Is anyone else TTC their first baby?
Lots of helpful threads on here but looking to speak to people who are in the same boat as me and trying for their first baby.

Anyone else finding it such a learning curve, I had no idea about the fertile week and the two week wait Grin .
We’ve been trying since January and AF keeps coming every month, starting to give up hope.
Would love to hear from other people as to how you are getting on.

🖐️ I'm on month 4 of TTC. And finding it a very steep learning curve and trying not to become too impatient and not stress about the whole thing.

Im using clearblue ovulation tests and the past couple of cycles I've had 2 LH surges which has confused me even more 😭 anyone else had this?

wannabeamummysobad · 29/07/2021 09:03

Hi all,

Decided to join as i'm also TTC. Hubby and I are early 30s (though 35 is fast approaching for me) and recently married - this is our first month of trying.

Took my OPK this morning and got a big fat O 😢. My Fitbit said my window should have opened today. Will continue checking over the next week as according to my Fitbit my ovulation day is Tuesday. We just want to be parents so badly.

Good luck to everyone on their journeys.

@Lucylaroo I have been googling too!! That's an amazing loss! I was reading a healthier BMI etc helps and reduces risks as well. I still have a daily coffee but I have been going for half an espresso over a full shot.

Currently 11DPO and on tenterhooks to see what happens this month. I've now got Flo and am all set up but has anyone any recommended ovulation tests that aren't mega ££ and any other tests they have found aren't expensive. I feel spending £15+ continuously to check if I've tested too early/not correctly etc will soon start adding up

@Itsjustme20 hey hun how have you got on? I did a test yesterday and bfn. I think I’m out now but not having any period symptoms! Think I’ll wait to see if af comes early next week x

BFN for me too 😔 I've still got like a heavy lower abdomen feeling which I've had for the last 7 days or so but I'll wait and see when AF rears her ugly head now! 😔

ginandgiggles · 31/07/2021 18:36

hey ladies! Am now 5/6 DPO. Trying super hard not to symptom spot. Today i felt a little feverish. I do alot of walking and a walk that usually takes me an hour took me an hour and a half, I was knackered! Sitting at home now and I've been shattered all day, and a few hours ago keep getting small intermittent sharp twinges in my lower abdomen. Also today high levels of thick CM. No spotting or anything but hopefully implantation? Period not due until 9th Aug so still a way away! Hows everyone doing?

bh2210 · 31/07/2021 18:48

I wanted to jump on and share my ttc baby no1 story.
I'm 35 now and had been trying to conceive since Christmas 2019. Had a Mmc in August 2020 at 9 weeks and then a natural mc Christmas 2020 at 6 weeks - the day that Boris put us all into lockdown again - merry f-Ing Christmas, eh??!! Throughout that time Me and my husband were at it on the specified days, I took all the ovulation tests monthly and then saw all the bfn ones as well. I had been using the 'clue' app which really educated me on stuff like the fertile week etc etc but with the miscarriages it was potentially becoming inaccurate. We were exhausted and decided to take a break from it all after 12 months of disappointments.
We finally conceived again start of March 2021 and baby boy due in nov. I actually hadn't used the app all of 2021 and we just decided to go for it as following something (ie apps and tests) was actually so depressing and took all the passion out of it. We know that baby was conceived after a few wines and lots of passion and on a day we wouldn't normally have done it if we followed the app. That month I ovulated earlier than normal and BINGO.

Sending so much love to everyone out there ttc. It's a journey - some peoples are longer than others and those who sneeze and get pregnant and then have a wonderful sick free pregnancy can be thought of as lucky. My pregnancy has been not amazing but after our journey I cannot wait to meet our little man.
💕💙💕💙💕

Anyone else feel like sex Ed should probably have included a session about what actually happens and how tricky it can be emotionally. Would have been far more useful.

BingeOnChocolate · 01/08/2021 09:21

13DPO (if Flo is correct) and negative on the boots testing strips so we go again..

Flo and Premom have predicted me as 13 DPO as well and I last did a test yesterday and it was a BFN.

I don't feel as though AF is coming at all either which is odd. Going to hold out til Wednesday and if AF hasn't arrived I'll get another test. 🤞🏼

thefirstattempt · 01/08/2021 12:09

Same as me! Don’t have any period symptoms and flo says I’m due tomorrow on Flo and Wednesday on another app! I’m not sure whether to test or just wait it out. The whole two weeks have been agonising!

Coco9910 · 01/08/2021 12:42

Hi all,

Just entering month number 2 of ttc for baby number 1. I never realised how much it would consume me but it really has! I tried not to symptom spot but it’s so difficult 😂 keeping my fingers crossed we all get our BFPs very soon! xx

BingeOnChocolate · 01/08/2021 12:47

Flo is telling me tomorrow too @thefirstattempt ! If nothing by Tuesday/Wednesday I think im going to do another and see.

thefirstattempt · 01/08/2021 12:51

Fingers crossed for you!! X

Thought I might post here just to get some thoughts out. I've been off the pill since March. Periods are quite regular but incredibly light. No more than 3 days and mostly spotting and dark/old blood (sorry for TMI).

Combined with my first month using OPK and saw a peak, but peak was 0.88 so not technically a positive, I'm worried that my body is still not settled after coming off of the pill.

8DPO (if I ovulated!) I was feeling quite nauseous and exhausted. I never feel sick so that was unusual for me. I'm now due on in 4 days and have had more spotting today (and some yesterday). Took a test yesterday just to rule it out and it was negative which I expected anyway, but it's so confusing. I know I've only really just started but I'm terrified about fertility issues. A family is all I want now and I just struggle to think how ill be after being very down last year and getting better.

Anyway, thank you to anyone who reads this.

I'm 3 days late now and still a BFN and no AF so no clue what's going on! CD32 currently 🤷🏽‍♀️
Lucylaroo · 10/08/2021 08:09

BFN for me. AF is due tomorrow according to my apps. I didn't expect to fall pregnant the first month of TTC, but you can't help but hope. Confused So, back to it next cycle.

WJK00 · 11/08/2021 19:03

Hi all

I'm currently TTC my first Smile

Ive had rough year with an ectopic in March and a 6 week miscarriage in June! But not giving up hope!

Ovulation is this week but have stopped tracking this time and just going off CM. I usually ovulate cd12 Daffodil

Let's hope we get some BFP in the next few months Grin

beth1311 · 11/08/2021 21:46

Hello!
I'm TTC my first too and it's so difficult not to take everything to heart.

I'm currently CD43, ovulated super late on CD33 making me 10dpo and I'm still getting negatives. I'm in for a long one I think 😞

I do wonder what's the latest dpo people have tested and got a positive? Or if ovulating this late is normal? X

beth1311 · 11/08/2021 22:11

@bh2210 you have given me hope!
I was following the apps religiously and cantering everything around when I thought I was ovulating and nothing, every single month.

I went privately and saw a consultant and my internal pelvic scan showed polycystic ovaries on my left. Don't know whether to keep an eye for medical reasons, or ditch all the apps and sticks and thermometers and go as nature intended!

They definitely should have told us this in school sex Ed 😂😂
