Hope this works girls, haven’t done this before, we’ve run out of space on the other thread.

@Carla2601 the amazon deliveries of fertility stuff really are a plague. I'd buy a lot less if it meant going to the shop each time.

I don't like the, erm, scrapey bit in a smear, whereas internal scans are all well lubed and just mildly odd when they're delving around in there with the camera.

@ElsieG3m hey, nice to see you back. I agree with @AnxiousWannabe that you should prioritise your health. Your daughter would much rather have a healthy mum than a sibling, I can guarantee that. Focus on the natural options or have a break. 37 is still plenty of time for it to work, but a break from ttc might be good perhaps? If you're putting less pressure on yourself. I really think the family might need to be told to put a lid on it, it's not fair on you.

We may all have bad eggs, who knows, but 37 isn't too old. But my AMH is the same as yours and I might be PCO/S, it's quite high, but not as high as some people with it but quality can deteriorate. Hard to know. But you conceive easily, so I'm tempted to agree with Lesley Regan.

I know about isolflavones but I've never taken them because of the possible PCO and high AMH issue. Not sure how I feel about trying things when don't know what they're changing in there.

@tryingtobeamama welcome to the group! There's no reason you'll have issues, most people mid-late 30s don't. All my friends didn't.

@Marvellouslymadmum oh, so you've had no normal cycle progesterone test, that's annoying Hmm. Have you booked in now?

Carla2601 · 21/10/2021 16:18

@thislittlebird ok well I’d been worried about that so that’s a comfort thanks. Hopefully won’t need it but I like to prepare for the worst.

And you are SO right - I had to buy pregnancy tests once and I felt so naughty like the customer service assistant might be judging me, clearly still see myself as 14 😂🙈!

thislittlebird · 21/10/2021 16:21

@Carla2601 that reminds me. Sainsbury’s put their own brand ovulation tests in one of those plastic anti-theft boxes and I have to request that they unleash them for me. Some folks are clearly dead keen on OPKs😭.

Carla2601 · 21/10/2021 16:24

@ElsieG3m having a lot to be grateful for doesn’t make not getting something you want more than anything any easier I don’t think so be kind to yourself. I’m up to....in all honesty I don’t know. Started trying in June 2020 and had to stop as my husband lost his job. Started again in feb this year and still nothing. Turned 35 on Monday so I called first thing (that’s the kind of fun birthday gal I am!) and made my appointment and I have the GP on Tuesday and hopefully blood tests the following week so I will keep you all posted but could be a while till I know anything I guess x

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/10/2021 21:10

@thislittlebird it's cd1 today but didn't start until this evening so I figure if I take my first clomid tablet tomorrow night that will be cd2! I'll phone the hospital tomorrow to get the scan booked in and I have paperwork for day 21 tests so can just pop down and get bloods done at hopefully the right time! My Lp seems to have settled down to 14/15 days now so if I go for 7 days after ovulation that should be correct for day 21! I even had a 28 day cycle this month 🎉 they've started doing that with ovulation tests and pregnancy tests now must be because they're so expensive!

thislittlebird · 21/10/2021 22:14

@Marvellouslymadmum isn't the first day you wake up with it day 1? I think that's how they count it, anyway.

Working out day 21 is a pain the arse and I'm impressed I got it right this month, considering I was triggered. If Clomid works like Letrozole then it might make you ovulate early and have a shorter cycle, be prepared!

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/10/2021 22:24

@thislittlebird everyone seems to have a different opinion! I was thinking if I take it about 10pm tomorrow that'll be over 24 hours since it started 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think I'll get straight in the opk as soon as af is gone, I know some people ovulate early on it and some late!

thislittlebird · 21/10/2021 22:32

@Marvellouslymadmum Ask the clinic when you speak to them, they should tell you, but that’s been what they’ve told me anyway.

Yeah can’t hurt to track opks straight off!

