Hope this works girls, haven’t done this before, we’ve run out of space on the other thread.
@LittleWins what day are you on? It happens, can get very annoying fast.
I’m only on day 14 now but I have ovulated very early before, around day 10-11. This is the first month using the 4 day Clearblue things vs the 2 day ones where they just show the static smilie. I might be driving myself a bit mad with the testing tbh.

thislittlebird · 12/01/2022 14:57

@LittleWins I had that last month, a shorter follicular phase, whereas this month I’m back to my more standard longer phase. CD17 today.

You can probably not worry about testing to much as long as you’re trying regularly.

You’re right and I’ve only got one Ov test left then I’m not going to repurchase. Or try not to Grin

The good news is egg white this evening so DTD before he heads off for a stag do. Fingers crossed we’ve got the timing right Daffodil

thislittlebird · 14/01/2022 12:54

@LittleWins good news! We didn’t dtd again and we probably should have but were tired the day after likely ovulation.

In other news, my ivf drugs came today 😬

Husband immediately locked the sharps box and then had to have a fight with it to open it again. I walked away and left him to it lol

@thislittlebird ooh all getting real for you now, I'm so excited for you!!

Carla2601 · 14/01/2022 20:30

Hi everyone, and welcome to everyone who’s new since I was last here. Sorry you’re here but it is super helpful (more on that later....shout out @thislittlebird). Apologies for my absence loads of stuff going on, not much of it good 🙈.

@thislittlebird how are you feeling? Sounds like you’ve had a positive couple of weeks since I’ve been gone. Do you have a date to go in yet? Have you had to start your medication?

@Marvellouslymadmum how are you getting on?

Spot of news from me. We went to see the famous Mr Ramsey (who I would HIGHLY recommend and we only saw thanks to your recommendation @thislittlebird I owe you!). He thinks he knows the problem (within 30 seconds of sitting down with us). Basically OH is missing a crucial pipe. He was born missing it. It can’t be repaired. Bad news is our only option forever is ICSI. Good news is he reckons we’ve got a high chance it’ll work (this is based only on OH as he hasn’t seen my results or examined me so who knows really!!) and he said OH actually has really good everything, it’s just this missing pipe means everything dies or gets severely damaged on way out. He hopes we can start ICSI in April so I’ll keep you all posted. Appreciate this might sound like bad news but I’m feeling pretty positive. He gave us a high % chance of ending up with a family and at this stage given what we’d been told by the scanner and doctor there (which was horrible) that’s all I care about and whilst getting pregnant naturally would be amazing I just have to forget about that for me and I really don’t mind I’m happy to have answers and a plan.

Happy Friday to you all - I’ve been thinking about you and hope you’re all feeling ok x

madeleine85 · 14/01/2022 20:51

@Carla2601 that is actually really good news I think? You have a real definitive answer and a way forward!!! No more shooting in the dark. Hoping you can start the process ASAP x

Carla2601 · 14/01/2022 21:07

@madeleine85 thank you I agree! How are you getting on?

thislittlebird · 14/01/2022 21:32

@Marvellouslymadmum yes, very real! But I'm a little nervous I won't lie, mostly about my doctor I'm not confident in and OHSS.

@Carla2601 ahhh, that's great news that he was helpful! Did he do the physical exam (with the hopping up and down!) and diagnose that way? He's a very nice man too. Will he need surgical sperm retrieval to get around the missing pipe? Is there a reason he said April in particular?

What had this scanner and doctor said???

We do have a chance of it working but I really can't rely on that being an option for us after over 2 years, it took me a while to adjust to the idea of ICSI but I'm here now and it is what it is. Not started meds yet, probably start around the 26th and in the meantime I'm busy posting anxious stuff on the infertility boards lmao. I kind of just want to get on with it, but we have a couple of weeks yet!

thislittlebird · 14/01/2022 22:15

There’s a guy on Live at the Apollo doing a bit on terrible ttc sex, I’m howling 😂

Carla2601 · 14/01/2022 22:15

@thislittlebird there was no hopping but I really REALLY wish there had been 😂😂! Just a standard examination (sadly it seems!)

