Hi anyone in the 2WW and on pred? I hardly have any symptoms from the pred. I'm on 20mcg.

LRL12 · 16/07/2021 18:51

@HollyLucky felt little bit dizzy and had few headaches but only for first few weeks other then that I felt ok. X

HollyLucky · 16/07/2021 20:57

Thanks @LRL12 x
Hi @Hema902 , i think most ladies haven’t been put on pred lately due to the pandemic, did you first try hydroxy or did Dr Shehata prescribe to you pred straight away ?

Daffodil21 · 16/07/2021 21:15

@Hema902 I think the only thing I had on pred in TWW was constant peeing!

Daffodil21 · 16/07/2021 21:24

@Hema902 I think that is a side effect of pred though?

Hema902 · 16/07/2021 21:34

Hi both @Daffodil21 and @HollyLucky. Thanks for getting back to me! So I'm on pred but not under Dr S care but with create who have given me this to rule out immune disorders (I have hashimotos). I don't really have any symptoms I'm currently 3dp5dpt and just not feeling that bad on it in terms of cramps so I'm wondering if it's working. I am however super super emotional have been crying for most part of yesterday and today. Sad

Lozfish · 17/07/2021 09:53

Hi all

I've just been reading the messages about Hydroxy vs. Pred. I just started hydroxy this week and am now wondering whether I should call them and ask to be put on pred. @Tumby how are you feeling? Are you thinking you might ask to change?

Sorry for the Saturday morning panic! I think we've all just been through so much that we desperately want to avoid more heartbreak. Maybe it's stupid of me but I care a lot less about whether I catch Covid (due to being double jabbed) than whether I have another loss and would rather just be on pred if that's why they're not prescribing it...

Tumby · 17/07/2021 10:17

Morning @Lozfish I'm ok thank you. Definitely a lot calmer than yesterday! I can completely understand your concern, but I feel a lot more comfortable now that the nurse has said it has just a good success rate as pred and they prescribe it to you based on your history. Without wanting to sound disrespectful to the nurses, I think we just need to have trust in Dr S as he is the one with all the research & qualifications under his belt & tbh, if he knew that hydroxy didn't have a good success rate then it would be rubbish for his reputation!! Plus there's lots of ladies on here that have had success with hydroxy. My NHS recurrent miscarriage clinic actually said that hydroxy is effective (I spoke with them yesterday).

@HollyLucky I had/have the exact same symptoms. Feel so not with it!!

I wondered whether the ladies on here that have had success have suffered with miscarriage early on? I never get past 6 weeks with my current partner & I'm worried there is more going on than just the immune issues...

Lozfish · 17/07/2021 10:24

@Tumby thanks so much for your message, that's calmed me down a lot!!! You're completely right about Dr. S knowing best and that his reputation is on the line x

Daffodil21 · 17/07/2021 10:31

@Tumby I had one blighted ovum and then 2 pregnancies that stopped growing at 6+3 after a heartbeat was seen (took a little while for them to pass but they both measured 6+3). I'm not under Dr S, and I don't have a diagnosis, but I'm currently 36 weeks after taking pred and progesterone. Don't know if it's a success story yet, but hopefully...

Tumby · 17/07/2021 10:34

Aw no worries @Lozfish. So glad we have this forum to support each other! Have a lovely weekend x

LRL12 · 17/07/2021 13:15

@Tumby I miscarried at 7wks, 8wks & 12wks, so all early loses x

Tumby · 17/07/2021 13:48

Thanks @Daffodil21 and @LRL12

Most of mine have been either chemical or got close to the 6 weeks but never made it. Never had a heartbeat or anything which is why I'm worried it's chromosome problems maybe.

Agh!!! Such a tumultuous journey!!!

ginandoreos · 17/07/2021 14:45

Hi All,

Just wanted to say I hope everyone is doing okay and that my admiration goes out to everyone trying to stay sane during this rocky road!

I have 10 days til my next scan and I think it's the scariest one as I'm currently in my 'danger zone' based on past losses. The wait is horrendous!

Echoing what many of you have said, am trying to trust that the bucketload of drugs might mean a different and positive outcome.

