@kizzy97 @Peonies94 @Tinkerbell098 @jhodd @EvelynSalt starting this from those of us that are out this month and ready to go for December!

This part is nearly as bad as the TTW - waiting for AF to be over and to be able to crack on!

By my calculations we'll all know before Christmas if the next cycle has been a success for us - so hopefully either way happiness or sadness there will be lots of opportunities for lovely family time x

Hi @LittleMysSister
I’m also trying evening primrose oil this month :) that’s reassuring to hear about the EWCM not necessarily needed to be noticeable. Do you stay hydrated enough? I don’t think I drink enough water which probably doesn’t help.
Thinking about it, some months I notice a fair amount of EWCM but the last two months we’ve been TTC I’ve hardly noticed any at all!

LittleMysSister · 29/11/2021 17:12

@Moonshine160 Umm I think I am hydrated enough, I'm not a huge water drinker but I do drink a lot of water via tea, which apparently counts. And soft drinks :) Maybe I should try having more actual water Confused.

Tbh I find it so hard to judge the CM side of things, especially when DTD really regularly as (sorry for grimness!) obviously it's not usually only my CM down there!

The only thing I have noticed with any certainty is that around CD19&20 I have quite a lot of watery CM/discharge, to the point where it can feel like when your period comes on, you know? This has been about 36hrs after positive OPks, so I'm wondering if that is my ovulation, but I wouldn't say it's egg white-like at all :-.

kizzy97 · 30/11/2021 08:07

@mightbeyesmightbeno thank you for that reassurance! I'm meant to ovulate on Friday and then my smear is on Saturday so was worried I might be out! Just nervous now because I've heard lots of horror stories about having done, pretty sure I'll be fine though! xxx

mightbeyesmightbeno · 30/11/2021 08:14

@kizzy97 horror stories in what way? Relating to conception or just in general? Soooo hard to do but honestly the best thing is to be relaxed and not tense!

First OPK this cycle this morning... nothing yet.

Day 5 of AF for me (which is usually my last day) yet I’ve had awful cramps and sorry for TMI but is very heavy! This happened to be last month, a really light period for 4ish days and then suddenly got heavy day 5 and didn’t go away until day 7. Not sure what’s going on! Confused

kizzy97 · 30/11/2021 09:37

@mightbeyesmightbeno Sorry I should have specified I meant my smear 😅 In terms of conception and being pregnant I just get anxious that something will go wrong, when I was pregnant with DS I was horribly worried but I'm thinking that might have partially been because he's my first and I didn't fully know what to expect? But I know it's a common worry with many women as well.

What cd are you on now? xxx

MummyBear405 · 30/11/2021 10:58

@mightbeyesmightbeno me too! Are you using any sort of app or tracker?

I've been using Flo and it's usually pretty good at predicting when AF is due so just using OPKs to be sure. If the app is right then I should ovulate around 8th Dec

Theresamagicalplace · 30/11/2021 11:02

Got my first flashing smiley face on a clear blue ovulation test today....on cycle day 7 Hmm seems very early to me but I guess today's the start of the fertile window.

@kizzy97 I was terrified the first time I went for a smear after hearing stories of people needing gas and air and all sorts. Honestly it was so easy, when they ask you to drop your knees breathe out and relax every muscle and just focus on your breathing. If you've had a baby and the internal examinations that come with that then you'll manage this no problem! Good luck!

kizzy97 · 30/11/2021 12:31

@Theresamagicalplace thank you! Part of me was thinking that it won't be too different as the examinations you have with having a baby! But obviously you hear the horror stories and then slowly make yourself worry 😅

Ooo seems like you might have a shorter cycle this month? Either way hopefully this is your month!🤞

mightbeyesmightbeno · 30/11/2021 14:43

@MummyBear405 yes I use flo too and it's pretty accurate! CD9 for me now.

@kizzy97 yeh, they wouldn't do it if you were actually pregnant, just incase it stimulates the cervix. But you'll be totally fine beforehand.

Still no flashing smiley for me yet - CD10, which I'm quite pleased about as feel really crappy - cold / covid booster / lack of sleep = feel pretty terrible at the moment. Hoping by the weekend I feel better and this would be perfect timing!

