In the shimmering summer heat, we need to head for the water to cool down and relax. Bring your inflatable flamingo, your romcom read and your sunscreen, cause it's time for a pool party!

Welcome to the 12th post pill party thread. We are here for women who have recently come off the pill... and women like me who not-so-recently came off the pill! Share and get support with the highs and lows of TTC.

I can see these people rockin' up with their cossies on:

@Tillybabs oh that is strange.
Did she expand on "off" in any way? I've been told years ago that my womb lining was thicker than would've been expected at that point in my cycle. I was having lots of random mid cycle bleeding then as well. When I was about 20/21 maybe so quite a few years ago.
Hopefully this is your month and the strangeness is just a symptom 🤞

Tillybabs · 15/08/2021 21:28

@Sunshinedaisybuttermellow fingers crossed it is for us!

Well I think she meant it was not thick enough or affected by the what she calls myomas I have in wall of my uterus. Small growths like fibroids.

But she said she wasn't concerned and that I would get treatment for that. But I've had a weak transvaginal scans and she has said before my lining looks good. Seems to change during the cycle I guess. Tbh I feel like she rushes my appointments and is a bit vague. Im supposed to start ivf during my period in September and will be referred to a clinic so hope they are better!

Kay00 · 15/08/2021 22:08

@moocher90 good luck with your floof scan and all your results!

@sunshinedaisybuttermellow worth testing just in case? On my 1st vaccine I spotted for quite a few days before by period properly turned up. I had my 2nd vaccine about 2 weeks ago, and it doesn't seem to have effected my cycle this time.

@tillybabs I imagine the clinic will review all your previous tests and hopefully explain things a little better to you.

I'm nearly a week into taking my Metformin at the slightly higher dose of 1000mg a day (up from 500mg per day) and I have certainly started seeing a change in my appetite! I'm normally a very hungry person, but I have generally been off food or feeling nauseous. Sweet food seems to be turning my stomach... esp. bananas 🍌(which I normally love). Even chocolate I feel like I could leave it... its so odd!!

Hopefully the Metformin works to balance out my hormones, making my body a little more hospitable to any little eggs that might want to make a home in my womb 😊 and if I loose a few pounds, that won't be a huge issue either 😆

ChinChilly · 16/08/2021 08:15

Good luck with the scan @Moocher90

Had my vaccine yesterday, no side effects other than an achy arm. I think AF is packing her bags ready for departure...thank god. Can't believe it is Monday again already 😫

Moocher90 · 16/08/2021 08:20

Thanks all for the well wishes with the scan today! I’m really anxious :/ in dreading the results but still trying to remain positive x

MissM94 · 16/08/2021 08:51

Morning!
Currently having a smart meter installed & didn't have chance to make a brew before the electric went off, it's Monday & DP pissed me off last night so I'm in a biggggg mood 😂😂

MissM94 · 16/08/2021 08:51

@Moocher90 good luck x

ChinChilly · 16/08/2021 09:05

@MissM94 sounds like a good start! 😂😂 currently just staring at my laptop not doing alot 🙃

Lovebug06 · 16/08/2021 09:14

I have just read all your messages and it's made me tearful, you are all so lovely ❤️

I am still in shock, I really didn't think it would happen after so long so it doesn't feel real.

I have tried to attach the picture from last week but I havent done it before so hope it attaches!
I have done another test yesterday to put my mind at ease, which came up straight away.

MissM94 · 16/08/2021 09:18

@ChinChilly hahaha doesn't it just! I hope our days get a bit more exciting

@Lovebug06 they're lovely positives! Do you have any idea roughly how far you are?

Tillybabs · 16/08/2021 09:18

@Kay00 that's good that the medication is having a positive effect on your body.

Yes I hope you are right about the clinic.

@Lovebug06 I'm genuinely so happy for you after you have been trying for so long. Those are really strong lines xx

So I think ive only got Covid! I had my 2nd vaccine on Friday and felt rough yesterday and put to down to that. But then I went to a wedding last week and some people tested positive. So I did two lfts which showed weak positive lines. Then today it's as strong as anything. Just waiting on my pcr result.

mrsmacmc · 16/08/2021 09:27

Nothing exciting happening here, still waiting on appt for referral to hospital clinic. Sharing baby dust ✨ ❤️

Juno231 · 16/08/2021 09:53

@Sunshinedaisybuttermellow that's really weird - hopefully it's just a one off weird cycle. Maybe set an alarm for folic acid though, you're meant to start taking that daily 3 months before BFP ideally!