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/10/2021 22:34

@thislittlebird that's what I was thinking! Some people say it's best to take clomid at night so you get less side effects but I'll check with them anyway see what they say

thislittlebird · 21/10/2021 22:40

@Marvellouslymadmum Kay00 on another thread said she got no symptoms, you might be lucky! I didn’t get any on the Letrozole beyond a few small cramps.

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/10/2021 22:52

@thislittlebird I guess I'll soon find out! I'm actually looking forward to this, I know I should be going in with no expectations but I can't help it 🤦🏼‍♀️

thislittlebird · 21/10/2021 23:02

@Marvellouslymadmum it can’t be helped, but then you have hope and it’s all downhill from there 😂

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/10/2021 08:45

@thislittlebird this is my last chance really so if it doesn't work the only hope is a lap cancellation sooner rather than later when there's no eggs left!

WillowTree0721 · 23/10/2021 09:30

Hi all please can I hop on this thread. I'm 36 (nearly 37). I have a 6 year old and have been trying to conceive number 2 for a year. I've had 2 chemicals and one MMC in that time. I'm a waiting for my period to start as I've just had a chemical (confirmed by bloods). I have a short luteal phase and have been prescribed progesterone supplements. I also took clomid for the first time last month so will be taking it again this month and preying for a pregnancy that sticks 🤞🏻 xx

thislittlebird · 23/10/2021 11:05

@Marvellouslymadmum have your started the clomid? Or is that today?

@WillowTree0721 welcome aboard! I’m on progesterone too at the moment and I’m so sick of it. I got a BFN (as ever) and they make me keep taking it for a couple of days and then test again, the worst part lol

WillowTree0721 · 23/10/2021 13:23

Thankyou @thislittlebird
Yes I'm finding it the same- it's been a miracle cure for my short (10 day) luteal phase but now I have the opposite problem in that it's delayed my period massively! I'm hoping it starts soon so I can just get on with the next cycle 🤞🏻

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/10/2021 22:40

@WillowTree0721 hi and welcome! Sorry to hear of your losses, I'm on my first round of clomid here, took my first tablet today. I'm quite surprised they gave you clomid as you've managed to get pg ok, thought they'd be more likely to try and help you with the progesterone etc.

@thislittlebird I started today, took the first tablet this morning - no Side effects to report so far!

I feel like I've been short changed on the progesterone front! Considering my last day 21 was 0.8 (even though it did turn out to be on the wrong date) you think they'd offer it!

thislittlebird · 23/10/2021 23:10

@Marvellouslymadmum fingers crossed you’ll get none 👀. So you don’t have any and they didn’t offer it? Hmmm weird. It’s cheap as chips, seems silly not to add it in.

@WillowTree0721 yeah, I know it’s good for LP defects. How long does it delay yours? I will be stopping mine after tonight and I think it was a couple of days last time, so I end up with a 15 rather than 13 day LP.

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/10/2021 23:26

@thislittlebird I'm in two minds on the clomid side effects front, on one hand no side effects are good on the other if I get them I know it's doing something 😂 no I was t offered it at all! I'd ask the gp but I don't think she's all that happy with me after the last convo when I basically forced her into writing a letter to the gynae department about the lap. Maybe I'll see what my first day21 comes out at and if it's not very high I'll push for it then. It's weird you can't just buy it really as there's no adverse side effects from taking it! Or maybe I can ask at the scan appointment and see what they say there!

WillowTree0721 · 24/10/2021 04:21

Thankyou @Marvellouslymadmum
You will hopefully find the clomid pushes up your day 21 progesterone result. I took my first round last month and my day 21 bloods were 112! Obviously I am on progesterone suppositories too but they seemed to think it was more the clomid that had done it 🤷‍♀️ I'm on clomid because I used to ovulate really late in my cycle so he's given it to help bring my ovulation forward thus lengthening the luteal phase too 🤞🏻

@thislittlebird my period has started this morning so actually it only took 3 days to start as I last took it on Wednesday so not really too bad! It's only my 2nd month taking progesterone too so still learning how it effects me. Both drugs have made a massive difference though in terms of my ovulation day, bloods and luteal phase x

Marvellouslymadmum · 24/10/2021 08:23

@WillowTree0721 ahh that makes sense! I'll be getting day21 each month I'm on it to monitor ovulation but I have no way of contacting the consultant which I find very strange.