Hey girls, think I’m abit ahead of everyone here? 7/8dpo hoping to have a positive for December. Though I’m not feeling very hopeful. No symptoms at all so far. But then like I said we only dtd 3 or 4 days before I was supposed to ovulate Hmm wishing everyone here the very best of luck, and hoping you all get your BFP Grin

Bundaberg84 · 01/12/2021 10:54

Hiya, I'm back, thanks for reserving a seat in this thread! I had to take a little break after AF arrived last cycle, thought about not tracking anything but decided against it. I think it would have made me even more nervous ;)
Did a bloodwork, OB-GYN was pleased with all results, so there's that. Even though I see very different results when it comes to the AMH - according to some sites my test result is good, according to others it's really bad, but I think my OB-GYN knows what he's doing. And the fact that I got pregnant twice this year is a good sign I guess.

I'm 2dpo today, so back to the 2ww. I have to be honest, even though I take my vitamins and whatnot but I really haven't been good when it comes to food and drinks. Christmas markets opened and I love me a mulled wine. But I feel like if I can't go out and have a glass of wine here or a mulled wine there, I will drive myself nuts.

Not out until AF arrives! And dont forget that sperm can live for 5 days waiting to fertilise the egg so there always hope x

@mightbeyesmightbeno I use these so can explain. If you got a solid smiley that is your LH surge, so you should ov next 24-72hrs.

When you use the reader the first time you ALWAYS get a negative, unless it is your LH surge and you’ll get a solid smiley straight away. Then the next day it measures it off your baseline and you get a flashing if your oestrogen has increased. You’ll never get a flashing first up because it needs to compare the previous reading. This suggests to me you started testing too late, if you’d done the day before as well you probably would have got a flashing the second day. That said, I’ve tested every day and sometimes just got a solid - that can happen if you get an oestrogen and LH surge quite close together. But as long as you get the LH surge youre good, the flashies just give you a heads up!

Tonight and tomorrow morning should be perfect timing

LittleMysSister · 03/12/2021 10:36

@mightbeyesmightbeno I am under the impression that the CB OPKs with the smiley faces use your own individual baseline and the reader remembers is, so not sure you can pass a reader on?

However, I have also gone from O to static smiley both last cycle and this, so it can happen :) I think you only get the flashing smileys if you start using it a few days before your surge so that it can detect a gradual rise, if you only do it when you're already on top of your peak then it will just detect that.

I got a static smiley this week after a O the day before and have taken that as my peak.

Tinkerbell098 · 03/12/2021 11:24

@mightbeyesmightbeno I agree with @melbxldn and @LittleMysSister I've had it go from empty to solid when I've tested too late, as it didn't have much of a baseline for oestrogen to compare against. This cycle however, I've tested early and got two empty ones, followed by three flashing and yet to see a solid. I feel like I've missed the peak. Has anyone else had this? I think they say if you get a flashing for a while, stop testing as you won't hit the peak that cycle?

LittleMysSister · 03/12/2021 11:35

@Tinkerbell098 I think you're meant to have a few days flashing aren't you? Prior to the static?

My impression was if you use it from the recommended day of your cycle (think it's different based on cycle length isn't it?) you should have empty, then flashing for a few days in the lead up to the peak to show you your fertile days, and then finally the static.

Tinkerbell098 · 03/12/2021 11:47

@LittleMysSister hope so! I usually only get about 2 flashing before a solid, so was surprised I had a third today. I was hoping for a solid as this is the last day we get to DTD for this cycle as I'm away for a couple of weeks. Also, there's no sign of EWCM this month either, so something's really odd with my cycle this month.

Tinkerbell098 · 03/12/2021 12:01

@LittleMysSister this is what they say on the CB website:

Seen more than 9 High Fertility days?

If you see more than 9 High Fertility days you may wish to stop testing this cycle.

  • If you started testing on the correct day for your usual cycle length and you see 9 or more days of High Fertility, it is unlikely that you will see Peak Fertility in this cycle.
  • Occasionally some women have an LH surge that is too low for the test to detect or they do not ovulate during a cycle and therefore they don’t see Peak Fertility. This is not unusual and may happen in approximately 8% of cycles. If you do not see Peak Fertility for 3 consecutive cycles, we recommend you discuss this with your doctor.

seems that they suggest if you see 9 peak days, and you've tested early enough, it's unlikely you'll see a peak. but it can happen i guess!

Tinkerbell098 · 03/12/2021 12:02

Sorry was meant to say if you see 9 high days*
