TTC first baby , anyone else ?

Is anyone else TTC their first baby?
Lots of helpful threads on here but looking to speak to people who are in the same boat as me and trying for their first baby.

Anyone else finding it such a learning curve, I had no idea about the fertile week and the two week wait .
We’ve been trying since January and AF keeps coming every month, starting to give up hope.
Would love to hear from other people as to how you are getting on.

I had an inkling this morning so I took a test and... is that a BFP?! I can hardly believe it!!

@thefirstattempt thank you! I think I'm about 12 dpo but didn't check accurately this month. AF was due today and I normally get a bit of pink for a couple of days before which didn't happen so I just took a test! I did an early check test but maybe I did it too early because that was a BFN

It was just an internet cheapies today. I've got some FRER coming but not until Friday 😔

I'm due early next week according to my apps.

I’m 15 dpo and according to the app I’m 2 days late, but still BFN 😭

@Itsjustme20 not too long to wait. Iv got some coming today but feel it might be too early still. Period due on Monday or Tuesday depending on what app I look at! Fingers crossed for you xx

I'm going to take them away with me this weekend and test when we're there. Then we'll both found out where we met if we do have a BFP which would be nice.

I'm the same with AF - all the apps say different things don't they. It's so annoying 😂

hahahaha I did the same thing - although DH knows we're trying I'm trying to shield him from the admin / process to try to keep some air of sexy mystery about it all!

I’m 34 and ttc my partner has children from a previous relationship. So today Af came after three days late I’m usually clockwork so even with PT BFN I was hopeful but today cramps creeped it and AF so absolutely devastated been trying since December 2020. My biggest worry is what if it never happens for me sorry for the rant

Hello ladies, hope you don't mind me joining. In January DH and I agreed to start TTC, but then we had to hold off for a few months due to circumstances I won't go into. Now we are about to start again. I used an ovulation strip for the first time. Yesterday there was no line at all and today there is one...but I can't tell if it's me getting carried away or not. Does it look like an equal line or should I wait another day? This will be out first baby and I'm already 35, so I am super nervous. Hope you don't mind me asking. Thanks xx

@Lucylaroo hey! I would say that is 100% a positive OPK. I'm also trying for my first and had I not tested both morning and evening I would have missed the surge, so I would suggest you should crack on with the fun bit now. I am fairly new to the ov tracking but my understanding is that the OPK detects an LH surge, meaning ovulation is imminent within upto the next 36 hours (or so I read!). Ideally sperm would be waiting in your tubes ready to go so Deffo don't wait as there's a chance the line wont be there tomorrow. Have fun and good luck! x

@Crazymouselady87 ah I'm sorry love, that sucks. Esp after being late which is the one thing we're told to wait for! it's such a stressful thing that we're expected to carry with us, alongside the guilt of perceived failure on our part. keep your head high and remember that all you can do is your best, and I'll keep my fingers and toes and eyes crossed for you x

We have finally decided TTC so I'm currently getting my head around all the MN abbreviations and reading all about the recommended tests and apps.

I've been ensuring I eat healthily and zero alcohol just to give my body a good chance. Not sure if it's going to help or not but I'm all for trying anything at the moment as I've been off my Syana press since Jan and still nothing!

As in finally decided to TTC by tracking and doing all we can over going with the flow.

10dpo and bfn for me this morning! Ahh!

@ginandgiggles thanks for the help. I think nervousness makes me doubt myself sometimes, so I needed the reassurance. I feel kinda nervous, scared and excited all say once. TTC seems to add so much pressure (in my opinion).

@thefirstattempt leave it a few more days then test again. It might be a little bit early. Waiting sucks, doesn't it.

@BingeOnChocolate oh my goodness, all the abbreviations! I have to Google some. I'm still learning them too. But you've done the right thing by getting healthy. It's so important. I lost 5stone over the past 18mths to get healthy. I need to give up coffee, I still have one a day. I hope that coffee isn't hampering my chances. My phone is full of apps too. haha

@Lucylaroo oh it really does!! I’m 5 days away so thought it might show up on first response! I’m away for the next two nights which should help take my mind off things!