MargotChateau · 25/10/2021 13:02

Checking back in a after a long pause. I fell naturally pregnant just before my NHS cycle nurses appointment, but unfortunately miscarried at 5 weeks. I was so excited and thought I'd managed to dodge IVF, but not to be. I stayed off everything for a while, even before that as felt my mental health was a bit stretched. But now realise talking helps, rather than bottling things up. Now hoping my cycles come back quickly so I'm able to use and not lose my now postponed NHS round. Nerve wracking.
How is everyone doing? How are the lister ladies doing with Mr Faris? He's been an angel to me, and kept an eye on me during the natural pregnancy even though I won't be seeing him until after the NHS round.

thislittlebird · 25/10/2021 18:49

@Marvellouslymadmum I totally get that. I was mad I had no side effects, then I got confirmation it was working and now I’m mad it’s giving me some period pains (which I never get). Can’t win. I think it’s crazy how they are about prescribing progesterone, it’s weird to be so stingy about it. I would also bet your GP won’t be helpful.

@WillowTree0721 my progesterone was 108 on Letrozole + cyclogest! Did you have two follicles? Three days is ok. I stopped the progesterone after my second BFN 🤪. So far, two cycles in, I don’t really have many effects from any of these drugs, I get a few uterus twinges on the progesterone but that’s it really. Last month my period was three days after I stopped the progesterone, if the same this month I should expect AF tomorrow/Wednesday.

@MargotChateau welcome back, I was wondering how you were getting on last week. Sorry to hear you’ve had both good and bad news, hope you’re ok. When are you expecting the ivf round to start? Were they happy to postpone?

Glad Mr Faris has been good. He was great recently when I text him about getting an ivf round in before Christmas when I found out my nhs cycle would be in the new year. I was really stressed when I realised I’d hit Christmas closure but now I’ve sort of settled on waiting for the nhs round in January (???) and doing a third Letrozole cycle this month. My period in November would clash with my husband’s 40th and we’d be away and have to rush back, which is all a bit stressful. So we’ve decided we’ll start in January either way. If the nhs delays, we’ll call up the lister and start privately. Can’t put it off any more.

thislittlebird · 25/10/2021 18:54

Speaking of my husband’s 40th, I’ve been making plans! His family are in Cornwall, so we’re going down there but first we’re going to do a weekend in the Mendips to break up the drive at a nice inn, then drive to them and stay for a couple of nights, then check into a nice spa hotel in Falmouth for a few nights and have his 40th dinner there probably because they have a nice restaurant, and then back to the in-laws for one night and then home.

I’ve also arranged (or am arranging) a week in Scotland in early January for his birthday. I didn’t know what to get him, it’s so hard, so I’ve booked flights (we’re fairly near London City Airport) and now need to arrange tours from and accommodation in Edinburgh. I’m spending a lot of time on booking.com 🙃

DawnWW · 26/10/2021 20:56

Hi all, some of you may remember me from the thread in Jan/Feb where I ended up having a chemical 😢

I haven't stayed on here much as it hurt thinking about it but wanted to share some positive news with you all. Despite thinking it would never happen I am now 4 weeks pregnant with my first at age 38 (partner 43). We managed to conceive naturally while waiting for a private IVF appointment so super lucky 🥲

I'm praying this one stays and trying not to worry about the possibilities of ectopic or other problems and just waiting for the 12 week scan.

Thank you all for your support when I needed it, I hope this spreads a little positivity and a boost than you can get there!!!
