Hope this works girls, haven’t done this before, we’ve run out of space on the other thread.

Hi 🙋‍♀️ @Loladoodle

At a glance, I don’t see a lot wrong with those results. Looks like high count and normal everything. Morphology is fine, they only want 4% normal forms.

I wasn’t sure about the immotile area as don’t remember dh’s having that specific field or maybe it had a different name, so I googled and that number looks normal according to this exseedhealth.com/semen-analysis-what-is-measured/

Loladoodle · 09/09/2021 13:41

Ah thank you @thislittlebird 🙏 hope you are doing ok x

thislittlebird · 09/09/2021 18:45

@Loladoodle yeah all good, still plodding along on here 🙈

Loladoodle · 09/09/2021 21:59

@thislittlebird same! Cycle 21 of the never ending story 😬

thislittlebird · 10/09/2021 11:53

It really is neverending!

In related news, it’s been nearly two years since we started ttc so we deserve a relax. Booked an Indian head massage and hot stone massage for both of us for tomorrow.

Marvellouslymadmum · 10/09/2021 19:00

@thislittlebird how did your scan go today? And that definitely sounds very relaxing!

newnameanon1 · 10/09/2021 19:20

Can I join?! I'm late thirties, getting married in a few weeks and starting trying next week!

thislittlebird · 10/09/2021 19:22

@Marvellouslymadmum and thanks for your advice on that, we’re both trying the hot stones for the first time (we also both have injuries, which is fun, hoping I can tell them to leave my feet alone)

Yeah today was good! Had another scan, they warned me that if too many follicles were maturing that would be an issue. Luckily there’s only one dominant one. It’s 22mm and on the left (which is funny because all my pains are on the right 🤨) and on the right are 3 or 4 smaller immature follicles at about 12mm. My lining was also good at 10.3 or 10.6mm (can’t recall) and triple layered so we’re good to go. Came home with the trigger and have to do it tonight 😬😬😬😬😬😬. Once triggered we have to start trying and then I start pessaries on Sunday.

Ngl, I think I’m going to get DH to do the trigger injection. Not sure I can face the first ever one.

I will say the appointment took so long. I was waiting forever. That would have been half a day’s leave of my work were less flexible.

thislittlebird · 10/09/2021 19:24

Welcome aboard @newnameanon1! We stared trying pre-marriage too, but more like a year lolol

Marvellouslymadmum · 10/09/2021 19:36

@thislittlebird I'm
Sure you'll love the hot stones, they're honestly just so relaxing! And great for helping injuries too, any good masseuse should stay away from your feet if you ask.

That's great news about your scan! I've a feeling I'm not going to get anywhere near as much help with the clomid through nhs more like here's your prescription good luck 😂 hopefully this will work for you though 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hi and welcome @newnameanon1

thislittlebird · 10/09/2021 19:50

@Marvellouslymadmum I’m glad they’re good for injuries, I told him they might be. He’s hurt his rib decorating and i’m hoping it will help. I’m definitely going to ask. It’s very sensitive still, I don’t want any foot mix ups. Will leave my socks on lolol

Yeah, the nhs will just send you away probably but on the plus side it won’t cost you a grand. My meds were £94 today 😩

Im trying to keep my hopes low but you know they’ll creep in because it feels like we might genuinely have a chance if I’m not always ovulating. But I need to chill. Also they want me to test twice and I don’t know why???? Got to test Friday two weeks from
now and again on Sunday if negative? Why not just once? Do they not know I have ptsd abut tests? Confused

Marvellouslymadmum · 10/09/2021 20:07

@thislittlebird with the hot stones the heat is great for making you mega relaxed and then heat on an injured area is really good too.

Ouch that is pricey! I very much doubt I'll have any trigger shots, scans or progesterone - although saying that I am hoping that my levels come back low from my blood test (as I was actually cd1 instead of 21 as it was a short cycle) so I'm hoping she'll not realise and I can persuade her to prescribe it lol

I know what you mean about keeping your hopes low - the test part is annoying!! The first date if it's negative you'll be sad but still have hope 🤦🏼‍♀️ I don't think any of them have ever been through similar tbh

thislittlebird · 10/09/2021 20:37

@Marvellouslymadmum I’m really looking forward to it. It’s been sooooo long since we had a massage, stupid covid.

I wouldn’t definitely ask about progesterone. They may not give it to you if you have high levels I guess?

I’ve realised why they probably want me to test twice.....I bet they’re looking for chemicals? That way if I’m positive and then negative later or bleed later I’ll need a higher dose of progesterone maybe?