He was so so nice. He spotted how great our GP had been in the notes/timeline and dictated a letter for her to thank her and explain what he’d diagnosed and why to help her know more about it which I thought was really brilliant.

Yes surgical retrieval, any other way out and it gets stuck or damaged. I know what you mean it is what it is and for me it’s sort of weirdly nice knowing it’ll never actually work for us so we might as well never try. Even though it’s sad it saves a lot of heart ache. We’ll be two years in June and the fact there’s a chance (albeit slim I know it never seems to work first time) that I could be pregnant by the time we get to that mark gives me a lot of hope (I thought there was zero chance). I’m really scared of the meds I haven’t had any talks about it yet, my hormones were good they said but I’m guessing I’ll still need them. I’ve never had to take anything and I’m a real wuss about it 😂. I have only had two days to get used to the idea so I’m sure I’ll be fine and just get on with it.

26th is my OH birthday so I’ll definitely remember and I’ll be thinking about you! I’m v hopeful on your behalf x

thislittlebird · 14/01/2022 22:33

@Carla2601 it’s still a running joke in our house where he like made dh hop up and down with his trousers round his ankles while doing the physical and I was on the other side of the curtain trying not to laugh.

I take it the surgical removal will be between now and April?

The meds will be fine. Have you spoken to anyone about that stuff yet and had AMH done etc? That will give you a bit more information but basically everyone has the drugs, just different quantities/types depending on your AMH and other test results. There is something called natural ivf but it’s probably not really the ideal way of doing it because it’s all a numbers game and you want the medication so that you can produce more mature eggs and increase your chances of fertilisation and success.

I’ve been on some of the drugs in a low key way for ovulation induction and they were fine tbh.

I’m on a good thread called ‘fertility appointments and beyond’ if you fancy joining it, everyone is a different stage but lots of useful info there. And dogs lol

madeleine85 · 14/01/2022 23:43

@Carla2601 thanks for checking in :) I am 6-7 weeks, had my first scan this week and there was a heartbeat which is all we can ask for really. I am still worried as I don't feel nearly as sick as with my DD, but it is early, and i'm much more neurotic this time around. Just coasting it out until we can relax a little at 12 weeks (I hope). It's so good to see you guys getting some movement forward on this thread, it's really heartwarming! @thislittlebird any thread with dogs is a good thread I think!

Marvellouslymadmum · 15/01/2022 10:35

@Carla2601 that's really good news! It's always good when you know what it is and something can be done about it.
And on another plus side it means all your dtd is for fun again and no scheduled shenanigans 😂

I'm good thanks cd26 approx 4dpo on my second round of clomid, so later ovulation again but it seems to have worked at bringing it on stronger from what I can tell even if the on time part didn't work!

@thislittlebird I'm sure once it all starts you'll feel a lot better about it

MargotChateau · 16/01/2022 17:10

@thislittlebird @ElsieG3m @Marvellouslymadmum @KatRee @Anxiouswannabe @Carla2601 @LittleWins , catching up on all of the news, since I was last on here, been swamped with work and life. Hope you all had a great Christmas & New Year and crossing fingers its our year!

thislittlebird · 16/01/2022 17:14

@MargotChateau I was wondering how you were getting on, how's things been?

MargotChateau · 16/01/2022 17:45

I had a break from TTC as didn't want to get pregnant (and miscarry again) and lose our NHS spot, the month off was BLISS. Started duostim just before Christmas and next week I'll be having the 2nd prostap shot. Crossing fingers and toes! How about you, did you have a nice holidays? x

thislittlebird · 16/01/2022 20:10

@MargotChateau makes sense, when is your nhs round starting? Or it’s started already? I don’t recognise the drug names but maybe you’re downregging?

Holiday was ok, cancelled the January one as I wasn’t sure what was going on in scotland restrictions wise.

I start ivf stims in about 10 days, all feels very unreal!