@Kat668 what the flip! Congrats! Such a strong line too - what was it, 11dpo at that point? All my fingers crossed for a sticky bean for you xxx

Sunshinedaisybuttermellow · 16/08/2021 10:11

@Kay00 oh the metformin sounds good, hopefully it does its job. Glad it looks like the jab didn't affect your cycle this time, how did you feel after having it?

@ChinChilly oh that doesn't sound too bad, hopefully you feel fine after this one. Glad AF seems to be leaving too!

@Tillybabs oh no! Hopefully it isn't covid but it sounds like it might be Sad. Do you feel OK in general or really bad?

Tillybabs · 16/08/2021 12:22

@Sunshinedaisybuttermellow I've had my pcr back which confirms Covid! A number of people at the wedding also have it.

I feel better than yesterday but have a temperature, dodgy stomach, achy body and slight headache.

Juno231 · 16/08/2021 13:06

@Tillybabs oh bugger! Hope you get better quickly - can't imagine getting the jab and having covid at the same time!

Kay00 · 16/08/2021 13:29

@Tillybabs Oh no!! I hope you start feeling better soon xx

@Sunshinedaisybuttermellow after my first jab I felt very tired and had flu like symptoms for a few hours. On my 2nd jab i had nothing, my arm didn't even hurt for very long Smile

I'm CD3 and the period pains are getting me real bad - blurgh. If my cycle plays ball (which it certainly has been recently) then I will be in my new fertile window the week my grandad comes to stay - lovely Hmm!

Juno231 · 16/08/2021 13:31

@kay00 eeeew lol - nothing like gramps to get the juices flowing!

Kay00 · 16/08/2021 14:08

@Juno231 haha! He's a real sweetie, and loves to joke around, but he's getting really old (90 year next year!) and will need a lot of looking after (I'll need to wash and dress him), so he'll be a massive passion killer - haha! Lucky he can't get upstairs and I live in a 3 storey house, so OH and I should be able to sneak away Grin

Juno231 · 16/08/2021 14:13

@kay00 aw bless you that's very kind of you to have him over then! Mine is 83 this year but has COPD so can't leave his flat nevermind the country to come see me. OH's grandpa is 90 as well but in a home so I can't even imagine doing what you'll be doing!

Kat668 · 16/08/2021 14:42

@Juno231 If my app was correct in its prediction then I would have been 14dpo :)

@Tillybabs oh I'm so sorry you've got the rona. I really hope you feel better soon!

Moocher90 · 16/08/2021 15:11

Afternoon all,

My hycosy went fine and all clear, uterus looked normal and tubes are clear. The issue is I have a AMH level of 2.3 pmol/l which is very low and my antral follicle count was low. Only 3 follicles on my right ovary and 2 on my left. I asked her what this means for me and she said we could continue trying as despite my low reserve I can still get pregnant but it’s indicative of early menopause. I asked her hypothetically if I was her client what would she be suggesting for me and she said IVF with ISCI. So I have been a bit of an emotional wreck today.

I am awaiting my gynaecology referral with nhs and not really sure what I should be doing now. Do you think as my results indicate POD I should ask my GP if the referral can be prioritised? I am not sure how it all works with the NHS. I’m 31 next month and I wasn’t envisioning this at all.

Kay00 · 16/08/2021 15:34

@Moocher90 I'm so sorry to hear that xx I would certainly speak to your doctor and see if they can prioritise your referral. Is private treatment an option for you?

Moocher90 · 16/08/2021 15:42

@Kay00 I am not sure we can afford private IVF right now as awaiting a house move etc and our funds are going into that :( xx

Juno231 · 16/08/2021 16:32

@Moocher90 ah I'm so sorry. I would start by checking your CCG policy as it might not even be worth hanging around for a fertility clinic referral on the NHS when most CCG's stipulate a minimum of 5.8pmol/l AMH. For low AMH like that eg Create have really great success rates and I know they do 0% interest payment plans so do look into things when you are over the initial shock as it might be a lot more doable than you think!
