@kizzy97 @Peonies94 @Tinkerbell098 @jhodd @EvelynSalt starting this from those of us that are out this month and ready to go for December!

This part is nearly as bad as the TTW - waiting for AF to be over and to be able to crack on!

By my calculations we'll all know before Christmas if the next cycle has been a success for us - so hopefully either way happiness or sadness there will be lots of opportunities for lovely family time x

Definitely not as excited and obsessed as I was the first cycle. Hoping for a Christmas Miracle, but I just have this sinking gut feeling that I am going to be one of those women for whom it just won't happen as easily as for everybody else..

Wow @CrumchyLeafs you're only on your second cycle, please you can't get so down after only trying for 30 days!
It took me 9 months to get pregnant and that's faster than average . I'm 10 weeks pregnant now and believe me you don't want to get so upset already, look after your mental well-being! Good luck x

laurenGame · 07/12/2021 06:09

I started trying in feb @CrumchyLeafs and only got BFP end of October - and that's normal. Please tell yourself it takes on average a year and don't get so down every time period arrives. If you get BFP in time for next Xmas that's normal.
Just how long it takes to make a baby Smile

@oldermam hello fellow nurse ❤️ I'm not sure that the actual time matters but I think it's more about the length of hold of the wee. So if you're not peeing much or drinking much on shift / a while before you finish then I think fine but afternoon one will probably be better because more concentrated?

Makes sense! I generally manage to drink and wee loads on shifts otherwise I get plagued by utis 🥰

@laurenGame I think a lot of women are so hopeful for that first cycle that it can hit unbelievably hard if it doesn't work out. Harder than any other cycle. I know I cried when I got my period first cycle even though I knew deep down it wasn't likely. Hopefully @CrumchyLeafs is in a better place and more ok with the idea of it not happening immediately but I don't think it's the most morale boosting thing to tell someone who's upset at not conceiving that it's normal to take a while so don't be upset about it. (I know it's not meant maliciously or anything but I'd hate for someone to feel silly about being upset when a lot of people would be the same)

mightbeyesmightbeno · 07/12/2021 09:42

@oldermam then I think your wees after your sleep will be the most reliable x

@Theresamagicalplace totally agree ... this is a place where people should be able to voice their thoughts & feelings without worrying about being told off for feeling these things. @CrumchyLeafs I was the same after my first cycle with my (now 18m) DD and also this time round my first cycle was my hardest. After that it feels a little more ok to not get BFPs so I get how you feel. You'll be ok and you'll get there one day ❤️

Last night & today I actually feel slight O pains although no EWCM any more. So am a little confused as thought I was 3dPO so I think I'll try and DTD tonight just incase!

When do others get EWCM? Does it stop as soon as O?

OP posts:
Theresamagicalplace · 07/12/2021 10:00

@mightbeyesmightbeno exactly! That first cycle is so full of hope and excitement and it's so easy to get swept up in it and be devastated when it fails. But after that first "fail" it's easier to get your head around not getting pregnant as soon as you'd hoped (if that makes sense).

I found this time that it helped to indulge in everything you can't have when pregnant the day af showed Grin a nice bottle of wine, some lovely brie etc (well not everything, I'd have killed for a cigarette but not going back to that habit!). Might not work every month or for everyone but definitely worth a try.

I usually get it about 3 days before and it stops the day before predicted ov but I don't track temps so can't be 100% on the day of ov just going by apps and opks. Definitely get busy just incase!

