@Juno231 I know how that feels - I was on another thread with ughmaybenot as was, and another lady - one’s recently delivered and the other is 16 weeks.

I keep getting the BFPs, just can’t keep a heartbeat going past about 8 weeks. Really hoping this is the one!

thislittlebird · 26/11/2021 16:23

@Sunbird24 @Juno231 @Marvellouslymadmum same. Feels like almost everyone on my old threads is pregnant, some will be due before I even start ivf, some have babies already. I find it really hard. Also my friends, they’ll probably be onto baby number 2 soon. Leftover Donkeys R Us.

Good luck Sunbird, enjoy your fries!

paintfairy · 26/11/2021 17:04

@Sunbird24 congratulations on the transfer! Fingers crossed.
@Juno231 sorry! 🤣

Marvellouslymadmum · 26/11/2021 18:06

@thislittlebird leftover donkeys r us 😂 made me lol

@Sunbird24 maybe this will be the sticky one!

@Sunbird24 fingers crossed for you! Enjoy the fries!

Motherofkittens28 · 26/11/2021 21:25

@Sunbird24 are they keeping your progesterone up with supplements and checking your thyroid etc. Make sure they give your little one every possible chance!

Sunbird24 · 26/11/2021 21:43

@Motherofkittens28 I’m on cyclogest again, and will get some more low dose aspirin. No mention of any extra tests though.

crazycatlady1981 · 27/11/2021 07:10

@Marvellouslymadmum @Juno231 @Sunbird24 @Annny27 @thislittlebird 🙋🏻‍♀️ still a leftover extremely infertile donkey here too!! Two failed transfers in and I think I’m more likely going to adopt a donkey than have a baby at this rate!! 🤣

@Sunbird24 yay for the transfer!! Hoping this one is your sticky bean!! 💕

kerrym87 · 27/11/2021 09:52

@Sunbird24 have they tried aspirin for you? sometimes it can help as sometimes tiny clots can form in placenta (the suggested it to my friend who got to 9 weeks then lost too). @thislittlebird I've had 3 cycles letrozole which has done bugger all for my cycles (1st one 50 days, subsequent 2 35 ish) and they've booked ivf in Jan based on a 28 day cycle which won't work as when they said I'm due period I'll be 14 days into a new cycle. Gona have to ring them Monday (period due 2moro) and sort it out as put annual leave in, been ttc 26 months and kinda fed up now, left over donkey here too! Don't feel very positive right now.
@CycleGirl20 congrats, so pleased for you x

thislittlebird · 27/11/2021 10:53

@crazycatlady1981 ngl, adopting a donkey actually sounds more fun than all this shite lmao. I do like donkeys.

@kerrym87 yeah, I’m not very positive either. I can’t imagine ever having a baby, being pregnant and so on. Feels alien, like something someone else does. Interventions like Letrozole not working is very disheartening. For me Letrozole was very predictable, started it on day two or three and was ready to trigger by day 10 roughly each time. The progesterone has made my cycles slightly longer, about 30 days. Yet even when ovulating two eggs each month we can’t seem to get them anywhere near to a bloody sperm.

That sounds frustrating if it’s so unpredictable, especially with leave needed. When have they booked you in for? We might be doing ivf around the same time. I say that assuming Guys will ever respond to all the info they asked me to send 🤪

Sunbird24 · 27/11/2021 12:30

My mum has asked if I’d like an animal adoption for Christmas, tempted to suggest a donkey…

I did try aspirin last time but it turned out that baby had a chromosome defect so I doubt it would have helped - will definitely try again with this one just in case it was a different issue with any of the previous ones.

thislittlebird · 27/11/2021 12:54

@Sunbird24 a donkey would be ideal! I’m a bit clueless on these things, how did they know there was a chromosomal defect?

paintfairy · 27/11/2021 13:03

@crazycatlady1981 I would love to adopt a baby donkey! 🤣

Sunbird24 · 27/11/2021 14:26

@thislittlebird I had tests after my last miscarriage, they managed to collect (I’m assuming) the bigger of the twins so they checked for everything and it had trisomy 6, so even if it had survived to birth it would have been very very poorly. Took 9 weeks to get the results back otherwise I’d have tried again sooner. Might be why I also can’t imagine myself with either a wiggly bump or a baby!

