Hi Everyone,

I thought I’d start a new thread for February following the January one.

About to start month 4 of TTC after a MC last month.

The months seem so long with a TWW thrown in but then I also can’t believe I’m about to start cycle 4! (I know that isn’t a long time for some of us and that makes me feel sad, TTC is so unfair at times)

Anyway, feel free to join if you’d like to get through February together! X

Hi all, I’ve been quiet as had such horrendous toothache (finally better), then bad stomach issues (will spare you the details) from the antibiotics I got for the tooth infection. Thrush/BV still here too and so uncomfortable and feel like AF is coming too 🙈. I’ve still to reply individually to the kind PPs who’ve given me advice re my BV/thrush.. trying the suggestions one by one. Need to read back and find the messages once dd is in bed. Anyway, despite AF on the way (I think anyway), I’ve put myself on the calendar... hope we get lots of BFPs 🤞🏻🤞🏻

mightbeyesmightbeno · 30/01/2022 18:36

Just had a jokey chat to DH over dinner about how I wanted sex tonight because today is probably ovulation day and last night was mostly wasted when it dribbled out... and he actually said that he reckoned last night would have "done the trick" because it was at least in there for a few seconds! When I said even with the best will in the world it's not a guarantee and only like a 30 ish % chance of conception he honestly looked at me like I was mad and said of course not! He thinks he has super sperm.

It's very odd 😂

He seems to have forgotten that this isn't month 1 and he just thinks that one time sex with dribble will 100% "do the trick". Drives me bonkers.

TeddyBeans · 30/01/2022 18:48

@mightbeyesmightbeno your scenario is basically what happened when I fell pregnant with DS 🤷‍♀️ you just never know

Decaffe · 30/01/2022 18:55

OK, prompted by @mightbeyesmightbeno's post... here is a question for all you people who 'pop a pillow' underneath while DH goes off to the shower....!

How do you get the pillow under without, er, losing any precious liquid (Grin) which might escape due to the muscles contracting when you move/bend/clench during pillow placement?!

mightbeyesmightbeno · 30/01/2022 19:08

❤️ thank you @TeddyBeans this makes me much happier ❤️

mightbeyesmightbeno · 30/01/2022 19:10

@Decaffe haven't found a way yet. But if I concentrate then I'm quite good at clenching firmly for a bit. Just wasn't thinking about it yesterday as it was literally when he pulled out 😂

MangoLipstick · 30/01/2022 19:22

@mightbeyesmightbeno
Thank you for the kind words. I’m feeling ok, still get moments of feeling sad for what could have been but dh has been great support, our little one is a joy and keeps me busy so I don’t dwell on things for too long.

@Snowwhite2020

thank you x

Cookiedough123 · 30/01/2022 19:32

@mightbeyesmightbeno
Laughing at the sex dribble 😂 I tend to just lie there. I did some googling the other day and it said the strong sperm swim straight through the cervix ready to wait and its the semen that 'dribbles' out. I've felt really rashy and sore as the first few times I've just lied there so I've now just been doing 5-10 mins then having a wee and a little wash.

Purple29 · 30/01/2022 20:00

@Decaffe put the pillow under you before or during sex before he ejaculates, it goes deeper and you don't need to move after. I have even seen myself having it under during and legs facing towards the headboard so they can go up when hes finished!!

QueenBee22 · 30/01/2022 20:06

@Decaffe

The early ovulation is good as I used to have a 33 day cycle, then a 41-43 day cycle and they would rotate every second month or so.

Now I seem to be having a 31 day cycle or maybe even less this time as my period was only finished a week when I got a static smiley so I will probably ovulate now in the next 5 days hopefully all going well.

sherbetmelon · 30/01/2022 20:23

Hi please can I join?
AF arrived today, came off the depo in the summer of last year so this is my first period in well over a year and I'm relieved to be able to track ovulation a bit easier. Started TTC for no.2 this month so Feb will be second month for me.
3 friends have announced a pregnancy in the last week which is very exciting but doesn't help with the broodiness Grin
I already have a DD who is 3 Smile

DancinOnTheCeiling · 30/01/2022 22:34
@DancinOnTheCeiling not sure why you've lost the ability sorry. Do you orgasm via penetration? If so things probably shifted during the birth (if it was natural). Things shifted right into place for me after having DS! Sex feels so much better than it did, it always hurt or basically didn't feel nice
@mummytorm, sorry for my mega slow reply, I’ve been so unwell. I’m so sorry sex used to be so unpleasant for you, how great birth has shifted everything into place and made it good! Yes mine used to be orgasm via penetration; I had a c section so birth can’t be the reason I’ve lost my orgasm.. anyway, I hope it comes back!!