Marvellouslymadmum · 10/09/2021 20:59

@thislittlebird I'm sure you'll love it!

I've only had my progesterone tested once and it was 60 but I think that was the month I started b6 so I've no idea what it is regularly. I'll definitely ask!

That could be right with the testing twice actually, then they get more of an idea of what's going on with you

thislittlebird · 10/09/2021 23:39

@Marvellouslymadmum I think I will love it 👀

It’s weird, they should definitely test you again. Otherwise get a test privately or something.

The trigger injection is done. I didn’t love it, I won’t lie, we iced it and DH did a good job. Not convinced I will be able to do it to myself yet.

AnxiousWannabe · 10/09/2021 23:52

@thislittlebird
Good luck! Your stats look good!!!!!!! Fingers x

Misty84 · 11/09/2021 07:40

@thislittlebird I didn’t do any of the injections myself throughout my whole ivf cycle!

Welcome @newnameanon1

thislittlebird · 11/09/2021 08:49

@AnxiousWannabe remind me again what you had? Was it Letrozole on its own? Expectations are fairly low because of dh’s sperm issues but we can only try.

@Misty84 I’m a massive wuss and I really think i would struggle putting the needle into myself. At that weird Guys appointment the high dosage doctor was talking about me having a two injection per day schedule 🥴

KatRee · 11/09/2021 09:27

Hi all- hope you are all doing well.

Got everything crossed for you @thislittlebird

I've been a bit quiet on here recently and spending all my time on the infertility threads whilst undergoing my first ivf cycle. Unfortunately that ended with a BFN earlier this week.
The whole thing really was a rollercoaster- started off a lot more positively than I had feared and they managed to get more eggs from me than they thought they would, but then took a turn from day 3 post egg collection when the embryos for the most part were not developing as well as hoped. We were fortunate to have one to transfer on day 5, which unfortunately did not implant. A second one was developed enough by day 6 to freeze, but has a relatively low grading, so I think statistically the chances of that sticking are fairly low, but you can always find stories online of people who have children that started off as low grade embryos.
I've been feeling pretty gutted even though I was really trying to manage my expectations and see this first cycle as a trial run
I have to arrange a follow up consultation with the clinic to talk about possible next steps. I am thinking about trying to get an access package, which would have to involve changing clinics, so I may have some questions for some of you ladies who are with the Lister.

Love to you all and welcome to @newnameanon1. A colleague of mine who's 38 got married in May and is now around 14 weeks pregnant. She must have conceived first cycle they tried. Hope you have the same good luck as her!

AnxiousWannabe · 11/09/2021 16:38

@thislittlebird
I had letrozole 2.5mg from day 2-5. I remember having good lining but for the life of me couldn't remember how big the single dominant follicle was.

thislittlebird · 11/09/2021 20:10

@AnxiousWannabe they started me on 5mg. Will see if that gets increased if this month is a bust.

@KatRee I’m really sorry to hear about your bfn. It really is a game of roulette, all comes down to luck much of the time. Feeling gutted is totally natural and you should allow yourself a chance to deal with it all. On the plus side you can hopefully learn some things from this cycle to take to your next one.

Your colleague sounds annoying 🤐

Feel free to ask us questions! As well as access packages, Care also do packages, possibly Create too. I’m not sure who you’re with at present.

In less important news, my massage was fucking awful lmao. I waited two years for a weird and expensive experience set to a background of a saxophone, a ukulele and many very loud cars. Very relaxing 😌

AnxiousWannabe · 11/09/2021 22:09

@thislittlebird
Your monitored cycle sounds very promising - when days did you start taking it ? Was it cd2-7? I read somewhere there was a difference between number of eggs and egg quality...

Sorry to hear massage sucks.

@KatRee
Really sorry to hear that. I agree with thislittlebird it is a roulette game. So much of fertility issues that are not within our control and it's tiring tbh. I have been silent myself because I'm trying to tell myself - I'm putting my body through tests after tests after tests that I do not have control of, but at least I can try to not think about it. It's tiring having feelings for something I can't have control of - at the end of the day I can just simply accept and wave my middle finger every now and then.

Hugs.

Sharing this ..I found it in a fertility forum. Not sure about the source though

@AnxiousWannabe I did day 3-7, and I got one dominant follicle. It may not fertilise but at least it grew. I didn’t get a lot more eggs (seems a stretch?) but then I do have a lot in there to begin with. Or at least a lot of follicles.

AnxiousWannabe · 12/09/2021 06:27

@thislittlebird
I only had one dominant follicle only - the rest were significantly smaller.

Good luck :p
