TTC December thread

This part is nearly as bad as the TTW - waiting for AF to be over and to be able to crack on!

By my calculations we'll all know before Christmas if the next cycle has been a success for us - so hopefully either way happiness or sadness there will be lots of opportunities for lovely family time x

I've suffered with MC before in my 20,s I had 5 in a row then 2 healthy text book pregnancies after so tbh I can sort of detach my self from the emotional side of it.

Never wanted another baby after my youngest so 13 yeats have gone by but I have a new partner now and would love another (I thought I'd never say that lol).

This was TTC 2 of really trying and fell pregnant but it was the weirdest cycle. I usually get my positive opk CD13 and ovulate shortly after however in November I got My positive CD18 and it didn't go negative until CD22. I was in shock when I was having wrestlers legs around 7dpo if I went from CD23 as 1dpo and then sore boots 10dpo so took a test and yep it was positive. Started to bleed around 3 days after the tiniest pale pink spotting for a few days and then it just got heavier and heavier.

Im not going to stop opk's until I see ig go negative because I'm wondering if I'm ovulating later and just assumed in previous cycles CD13 I will ovukate 14 hours after when really it could of stayed positive a few days.. if thatz how it works I confuse my self so its easy mess it up lol.

Wow I should of re read that back before posting. Rushing around this morning lol. Lots of spelling mistakes and I meant 24 hours not 14 🙈

I'd be a fertility miracle to point out exact hour of ovulation every month 😂 I also blame my new Samsung phone.

@Jayjane79 hahaha I think you'd be able to charge a fortune for that detailed knowledge! Exciting that you and your new partner have decided on another child :)
Yes, I find the OPKs more confusing than helpful sometimes!
I came home earlier with my DD from staying the night at my mums and mentioned to DH about a quickie during her nap. He wonders what has gotten into me... asks if I have an ulterior motive... I mention about O yesterday and this is probs last chance today for this month and it put him right off :(

Although he's obviously on board with TTC#2 and says how much he'd like another baby, I think psychologically for him sex is about sex and is he thinks about it being baby making I think it just doesn't do it for him 😂 . So am going to hope he forgets this conversation by tonight ... 🤞😂

I got a blazing positive on an OPK this morning. I’ve been taking evening primrose oil this month and have definitely noticed more EWCM so I’m confident that it works! Going to make sure we carry on DTD over the next 2-3 days and hope for the best.

OH's dad is in hospital really poorly, though doing better than he was.

Selfishly it means OH gets to stay home for longer, my fertile window starts tomorrow accord to the Premom app. My OPK's are getting darker. So fingers crossed. It's only our first month of trying though! However previously when trying I always caught quickly I just couldn't keep hold of them. So my nerves are shot! One min I'm excited the next I'm anxious. I would very much love to give OH his own child 🥰

Oh that’s great about the evening primrose oil, I’m going to try in January if no luck this cycle.

@oldermam I hope your FIL is ok. This is my first month using OPKs and still like 0.1-0.2 on Premom. Do you find they start getting darker or does it go from low to peak quite quickly? I think from previous cycles I should ovulate Tuesday but they are still super low so not sure as I also did a lot of travel and was sick so might be delayed?

It's the first month I've used them too! So I'm just as clueless 🙈😂

Hey everyone, I would like to join! CD12 today on my second cycle TTC. I am only now starting to track again, because I have honestly been really sad that it didn't work out the first time, just took the wind out of my sails. Then I also got really sick around the same time AF arrived and am only now starting to feel better. I couldn't temp at all because I had such high fevers, so I am a little bit worried that I don't have a baseline for my temps. On the first cycle I didn't ovulate until CD22, I hope I won't have to wait that long this time and that it was just because I had just come off birth control. We'll see I guess. Definitely not as excited and obsessed as I was the first cycle. Hoping for a Christmas Miracle, but I just have this sinking gut feeling that I am going to be one of those women for whom it just won't happen as easily as for everybody else..

@CrumchyLeafs welcome! Sorry to hear that you're feeling a little blue. I think keep optimistic is hard when you do everything right and it doesn't work. True to keep chin up. Are you using any other tracking or just temp?

Hi ladies, hope you’re all well!
Seeing as this is my first time ttc I’ve bought ovulation strips.
I’m due my period in 6 days. Yesterday I had period like cramps, and thought it’s too late to be ovulating? Done o test anyway and there was the faintest line, then this morning it’s darker, I can’t be ovulating now surely? Has anyone else had this? Now I feel like I’m definitely out 😩

Got my solid smiley yesterday although we only managed to do anything the first day of fertile period and yesterday so if I end up pregnant it'll be a miracle haha. Might try and get another go in today just to be safe (will have to be sly about it because any talk of ovulation kills the mood for him 😂) but he's not got the highest of drives at the minute so I might be pushing my luck haha. When you use the CB flashy face ones is it the same as normal opks where the solid smile means you'd ov within 12-48hrs?

Well 3dpo, finding myself feeling a little blue today, not overly sure why as this is only my 2nd cycle ttc xxx

@Annaxox who knows.... our bodies are a mystery! Are you regular ? How long are your cycles normally? I do know some people O quite late but not sure why

I think it's 12-24, although I could be wrong. It says on the leaflet but I'm not at home right now.
Have been doing a bit of reading around OPKs actually and quite a few threads on here where people have said positive on the strips but not on CB and vice versa. Very confusing. Making me think that I will just try to DTD as much as pos and not test next months.

@kizzy97 1 day behind you ... if I believe the CB with pre-used cassette :/ haha! DTD last night just incase (without DH being suss).

@mightbeyesmightbeno glad you managed to get another dtd in! We dtd 5 days in a row up to and including the predicted day of ovulation and every other day the week before (my DP keeps joking that it's going to fall off 😅😂) might try and get another couple in this week just to soothe my anxiety! xxx

@mightbeyesmightbeno I’m just confused now lol! My cycles are 28-30 days app says I’m due on Sunday. Will just have to see what happens I guess 😌 I’m not going to test unless I’m late as I don’t want to upset myself 😅

I'm 14 days late, I tested at 10 days , then 12 days then left it went to a theme park yesterday which must have shock everything up as today I tested again not thinking I would be as my periods are so out of sync so thought just a long cycle , we wasn't trying as such just decided if it happened it happened didn't think be so fast - I'll be about 6 weeks so very very early days.

Good luck to all , I would say just don't plan for it just go with the flow when you overthink it I believe it takes longer my friends who have tried to have a baby haven't managed too then they go away on holiday to relax and come home pregnant . Xx

Hi can I join? on the two week wait CD15 ovulated CD13. AF due 18th. First month trying so trying to not get carried away but oh to have a Christmas BBF 😍

Think I peaked Friday? So 4 strips up from the bottom. (Bottoms today)
We dtd wed,fri,sat,sun but today we’re both just knackered.
Do you think I’ve caught the peak?! Is there hope?!
Ttc sends me crazy I swear 😳 x

Wow that’s good going haha. I think I’m just going to try twice this cycle then will try again more consistently in the new year

OPK' question.

I work night shifts (nicu nurse) when would you do your ovulation tests? I've been kinda doing one when I get home around 8:30am and then when I wake around 3pm? They seem to be getting darker. My fertile window is from today according to my app.

What do you think?
