@Mochii I go every two weeks but will increase when I have dates for the IVF. My acupuncturist will work with me to have sessions before and after the implantation.

Apparently you should avoid going when AF is here.

Gracie2021 · 15/03/2022 09:36

@beckyCarlos have heard of that actually. I'm one of ones on 450. Max doses all the way here 😂😂 my last trip to the Oharmacy I walked out with three big bags with thousands of euro worth of drugs. Because of our giver meant cover we only paid eighty euro for it. So grateful.

@Mochii I've been going weekly since Oct but it's my one treat and I've been in non stop treatment. Will go back to fortnightly or monthly between treatments.

Fingers crossed for you @PurpleUnicorn01

Hi i hope you're well.

Quick question for a friend can anyone recommend a good acupuncture person near west london. Also whats the best coq10 to take.

Thank you in advance

magnoliasinbloom · 15/03/2022 18:04

@Gracie2021 yay for your embryo!!!!

and @beckyCarlos yay for starting stims on Thursday!!!

@PurpleUnicorn01 fingers crossed for testing tomorrow :) I have used the Solgar brand of CoQ10 ubiquinol and found it good. I think ubiquinol is the form that is most readily absorbed by your body and therefore recommended but it is pricey.

beckyCarlos · 15/03/2022 20:15

@gracie2021 ooh, how does it work, do you mix up three 150s? Is it one (scary glass snapping) ampule or two?! Questions you only ask in IVF 🤣

@purpleunicorn01 i use lamberts ubiquinol, my acupuncturist orders from them and only charges me cost, its about £35 for 60 100mg i think x

PurpleUnicorn01 · 16/03/2022 12:56

Thank you ladies. I feel like this is the fountain of all fertility knowledge page lol

Gracie2021 · 16/03/2022 16:45

@PurpleUnicorn01 I just get the cheapest one as it's pricy as hell. Used to take 100mg and upped it to 600mg for IVF after reading it starts with the egg. Think that was causing my dizzy spells as apparently too much can affect your blood pressure. On 200mg now and not a problem. Just wanted to mention for anyone else who gets a bit over enthusiastic like me.

@beckyCarlos gonal F is actually a handy little pen that you screw the cap onto and dial up the dose. I get two nights out of each one. Luveris is the tricky one. Have to mix one bottle of fluid into three bottles of powder. Feel like the mad scientist every time 😂😂😂 are you all set for stims tomorrow? When is your next scan?

OP posts:
beckyCarlos · 16/03/2022 19:14

@purpleunicorn01 @gracie2021 i also only take 200mg of ubiquinol, it starts with the egg recommends loads but a) price and b) i barely take paracetamol, and it seemed like a lot 🤣

My next scan is a week on fri, they dont do very much when youre long protocol 🤣 thatll be folicle check and, if things look good, egg collection booking!

Ooh three powders into one water! That definitely sounds like youre basically a chemist now! I'm nervous about my first mix tomorrow! But am sure it'll be fine once I get the hang of it (after watching the video a thousand times) x

Kay00 · 17/03/2022 13:55

I'm so.. so.. sick of taking pills... I'm starting to heave when I take them Sad. I want to reduce down what I'm taking if possible but I don't want to be shooting myself in the foot.

I take (daily):
4 x Metformin (2000mg)
4 x Conceive Plus Ovulation Support (Myo Inositol, D Chiro, CoQ10, Folic Acid)
2 x Conceive Plus Fertility Support (general pre-natal vitamin)
1 x Vitamin D (1000ug)

I have already dropped the massive B-Complex vitamin because they were so disgusting Grin

I was thinking I would continue this schedule for my first un-medicated (post Clomid) cycle. And then might drop the Ovulation support before I start IVF... but maybe that's a bad idea if its helping egg quality?

beckyCarlos · 17/03/2022 14:05

Crikey @kay00! Thats a lot! (Although now thinking maybe im not taking enough lol) I take a awven seas prenatal and a large dose vitamin c (both tiny) and two ubiquinol (medium sized), I used to do them individually becuaseI hate taking tablets, but one day I realised I could probably just wang them all in together and be fine, so thats what I do now 😂 only had one near choking incident to date!

