greater if it doesn’t work. This cycle I was just as inpatient in the TWW as usual but the one thing I thought was if it didn’t work at least our DTD was lonely and doable rather than a six day exhausting marathon.

The other thing that’s different is I started fertility reflexology in December (so second cycle after starting it I fell). It is sooooo relaxing so I highly recommend it.

I did another thing which was different. I take Q10 or whatever the supplement is called, usually I take one 200 capsule a day but this cycle I took two day. The instructions say one a day so I made my own decision (think I read somewhere that 200 is too low).

So a few things that were different and don’t know if one of those or a combination did the trick. Or if it would’ve happened anyway.

Also to give people some hope if she worries you: I’m nearly 41, OH is 44.

Plus I have health issues and am on lots of medication, steroids, painkillers and immunosuppressant medication, and this month I was on antibiotics because of tooth gate and taking all sorts because of the thrush/BV type issues and we still fell, again just saying this to give hope and that it can happen when the circumstances seem totally against you.

In terms of early symptoms, in hindsight I wonder if some of the tooth issues could be an early sign. I had read sensitive teeth can be a sign. When I brushed my teeth the AM I got the bad toothache I thought my teeth felt very sensitive and straight away thought ‘oh is this a pregnancy symptom’ in the typical TWW obsession but because I ended up with a tooth infection I then thought my body had just tricked me into thinking it was a preg symptom, now I think it maybe was? I also felt a little hungrier and a little queasy a couple of times about 3 days or so before I got my BFP, not hugely noticeable but enough to make me briefly think ‘that’s odd’. In terms of cramps, I felt they were milder and higher up than AF type cramps.. although having said that, the reason I tested on Monday night was because I was convinced AF was on the way (had quite a bit of CM and I thought some spotting but hard to know as i think I’m so raw down there (sorry TMI) from the thrush/BV that there was a tiny bit of blood from the rawness.. I genuinely genuinely thought I’m out but instead of waiting for full blown AF I just wanted to stop guessing/having my hopes up so did an IC and was honestly in shock when I saw a tiny bit of something... I haven’t had even a hint of a line on any tests since TTC #2, so then did FRER.

Other symptom was terrible crampy diarrhoea on two different days which I had with DC1 but I was sure I had this cycle from the antibiotics.. which still could be but again I now wonder if it was the hormones rather than antibiotics.

Hope this helps. I’ll try to answer other questions when I get a chance but maybe I’ve answered everything. I am sending soooo much baby dust to everyone 💕💕. Can I stay on the thread? Really rooting for everyone. Also, I realised my BFP was on 31.1. so technically the January thread but I left that ages ago? Xx

Mariabombia · 02/02/2022 08:08

@RosyappleA & @Purple29 thanks for letting me know. I've had a colposcopy before so I'm wondering if it's the same thing?

Purple I'm so sorry to hear about your ectopic, I hope you're doing okay, that must have been very tough.
Could I ask you what symptoms you had and how early on they started?

Curlywurly3 · 02/02/2022 08:15

@DancinOnTheCeiling of course you can stay!!! We’d love to hear your updates and thank you so much for sharing your TWW experience! One quick question, how many DPO were you when you tested?

OP posts:
MummyMe87 · 02/02/2022 08:20

@Mariabombia my ectopic symptoms had a rapid onset, pain lower abdominal area and a pin point in my right groin. Got worse and worse, vomited, diarrhoea, high heart rate and crawling around the floor like I was in labour, all within the space on an hour. Went to a&e, has some codeine and scanned a little later in the morning to find I was full of blood and it had partially ruptured. Was in theatre by 2pm after it starting at 4am

DancinOnTheCeiling · 02/02/2022 08:22

Thanks @Curlywurly3, would love to stay and see how everyone else gets on 😍. I didn’t do OPKs so not sure exactly when I ovulated but my guess is that I was 12DPO, possibly 13DPO when I tested. I could be wrong and maybe have been further along given my line was quite dark..

mightbeyesmightbeno · 02/02/2022 08:29

@DancinOnTheCeiling thank you so much for your message - all of that information will defiantly give people on here that have been trying a little while hope! As for your DTD day 5... I had a little chuckle to myself because we also had a "fun day" that first day when DH got his favourite thing ... if you get my drift. Agree, it takes the pressure off and DH couldn't do it every day now. I'm a 28 day cycle girl (except when having chemicals 🙄 and then it's longer), and this month we've DTD on 7,10,14&15. Had to modify slightly due to house guests. But I'm almost certain I didn't O until morning of CD16, so hoping 14&15 did the trick!

And of course you can stay on this thread! We'd like to know how you get on!

Mariabombia · 02/02/2022 08:31

@MummyMe87 oh my god that sounds so scary, bless you :(! So sorry to hear that.
How many weeks would you have been?Did this pain all start within the same day?

Curlywurly3 · 02/02/2022 08:39

Jeez @MummyMe87 that sounds horrendous and so scary, so sorry you had to go through that. Sorry to everyone who has had a loss. I was so naive before coming on MN, I had no how common losses are. I really hope this is a positive month for us all.
7DPO today and find myself day dreaming about being pregnant to dreading the possibility of a BFN or AF x