thislittlebird · 27/11/2021 15:25

@Sunbird24 ah ok, I thought that might be how they test for these things but wasn’t sure. It’s very hard to imagine after so much time trying to make it happen. Recently I’ve been sort of thinking am I destined to be childless, I know there’s no such thing as being destined as such but it’s just so difficult to envision. Then I spiral into worrying about my/our age. It’s frustrating.

kerrym87 · 28/11/2021 10:26

@thislittlebird mid Jan ish to start stims /the said period due around 16th Jan (which it won't be) I think I'll have to take norethisterone to bring it in line I've already got the medication just need to get them to say yes use it!

Juno231 · 28/11/2021 10:36

@kerrym87 I'm planning on contacting my clinic for the go ahead to use norethisterone for my Jan cycle as well - was thinking I need to wait until my Dec cycle to start first though. When will you ask yours?

kerrym87 · 28/11/2021 22:02

@Juno231 I'm ringing tomorrow to sort out extending next period (due end of december) so it'll arrive to fit in with January's plan. I like a plan in advance and that way as period due end dec/beginning Jan may well be on a weeknd/Bank holiday

Juno231 · 28/11/2021 22:39

@kerrym87 yup I've got the same issue, currently AF is due 31st/1st. I was thinking I'll hold off until next cycle to ring though in case I get fobbed off about guessing too far in advance.

thislittlebird · 28/11/2021 23:06

@Juno231 it’s cd 1 for me today so my next December period is due 28/12 but it’ll probably be a little earlier. I haven’t heard back from the buggers since I sent that form off. I’ll wait until December and I’ll confirm they received it.

Annny27 · 29/11/2021 12:18

Soooo period arrived BUT no spotting it just came so obviously the endometriosis removal helped which I am really chuffed about :)

BUT nhs saying 2 years now for ivf so i have asked them to appeal and will hear back in 8 weeks and then if they say no we are going private in February or whenever they get back to us as I am NOT waiting untill may 2023 fml

But question is for private ladies- how do you go about doing it , what package did you get, how long did process take etc.

I am so blessed that financially this is an option if we save a bit but bloody angry that it has to be this way when others are afforded nhs ivf :/

thislittlebird · 29/11/2021 13:14

@Annny27 that’s really interesting. I didn’t realise endo caused spotting. I have low progesterone but no spotting, so I’m always interested in this spotting issue so many women seem to have. Definitely appeal since you’ve been in the process for some time already.

It’s very quick privately tbh. You need to research which clinics you’d be interested in and their prices, book a consultation or two to see who you want to go with and what they’d recommend, and then sometimes they have Access packages available where you get some discounts for multiple rounds. Clinics like Care do their own packages similar to Access. But it’s all very fast in my experience. For us they wanted my husband to have dna frag tests too but if you don’t have male factor that’s likely not an issue.

I think we could have started within a month or two of having a consultation, but a consultations can take a few weeks to get an appointment for sometimes, especially if a doctor is popular.

thislittlebird · 29/11/2021 13:15

Also you’re younger so you’ll have more Access packages available to you at cheaper prices.

We’re waiting for our nhs round and will go private if that fails.

Sunbird24 · 29/11/2021 18:00

I had my very first appointment with Care on 20 May, tests, drugs etc over the next couple of months then eggs collected 7 Oct and an embryo transferred 12 Oct last year. I only paid for one cycle as I was 42 but as @thislittlebird said they have other packages.

Annny27 · 29/11/2021 19:42

@sunbird24 that's quite quick then and I guess because I have had all the tests on nhs it will just be a case of the medicine etc etc. I do need a baseline scan however though I think becaus not sure I have had one done yet - I think we have a care near me or a few of the tfp (the fertility partnership) clinics (we are South east) so I am looking into their success rates etc.

@thislittlebird I had a quick Google and research says to have ivf 6 months after laparscopy which I had. (Well from 6 - 25 months) so I guess we have a few months of natural trying before that anyway! yes the access Fertility packages look quite good dont they! I really hope your nhs round works! Do they do any frozen transfers if you get any frosties and your fresh transfer doesnt work or will you have to transfer your frosties to a private clinic to do the FET?