Anyway, I hope you guys are able to enjoy the weekend as much as possible ☀️. Xx

Lozfish · 17/07/2021 18:19

Thinking of you @ginandoreos 😘 I really hope you can enjoy the weather despite what I imagine is an incredibly anxious time. One thing I always tell myself is 'I will be ok, I have been before and I will be again. Whatever happens, I am strong enough to get through it'. Not sure whether that helps or not, but it definitely gives me a small amount of comfort. That and the fact you're throwing the kitchen sink at this one, you could not be doing more x

ginandoreos · 17/07/2021 19:06

@Lozfish thank you so much for your kind words, I really appreciate your reply.

I am able to feel a bit stronger depending on the day but today is definitely one of those 'panic days' where I feel quite anxious that things have gone wrong.... so hard to trust my body to keep going. It has let me down too many times....

Currently I have a subchorionic haematoma and from what I've read, most people with this do bleed - I'm so petrified of every toilet trip... nothing as yet. I just wonder what is going on in there?!

Sorry - low day today!! At least it's nearly another day ticked off.. 🙈🙈!

Thank you and hope you are doing okay 👍🏼. Xx

treesall · 18/07/2021 02:15

Thinking of you @ginandoreos. I'm struggling with the anxiety too. Here I am still awake gone 2am because I'm totally convinced it's gone wrong again and I just can't bear it!

ginandoreos · 18/07/2021 05:16

@treesall 5am fear here 🙈! I'm so sorry you are feeling this way too, it's hell 😩. I guess all we can do is try to keep distracted and keep battling to try and stay positive 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼. (I had sore boobs for a while and was so grateful for it! They disappeared yesterday- come back!!) thinking of you too x

Tumby · 18/07/2021 08:41

@treesall @ginandoreos thinking of you too. If I could not go to the toilet for the next few weeks then I wouldn't!! Terrifying!! It's totally natural to feel this way and is our brains trying to protect us I guess, but I'm trying (as hard as it is) to be in the here and now and for now... we're pregnant! And we can't do anymore than we're doing really. Bask in the miracle that you currently have 😊 I find the calm app helps quite a lot too xxx

treesall · 18/07/2021 08:49

Urgh it's driving me totally mental. I have a super strong gut feeling that it's gone wrong. I have zero symptoms. My two miscarriages that got this far both needed an MVA and I suspect this one is going to be the same. Arghhhhhhhh. At least my scan on Friday will put me out of my misery. Fingers crossed for 3 miracles for us @Tumby @ginandoreos

ginandoreos · 18/07/2021 09:57

Absolutely fingers crossed for miracles ❤️❤️❤️. You are so right, we are doing all we can. I hope today is less anxious for you @treesall and @Tumby and all other ladies struggling too 🤞🏼🤞🏼☀️ xxxx

Luckyducky2 · 18/07/2021 10:17

Hi girls,

Well i had my 5th embryo transfer last Monday and after freaking out on Thursday night that it hadn't worked, I did a test yesterday morning and got a very faint line on a frer. My boobs were quite sore yesterday but not so much today which is a bit worrying but then this whole experience is one giant worry isn't it?! So I guess we are a little bit pregnant, but I'm in the horrible limbo land of waiting to see if this keeps on developing. Still super early to have tested (5dp5dt) and my official test day isn't until next Thursday....hello insanity, here we go again with the waiting and wishing and not sleeping!!! 😝 This is the first time I have been on 25mg pred and hydroxy, I'm just praying they help this time! 🙏 Please cross your fingers for me!! Xxx

Daffodil21 · 18/07/2021 10:28

Thinking of you all in the shitty early days. It really is such a horrible waiting game ❤️ xxx

VenusStarr · 18/07/2021 10:34

🙏 ❤️ @Luckyducky2 I've got everything crossed for you xx

Luckyducky2 · 18/07/2021 10:47

@VenusStarr how are you getting on lovely, been thinking of you, are you still having a wee break or starting any more treatment? Xxx

@Daffodil21 you must be on the home stretch by now?? Very exciting and hope you are keeping well in these last few weeks xxx

@treesall @tumby @ginandoreos hope you are all doing okay, such nerve-wracking times.... I am joining you with the anxiety, fingers crossed for happy news 🤞 xxx