KatRee · 21/01/2022 18:01

Hi @MargotChateau - thanks for checking in. I've not been in this forum much recently as I've pretty much given up on ttc the old-fashioned way and now just on count down to next ivf cycle. How is yours doing?

I hope everyone is ok as can be and sorry so many still here. I am very up and down atm. Some days feel quite hopeful that it could still miraculously happen, some days feel like I'm starting to accept that it might not. Yesterday someone I manage at work told me she was pregnant with no 2 after 'not even trying' and later on I realised she's due when I would have been if our first ivf cycle had worked and the unfairness of it all floored me for a bit. So I thought I'd come in here for a little rant

thislittlebird · 21/01/2022 18:19

@KatRee hope you’re ok. I’ve kind of been following you from afar because I’m on the infertility boards a fair bit. Your experience sounds really stressful but my fingers are crossed for your next round. I’m quite worried about starting next week because I know there’s no guarantees. Are you going into cycle three?

I had a similar experience with a colleague recently. She told me she was trying in autumn sometime and then again in December she said the same thing. She knew we were starting ivf soon. What she didn’t tell me she was going on maternity leave in early Jan and finding out second hand kinda floored me when it came from someone else at work who is not as close to her. I feel like she has what I wanted. She got the promotion to her equivalent role, I came runner up to mine, she got to take maternity leave and I never have been able to take it because I can’t get pregnant years later, despite taking the job with the aim in mind of trying to conceive not long after I joined. I’m gutted and I couldn’t go to her mat leave call. And then another one is now on mat leave. It’s hard to accept the unfairness of it all.

KatRee · 21/01/2022 18:48

Thanks @thislittlebird - I've seen one or two posts from you on the infertility forums too. I find that forum helpful when you have a fairly specific concern- there's nearly always someone who's experienced something similar, but yeah, next cycle will be third fresh one and I'm feeling a bit left behind as most people seem to be on first or second, or they get more embryos than me so will do a FET whilst I'm gearing up for another egg collection next month.

I will say this whole thing has taught me I'm more resilient that I thought I could be! But still, just want it to be my turn now! I also partly went into my line of work when I did and held out for a promotion before seriously ttc so I'd be in a good place to support a family

Yes, the unfairness is hard to deal with. I actually saw something you'd posted somewhere a little while ago that I really related to along the lines of not really having the ideal family growing up either. My dad moved abroad when I was 4 so I feel like I never had a dad like everyone else and now I don't get to have kids either.

Anyway, what I do have is wine and cheese and someone to share them with, so that's my Friday night sorted

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/01/2022 18:48

@KatRee that sucks, it does seem so unfair that some people don't even try and we are all stuck here just waiting! Hope you're ok

I'm lucky in the respect I don't have colleagues as such but I am on groups with thousands of other beauty therapists and nail technicians and there's always lots pregnant. Someone I did my cause with announced her second pregnancy in as many years yesterday 😞

KatRee · 21/01/2022 18:53

Thank you @Marvellouslymadmum - there's just no escaping it is there? I used to love hearing baby news as well, but now every happy announcement feels like a twist of the knife.

I hope you are ok too, I know you've had a difficult time with the clomid proving disappointing. I am thinking of you and keeping my fingers crossed for you too-

Any pregnancy announcements from this group would be amazing of course! We are on the same team!

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/01/2022 18:56

@KatRee I'm the same, baby news used to be good news and now it just makes me sad!

I'm ok, got a consultant call on Monday so hoping for them to up the dose then

RugbyGirl1 · 21/01/2022 19:10

A good friend announced their 2nd pregnancy today - floored me a bit. All my friends now have 2 or the second is on the way so yep, feeling the unfairness as well!!

I think the covid booster is messing with my cycle this month too. I had random spotting dpo6, and again now at dpo9. But it's now stopped. It's not unusual for me to spot cd9 for AF to start 10dpo but this spotting is different and like I saw, stopped. Argh!!!

Anyway, sorry for the rant! Just been one of those weeks I guess!

@thislittlebird glad your meds have turned up - must be feeling a bit real now?

@Carla2601 you must be relieved to have some sort of way forward now and answers!