DancinOnTheCeiling · 30/01/2022 22:45

@RosyappleA

Hi ladies, i swore I wouldn’t use OPKs this month but than an amazon order I had completely forgot about for clearblue advanced which I hadn’t tried before arrived. I got a flashing smiley today on CD 9 which is earlier than I anticipated. How many days do you find the flashing smiley lasts for you? Basically dtd last night really cannot today as I stayed up til 4am with toddler woke up early etc. I wanna skip today but wondering if it is even likely that a static will show up tomorrow? I doubt it right? I ovulate normally on day 13.

Congrats amber on BFP. Deffo think this doing it every other day deffo takes the pressure off.

@DancinOnTheCeiling i recommend you tell GP over the phone so they leave a sample for you behind the reception, to swab to see if it is thrush or BV as they never seem to follow the textbook symptoms in reality for many. My thrush after having my daughter for which i had antibiotics after for haematoma, lasted more than two years on and off really didn't clear with anything and i tell you i tried absolutely everything prescription and home remedies. What has really helped is preseed as it doesnt upset anything unlike conceive plus which I believe even caused my thrush. The preseed allowed less friction with sex which i think also became a cause of my thrush as i became so sensitive to any disturbance down there. Even water became a problem. I finally read on mumsnet about Multi-gyn flora plus which worked for me, thanks to ladies on here. It stings like crazy so ppl give up on it but then by day 5 you adjust and i feel that burning is what seems to get rid of it and shift things back to normal in terms of the vaginal flora. My thrush was never smelly and never the thick curdy white discharge people describe. Just like you i had a bit of blood at times from the soreness as the skin was so thin and delicate from it and it was a prickly sore itchiness but more discomfort than anything in particular with discharge. I thought it was BV at times and tried all Bv treatments too. I am finally thrush free with these two items preseed and the multi-gyn floraplus. Good luck.

@RosyappleA thanks so much for the advice, and so sorry for my slow reply, I’ve been so unwell.

I’ve ordered multi-gyn flora plus and hope it’ll help. I tried vagisil which someone else suggested but it didn’t help so I think it is thrush rather than BV. Did you just use it for five days or longer? If multi-gyn flora plus doesn’t help I’ll phone the GP..

just to double check I’m understanding what you’re saying re preseed: you mean using preseed for when we’re DTD (but not at other times), right? Your message reads a bit like preseed might also be a good thrush treatment in general ie when not DTD, I don’t think that’s what you mean but I just want to double check as you never know.. x

DancinOnTheCeiling · 30/01/2022 22:58

@MangoLipstick so sorry to hear about the MMC. Welcome to the thread, 🤞🏻 we all get our BFPs and sticky beans.. xx

@MangoLipstick I’ve just seen this, glad to hear you’re okay and that DH has been great support and your little one keeps you busy.. x

mightbeyesmightbeno · 31/01/2022 07:21

@MangoLipstick as others have said, fabulous to hear that DH is a wonderful support xx

mightbeyesmightbeno · 31/01/2022 07:31

@Cookiedough123 good / interesting to know about the dribble 😂 although I don't think my husbands swimmers are very fast so they may have been caught up in the accidental flood 😂

But anyway, after last night that's me done for the month now, I don't think DH would be able to go again tonight. I'll try but I doubt it. So we've DTD on CD7,10,14,15 with O suspected on CD15 (although I didn't feel my usual twinges of O). So am hoping that was enough. So i guess kinda the @Purple29 plan with a few modifications 😂😂

kizzy97 · 31/01/2022 08:14

Sorry I know how quick this thread moves, does anybody have an answer to my OPK question please? Would just like to know if I'm doing it right or not? xxx

Purpleflowers17 · 31/01/2022 08:30

This thread moves swiftly!
Can someone pop me on the chart for 11th Feb please!

@mightbeyesmightbeno that’s hilarious my OH said something similar last night DTD was just lying there and he just says deadly serious. I reckon those sperm are the jackpot! I genuinely started laughing while trying to avoid leakage.

We are done for the month now baby making anyways so officially in TWW. Time for a few days rest- is it bad that I’m slightly relieved for the rest 😅

melbxldn · 31/01/2022 08:32

@kizzy97 yes I find they go up and down lots until I’m close to my LH surge when they tend to be greater than 0.5, and even then they can go up and down a bit. It depends a lot on how much water I’ve drink, how long the hold and also the lighting for the photo. I try not to rely on the numbers and just is the line dark or not

mightbeyesmightbeno · 31/01/2022 08:42

@Purpleflowers17 not at all - me too! I'm looking forward to the next few weeks letting DH initiate and just having sex for fun with no baby thoughts!

@kizzy97 yes this thread does move fast - probably lost! I've had a scroll down but can't easily see it, remind us of your question?

mightbeyesmightbeno · 31/01/2022 08:43

Sorry just seen @melbxldn has replied to @kizzy97