Hi everyone, I would like to join! I’m on CD22/7dpo today. Caved and bought the Clearblue Ovulation Monitor this cycle, which I seem to be getting on with after trying not tracking for a while. My AF is due on the 16th, I do have a Xmas do on the 14th. So aiming to test before so I have a definite answer before. Very much hoping for a christmas baby Star Am experiencing sore breasts which isn’t unusual for me however is fairly early considering my AF is 9 days away. TWW and symptom spotting is a killer. What DPO do you test on?

mightbeyesmightbeno · 07/12/2021 12:28

@Theresamagicalplace that makes total sense with when they say that you can conceive - few days before much more likely than few days after O. And I think my body def follows that trend too so I suspect my O pains (which aren't there anymore anyway) were just random pains. Oh well, I'll leave the rest of the months activities in DH hands ... he'll be pleased 😂

mightbeyesmightbeno · 07/12/2021 12:31

Hi @Deartheoo ! Symptom spotting is awful isn't it?! I think because we're all expecting to feel changes we probably take more bite of things that usually happen anyway, just we don't normally notice them. Sounds like a good plan to test before your Xmas party ... from experience I'd say hold off until then if you can! A few days before should be a good indication. You can get tests that claim they can tell up to 6 days before though. Keep us posted when you test!

@mightbeyesmightbeno I know, I just never know what's real. And yes 100% I think the majority of the time I always have quite early/strong PMS symptoms but tell myself I've never had it before. I wish I could wait and do a touch later because have had some indents/false positives from FRER recently. But will have to bite the bullet, will keep you all updated.

mightbeyesmightbeno · 07/12/2021 13:42

@Deartheoo yes I had a false positive too (unless it was a chemical) last month. Disheartening. Only a week until 14th though so 🤞

mightbeyesmightbeno · 07/12/2021 13:45

Oh good! The pre-seed I ordered 2 weeks ago in time for my fertile window has just arrived! 😡 Ordered on 26th Nov!

Deartheoo · 07/12/2021 13:49

@mightbeyesmightbeno Sorry to hear it! The worst feeling. 🤞 for me

mightbeyesmightbeno · 08/12/2021 16:08

How's everyone doing today a?

OP posts:
kizzy97 · 08/12/2021 16:41

@mightbeyesmightbeno 5dpo today, got a bit of nausea and cramping but feel it's a little too early for anything yet so idk if it's just my mind playing tricks or not! How are you getting on? xx

mightbeyesmightbeno · 08/12/2021 16:45

@kizzy97 the mind tricks are terrible! Hoping that your symptoms are because you're going to get a BFP 🤞
I'm pretty convinced that I won't have conceived this month. Easier for me to think that way round! But I'm hopeful. Just hate the waiting game. At least 10 days until I'll test so a long time to go.

Doesn't help that a good friend is just a few weeks pregnant and I'm the only one who knows (other than her DH) so she's sharing all the details with me!

OP posts:
kizzy97 · 08/12/2021 17:27

@mightbeyesmightbeno I've got my fingers crossed for you, I know what you mean I tend to convince myself of that thinking it'll be a little easier if it's BFN but it never is!

Aww congrats to your friend! I've got people announcing pregnancies left, right and centre atm! Majority also with #2 funnily enough!

Mammma91 · 08/12/2021 17:48

Hi everyone. Can i join too? Had a misscarrige confirmed early November. Predicted ovulation date on my flo app is tomorrow (i have had a period since the misscarrige). Trying for baby no2 💙💜 I have DS age 2.

melbxldn · 08/12/2021 19:53

Same! It’s hard not to be just a tiny bit jealous even though it obviously doesn’t mean anything about us getting pregnant!

I thought I O’d yesterday but no temp rise yet so will try again tonight just in case.

I have so many Xmas parties over the TWW! What are you doing about drinks? I think I’ll try and relax and just have 1-2 as it’s annoying not to drink and find out BFN, especially after this year!

melbxldn · 08/12/2021 19:54

Sorry for your loss and good luck!

PoleFairy · 08/12/2021 20:22

@melbxldn honestly just drink as normal. I was (I think) 5 dpo last weekend and had 8 rum and cokes on an xmas night out. Normally I just have one two over the weekend. Most people I know have drunk as normal though out ttc. Friend of mine got married in the tww at 7dpo and was so smashed as her wedding was sick all the next day etc. Really dont think it makes a difference
