So I rang for my test results (Gp ones) and the lady on the phone said my live, kidney, bone and FBC are all fine but my thyroid and prolactin haven’t been reviewed by a doctor yet. Erm well why would they review the same results separately? I can only assume that means they’re not within normal range which is why a doctor is reviewing them. I have to call back tomorrow but I have no idea what all this means for the ivf.

@thislittlebird at least your bloods are done. One thing off the list!

@PurpleUnicorn01 yeah it's something done. From a bit of reading it seems thyroid issues might not be great for iVF so if it is abnormal I'm going to have to ask the doctor to speak to me urgently about it all. Talk about cutting it fine.

Everything is going wrong. Now I haven’t had a proper bleed. I had this issue for months between August 2020 and Jan 2020. From Feb 2020 I started acupuncture and it went back to normal. In October I missed acupuncture and it happened again, then December I missed it for over a month and guess what? I’m not bleeding properly again. I’m so tired and stressed and can’t even start ivf.

I’m on hold to the doctor for my thyroid and prolactin results.

August 2020 and Jan 2021, I mean. From Feb 2021 I started acupuncture.

@thislittlebird I'm so sorry your body is playing rogue again - it's typical isn't it! A few days delay won't matter in the grand scheme of things though, hopefully AF shows asap. Let us know how the doctor's thyroid/prolactin update goes!

@Juno231 I’m so sick of all this. It’s definitely started but it’s not going to be a normal period for me, by the looks of it. I’ve asked the clinic if they want me to come in tomorrow, worst case it’s next month instead, I guess. The nurse I saw at Care a year ago said your body can reabsorb the lining when stressed so maybe it’s that.

Just got off the phone to the doctor and all my thyroid, prolactin results were fine!!!! I fasted this time because the internet said it was best to do so with prolactin tests, even if my doctor didn’t mention it.

They’ve booked me to come in for a scan on Saturday. I really wanted all this to go well. She said they want to see fresh red blood and of course I can’t produce any of that this month 😭. I don’t know what happens if they scan me and I’ve not bled properly.

@thislittlebird great news about your results but so annoying about your bleed. Are you going to book back into acupuncture? Its great for stress too.

@PurpleUnicorn01 I actually went on Tuesday, maybe it was too late to have a positive impact on my silly body. But I hadn’t been for over a month because of Christmas and was due to go a week earlier and cancelled. I’ve tried to book again and will keep going regularly.

Hopefully this lame period will be enough but I wanted it all to go to plan, and nope. Can’t manage that 🙃

@thislittlebird amazing news about your tests! So bittersweet with your bleed though, maybe the acupuncture will have kick started things and its taking a couple of days to work through. Although I say this as someone who was mad as a wasp before christmas because my second covid vax made me miss a period fucking up my dates (before I knew about the polyp)... i started googling 'how to make your period come' and there was nothing helpful although you could look up acupressure points that you massage (similar to where they do puncture) but it didn't work for me. I didnt know the womb could reabsorb the liking. Wtf. Bodies are insane (and really uncompliant!)

@beckyCarlos my life has reached the stage where I got some red blood and took a photo so I could prove it if I needed to at the clinic 😭🙃😩. This is a terrible existence.

I too have been down the ‘how to make your period...’ Google search rabbit 🕳 . In my case it was be heavier and something worked for one month but not much helped overall.

I’m at home alone and should be working but I can’t, sorry to my employer but I’m struggling to remain even vaguely calm. I did a mindful ivf meditation, then I put some classical music on and that just made me cry.

I’m going to tidy the house so I’m doing something.

I think @Gracie2021 will have started by now too.

@thislittlebird 🤣 what struggling to conceive does to us! Controversially perhaps, I'd say do the bare minimum for work, just what you absolutely NEED to for today, otherwise let yourself feel everything youre feeling, cry, shout, hit some cushions, stress eat, rage nap (is that a thing?) ... this sucks, let it out, and we're all here for you x

@beckyCarlos seriously, sometimes I have to wonder how we got here. 🙃

I did stab a box of dettol wipes that wouldn’t open with scissors quite aggressively, that made me feel better for like ten seconds. I’ve been rage cleaning and tidying. We decided to get some decorating done so I’ve also been applying testers to the wall. I can’t focus on work very well so I’ve just been doing the bare minimum and some of my own stuff to feel better.