Kay00 · 17/03/2022 14:10

Haha, oh no! I haven't choked on any yet. But I dread taking any of them! And before you start taking more... none of them have helped me get pregnant, so I have no evidence of any success Grin.

beckyCarlos · 17/03/2022 14:21

@kay00 😂 i think back to the time I thought taking a prenantal would help and want to pat myself on the head!

Kay00 · 17/03/2022 15:04

Haha... Yeah. I remember changing my pre-natal like that might help too Grin.

Gracie2021 · 17/03/2022 16:56

Oh lads you're gonna think I'm properly cuckoo. I have an assembly line of supplements.
Vit D 2000iu
Vit E 400iu
Vit C 1000mg
NPH General fertility support
Folate400ug
B Complex
Omega 369 3000mg
Probiotic
CoQ10 200mg
I spend more on supplements every month than I do on IVF medication which is bonkers. That said I've run these past two doctors and my acupuncturist and each time I did they just added something else to it so sticking with it for now.

Scan tomorrow. So nervous. Here eating whole chicken breasts off the fork trying to get some protein into me

Happy St Patrick's day from Ireland 🇮🇪

OP posts:
beckyCarlos · 17/03/2022 18:17

@gracie2021 thats the best image, eating chicken and rattling away :) what time is your scan? Hope it goes well! For what its worth, if the supplements help your mind (and dont hurt you) its all good by me!

Just on my way back from acupuncture so my world is currently very rosy, but had a heart in mouth (or falling out of arse) moment earlier because the clinic rang 'about my screening bloods' 😱 turns out theyre almost out of date so we need them doing again, but my god I'd convinced myself (in the space of 2 seconds) that Id somehow got syphilis haha

Happy St Patricks Day 🍀

beckyCarlos · 17/03/2022 22:10

First stims went....well they went 🤣 I stabbed myself with the big green mixing needle haha. But it went ok, got the needle in, didnt hurt, pushing the plunger seems easier, and I'm now sat with a hot water bottle and downloading a visualisation for before bed. What is life!

Tinkerbell098 · 18/03/2022 10:04

@beckyCarlos aww glad it didn't hurt. Well done you! What are these visualisations you are downloading? sounds interesting!

Tinkerbell098 · 18/03/2022 12:21

@PurpleUnicorn01 any update on your tests? Thinking of you x

beckyCarlos · 18/03/2022 12:56

@tinkerbelle098 they're like a guided meditation but with more of a focus on particular stages of IVF, I'm currently on the stims stage so every morning I'll listen to it, and try and do what its telling me lol, then switch to a new one for collection, transfer, and two week wait 😊 its a Zita West product so not cheap, but it gives me something else I can feel like I'm doing, and half an hourna day focusing on relaxing cant be bad

Tinkerbell098 · 18/03/2022 13:59

@beckyCarlos oh I'll look into that for when I start my treatment. Anything that'll help, especially if it is something like meditation that'll definitely relax and calm your body.

Gracie2021 · 18/03/2022 14:31

@beckyCarlos omg you did it with the mixing needle 😱 you're proper hardcore. On the upside it's going to seem also easy after a start like that, you poor thing.

@PurpleUnicorn01 been thinking of you too and sending all the virtual good wishes xx

Duostim approach is looking promising here guys. My PB count to date was 7 and today we have 15 follicles on my day 6 scan. I'm back on Monday morning but just over the moon. Ten on my right and 5 even on my lazy left ovary. 7 are between 8-14mm so even if we ended up with half the eggs as follicles there it would be an amazing result for us. Trying to temper my expectations but all in all, a good day for this poor responder.

Tinkerbell098 · 18/03/2022 14:38

@Gracie2021 great news about your follicles! Could it also be those chicken breasts you've been gulping? Good luck for Monday xx

Gracie2021 · 18/03/2022 15:00

That or the daily chocolate cupcakes from the freezer @Tinkerbell098 😂😂😂😂
