TTC December thread

This part is nearly as bad as the TTW - waiting for AF to be over and to be able to crack on!

By my calculations we'll all know before Christmas if the next cycle has been a success for us - so hopefully either way happiness or sadness there will be lots of opportunities for lovely family time x

I'm already working out which months we have to take a break to avoid due dates around my firsts birthday and Christmas, does anyone else do this or do you just say fuck it and see what happens?

I wanted to avoid my cousins wedding next May and my sisters wedding which is next June. Therefore I didn't start TTC until I was clear of these. Luckily my DD1 had her birthday in June as well so have passed that for next year. Hadn't thought about Xmas ... but if I don't fall pregnant by next Feb I guess I'll have to consider this ... 🤔 hadn't ever thought about it!

CD6 for me today, think this bit drags just as much as the 2ww 😂

Excuse the newbie question but I'm... what do you all use to test BBT? As in, is there a particular type of thermometer to look for?

@kizzy97 I'm also CD6, I know it just drags!

@ElleFreddie I've never tracked my BBT, but I assume any digital thermometer with one decimal place would do? Sorry, I'm probably not the best person to answer this.

Hi all , new here.

My cycles are really really odd I suffer quite bad with severe migraines and my hormones are all over the place ! I don't have set times I am due on I just come on atleast once a month sometimes twice !! So trying to work out ovulation dates etc is a nightmare.

I have had severe cramping , bloated and constipation for a few days usually I have a severe week long migraine by now with my normal time of the month coming along with the cramps etc .

However who knows !
Currently locked myself out of my house so lots of time for reading to catch up on this thread haha X

Thanks @Tinkerbell098 I just took my temp with my super cheap kitchen thermometer and it gave me three different results.. so I suspect I may have to invest in something a tad more high tech 😅

Next job is to obsessively read every post about BBT so that I know what to do!

I came off the pill after about 10 years on it in June. I then didn’t get my period until 02/10, and then again on 05/11 (35 day cycle so far).

I started using clear blue advanced OPK and have had flashing smileys for around 7/8 days now. I have a lot of cramping but so disheartened I’ve not had a solid smiley yet.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

@mightbeyesmightbeno I hadn't thought too much about it until I realised that if we didn't plan around it I'd end up with 4 solid months of expense at the end of the year 🙈. Hopefully none of us will need to even consider it though! This month is the month 🙌.

Currently on cd1 and so ready to be in the two week wait again haha

@ElleFreddie I deffo don't have the patience for temp testing so good on you if you do!

@Belmont92 I haven't used the ones which flash - although am going to this month as friend has given me some as she doesn't need anymore - but I do hear quite a few people say that they can flash for a long time if your hormone level pre ovulation is even slightly raised. So I've heard people have flashing for 8/9 days and then solid.

I'm a little anxious about this because if I see flashing I think I'll want to DTD all the time and then worried I'll exhaust DH and get fed up before I actually get a solid! Hopefully you'll get one soon xx

Thanks @mightbeyesmightbeno I’m hoping that’s the case as I have a lot of orenovulation symptoms! I started DTD when I got the flashing smiley every other day, and sometimes every day. Think my husband is just wiped out now 😂 thanks so much for your help

@Theresamagicalplace I was someone who was like ‘can’t ttc dec/jan/mar because if various birthdays/Christmas’
But then I got so stressed out and it’s not happening as quickly as I thought so my husband said fuck it were just keep trying. Who cares when baby’s birthday is because it will be there special day regardless of what day in the year.
So yeah, we’re just trying regardless if when the due dates will be! x

Only last week! Doc said it's ok to go ahead and try. Using OPK's daily. Just until
Period arrives

Have a history of mc and early births! Diagnosed with a bloody clotting disorder. I was super fertile before my coil went in ten years ago, but obviously I've aged since lol

Hey girls, I have three children and this is my first cycle ttc baby4 I’m on cycle day 12 we dtd twice on Saturday. And he’s away for two weeks, so I’m not very hopeful

There's always a tiny bit of hope until AF arrives but shift work / partners being away etc is really crap :(

I'm CD5 today and just finishing period. Have been full of cold all week so hoping it clears up over the weekend and next week we are back to normal by mid week so we can get cracking again.!

We’re cycle buddies @mightbeyesmightbeno, I’m also CD5. My periods usually last 6 days but it seems to have stopped which is strange unless it resumes later. I started taking evening primrose oil on CD1 so I hope it doesn’t mess with my cycles.

Please may I join? I’m on CD1 and this will be our first cycle ttc so very excited. I’m a bit of a rookie but did track using opks last month out of curiosity - although hubby doesn’t want me to get obsessed with tracking etc for the first few cycles!

@mightbeyesmightbeno thank you for welcoming me! I know, it’s already a bit of a mad house if I’m honest We both decided just one more would be lovely. None of our other 3 were planned. So it feels strange planning to have our 4th. I’m on cycle day 14, I want to test before period is due but I will try to test as close to it as possible. When is everyone planning to take tests?

This is cycle 2 for us ttc #2. According to my app I should ovulate tomorrow. Had a little EWCM yesterday but nothing so far today and my OPK's are still low. If it doesn't work this cycle I think I will try preseed next cycle. 🤔
Does anyone else get just a little EWCM?