@thislittlebird i love a rage clean! I mostly lob things out lol

@PurpleUnicorn01 I’ve been having a small clear out and started eBaying stuff lately.

So my period slowly picked up pace. I do wonder if the acupuncture did help, took nearly 24 hours before it was looking heavier/more normal. And then I got my regular hormonal migraine so in a way going in on Saturday is helpful because otherwise I’d have been going in today with the migraine still ongoing.

@thislittlebird I'm glad!! I'm thrilled it's finally all happening for you, it's been so long!

@Juno231 it really does feel like forever! A year getting from the initial gynaecology referral to IVF starting. Ugh. I’m nervous but also keen to start and I’ve ordered lots of protein. I don’t even eat meat normally, not going to love eating so much of it for ten days ish.

Work has been mental busy and just haven't gotten to keep track of everyone here at all. Need to do a good trawl back through over the weekend and catch up on everything but just saw your last couple messages @thislittlebird and so similar to me today. Was meant to be CD1 and booked in for baseline at 9.30. If my period didn't come by lunchtime they were going to push my stims start back to Monday. I lied and messaged in about 11 that it had started 🙈 in my defense I knew it was imminent. Cue a mad cleaning frenzy at lunchtime to get things going which thankfully worked. Just thought it strange that we were both wishing AF on today. I officially start stims tomorrow. Can't believe it. Hope you get the go ahead tomorrow!

@Gracie2021 I was wondering what happened to you! This is day 2, tomorrow will be day 3. If it started midday then tomorrow is technically your day 1, right? Have you had your scan? I’m not allowed to start until I’ve had my scan but hopefully I’ll be starting too, and no uterus oddities to be found! It will be nice to know someone going through it, no one seems to talk to me on the busy Ivf thread 😂. I asked if anyone was starting now for feb and no one replied.

@Gracie2021 that's so exciting! Keep us posted. I hated stims towards the end. The swollen ovaries are zero fun. Don't be alarmed if they stay swollen for a few weeks. The drs say that's normal.

Sorry for disappearing @thislittlebird and yes 100% want to cheer each other on through this. Such a support having someone else at the same stage. Juggling a lot at the minute which is actually a good thing as no time to think or worry (too much) but just haven't been able to keep up to date on here at all. Need to do better! The big IVF thread scares me a bit too, I can't keep track of anyone at all as there's so many updates flying in.
I was CD1 today but they did the scan before period arrived and took my word for it arriving. So I'll be Cd2 and day 1 stims tomorrow. By the sounds of it you'll be starting Sunday/Monday? They told me any day from 2-5 was fine to start but I just couldn't be waiting anymore hence the small white lie about AF.

@PurpleUnicorn01 watching my stims needle teaches here as I go to bed and just grateful for my practice to date on the medicated cycles as I have a vague idea what I'm doing. Have warned the puppy no running from tomorrow and only brisk walks to mind the poor swollen ovaries. If I get eggs I won't care what size they are though!

@Gracie2021 I would rather by busy too so I have a distraction I guess but my job isn’t that busy right now anyway so it is what it is. Probably a good thing really, I’d definitely complain if work was stressful on top of this. I think that Ivf thread is so busy because it’s really three months worth of people, because December would have been quiet. I can’t keep up and feel bad but I’ve posted general good wishes a couple of times.

I guess they’ll tell me when I get there. I’m day 3 now so it won’t be very delayed.

We watched the stims needle stuff last night and I really won’t pretend I understand the air bubble thing. The video was jumping around all over the place which didn’t help. DH says he gets it and he’s done ovitrelle for me before and he’ll be doing these too, I’m more of a worrier.

Ok I start the stims today 👀. Blood test booked on Wednesday to decide what happens after Wednesday drugs wise. I had 13 follicles on the right, 11 on the left. No idea how many of those will respond but when I was on letrozole my right ovary wouldn’t respond so well, they’d stop growing usually.
