In the shimmering summer heat, we need to head for the water to cool down and relax. Bring your inflatable flamingo, your romcom read and your sunscreen, cause it's time for a pool party!

Welcome to the 12th post pill party thread. We are here for women who have recently come off the pill... and women like me who not-so-recently came off the pill! Share and get support with the highs and lows of TTC.

I can see these people rockin' up with their cossies on:

@Kay00 also spotting over here.. I'm 10dpo so about the same. I've also wondered if I have progesterone issues, my last test results came back at just over 30 and that was the cycle I got my BFP so I'm wondering if that is contributing to the miscarriages

Kay00 · 11/08/2021 22:02

@chinchilly hmm, possibly. I have never had my progesterone checked (at 21 days or other). I guess if it's rubbish they will pick up on it on my first monitored Clomid cycle.

ChinChilly · 11/08/2021 22:10

@Kay00 Yeah I would of thought so. I think it's fairly common and lots of women are given extra progesterone to support a pregnancy so atleast it's not difficult to treat

Juno231 · 12/08/2021 07:36

@kay00 in also thinking clomid will give you a stronger ovulation so that might naturally boost your progesterone?

Kay00 · 12/08/2021 08:47

@Juno231 Yes, its possible that my progesterone has been higher as my temps have been higher since I started Metformin at least Smile.

Do any of you other ladies get cycles where your boobs really hurt and then cycles where they don't? Not that I'm complaining of course... I was able to go for a run last night without wincing every time my body jiggled Grin hahaha!

Tillybabs · 12/08/2021 09:43

Morning ladies

@Paintingfences congratulations!

@Kay00 I have had two dreams in the last week where I've had a bfp, it's soo annoying!

As for your progesterone, even if it's low, you will be given medication for it. I start the IVF medication next month and I will be having two injections and will have to take progesterone tablets as well from a particular stage.

ChinChilly · 12/08/2021 15:07

My appointment for the recurrent miscarriage clinic came through today but it isn't until 24th November, is it unreasonable that I'm disappointed that it seems so far away 😞

Kay00 · 12/08/2021 15:41

Sad YANBU, that is such a long wait Sad

ChinChilly · 12/08/2021 18:10

@Kay00 considering they told us we shouldn't try again until we've had the appointment, it seems like a life time 🙄

Sunshinedaisybuttermellow · 12/08/2021 20:44

Oh @ChinChilly that is so far awaySad

Juno231 · 12/08/2021 21:02

@ChinChilly I'd be temped to try anyway... It could be a fourth loss or fourth time lucky?

ChinChilly · 12/08/2021 21:23

@Sunshinedaisybuttermellow I know right, especially seen as they told me it was about at 12 week wait from refferal to appointment, that appointment is 23 weeks from refferal to appointment.

@Juno231 I think we probably will to be honest, that appointment is too far away not to really, that is just the first appointment which is just a phone consultation, then with all the test it will be more like the beginning of next year to try again otherwise 🙁

Juno231 · 12/08/2021 22:58

@ChinChilly another thought - check if you can self refer yourself to your EPU if you get another bfp. Someone else on another thread was told to do that by her EPU so that they can run tests /provide progesterone or whatever else as soon as they can. Sounds like great support in the mean time (she's also waiting for rmc appointments). I must say you're the first lady I've encountered that got told to put ttc on hold actually, so I wouldn't feel bad for not listening🤔

Lovebug06 · 13/08/2021 06:05

Hi girls,

I disapeared as I've struggled with this for a while. Last week I was diagnosed with endometriosis and was devestated.

But last night I got my BFP. I am in absolute shock.
I was late on but that's happened before, and I had had the vaccine which I read can cause that, so I was sure it was that. I have(had) a night out Saturday so before organising I did the test just so it was done, as my partner had kept suggesting it.

I know this will make some of you feel bad and I understand that because I have been there, so many times. It is so hard.

But I hope this gives some of you hope too.
I always wanted to hear stories of it happening after ages, so I thought I needed to come on and share this with you all.
Low sperm mobility and endometriosis, 22 cycles and no hint of a positive in all that time. The no hint of a positive bothered me most. But I've got there and I have so much hope you will too.
I've got a long way to go yet too. I'm just in shock right now!

Sending you all so so much love ❤️

Lovebug06 · 13/08/2021 06:06

Sorry that was meant to say 21 cycles!

ChinChilly · 13/08/2021 06:54

@Juno231 thanks for that, that's a good idea. I know I was abit shocked when he said not to try again I'm guessing they just advice that after however many loses to save your own mental health more than anything.

@Lovebug06 massive congratulations lovely, so happy for you.

AF arrived last night properly so my LP was a little bit shorter than usual but I'm guessing I'll have a few wonky cycles. I finally booked my vaccine in for Sunday

TheDaydreamBelievers · 13/08/2021 07:39

@Lovebug06 I am so so so happy for you 🥰 So many congratulations and I hope everything goes swimmingly for you. Xx

@Lovebug06 Yey!!!! That's incredible!! Huge congratulations, you deserve it so much. I'm sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with Endo, it might explain a lot, but it clearly didn't fully prevent your OH's swimmers meeting your egg

WhirlingD · 13/08/2021 08:53

@Lovebug06 I am absolutely delighted for you. I have been following your story and wish and all the luck in the world. X

Kay00 · 13/08/2021 09:26

Haha... since I wrote that i might test this morning (just 35 mins ago) I have started getting period pains! What are the chances!

ChinChilly · 13/08/2021 09:55

@Kay00 I'm pretty relieved for her arrival to be honest, the thought of being pregnant so soon after MC terrifies me. Just hoping my cycle falls back into place now. Sods law with the AF pains!

Kay00 · 13/08/2021 10:47

@chinchilly that's understandable xx

I tested - BFN 👎👎👎 no big surprise though. Plus, I can relax and enjoy tonight now.

I plan to have another full cycle on Metformin before I start the Clomid... and if 6 months of Clomid doesn't work. Then gawd knows!! 😂

MissC07 · 13/08/2021 11:31

@Lovebug06 congratulations!!! So happy for you!

@Kay00 Sorry about the BFN although pleased you can relax this evening.

CD102 for me 😫 my FF has given me dotted crosshairs. But I think they are wrong as my OPK's haven't been showing dark lines. Fed up of this all now

Kay00 · 13/08/2021 12:31

@MissC07 I am looking at the NICE guidelines for managing clinical features of PCOS (one of which is having less than 1 x period every 3 months), and it suggests your doctor should prescribe progestogen for withdrawal bleed induction. You might not have a PCOS diagnosis, but I have read that is not healthy to allow your endometrial lining to build up too thick (for more than 3 months). It might be worth having a chat with your doctor again?

MissC07 · 13/08/2021 12:34

@Kay00 thank you! I'll call my doctors now!
