Symptoms before BFP

Hi all,

I am totally new to this so please bear with me.

I have been feeling incredibly sick for the last week, having quite severe period like pains and very sore boobs as well.

I took a test on Tuesday but got a BFN. Is it possible to have all these symptoms before I get positive result. I want to rule our pregnancy before I go to the doctor to see what else it coulbe if that makes sense!

I am also on cerazette which has totally stopped my periods so I can't use that to help! I have missed loads of pills recently though.

any help would be very much appreciated

Welcome to MN!

I felt sick for approx 7 days and did 4 pregnancy tests - all BFNs. It was another couple of days after that that I got a very very faint BFP and am now 17 weeks.

Like you I couldn't really count from my last period because I had had a miscarriage and got pregnant before having a period.... I spent so much on pg tests that I bought some cheapies from ebay so I could test to my heart's delight - still got the BFP with the cheapies then confirmed it with a Clearblue. HTH and let us know. Welcome to MN - you could be.. I am in same boat. I feel very sick, lots of cramps and slightly sore boobs. I have had unprotected sex with DH(got carried away rekindling our romance, I was intending to go back on pill ) and I am convinced I am pg, but can't test until next week. I have felt exactly like this twice before, and I have two children . Both times my instinct was right. I am feeling excited but slight nervous too (dd1 is 2.5 and dd2 14 months so I'm not making my life easy . Let me know how you get on

I recommend you pour yourself a glass of your very favourite alcoholic drink then sit back and ask yourself if you actually want to drink it or not.

If the answer is "no" then my bet is you are pregnant.

Of course, if the answer is "yes", only drink half the glass, just in case

Still feeling very sick, only thing that stops it is eating. I am also totally starving. Its weird to be hungry and sick at the same time!

The idea of a glass of wine makes me shudder, good idea though.

Good luck to those in the same boat as me!

Oh Squiffy DH poured me a glass of wine last night and I really didn't want it, only drank half, most unlike me. Oh here we go again....! Will test soon, am excited but worried how other people will react, they'll think we are always at it when in truth we're not at all !!

I move house this weekend so I am going to try and forget about it until next week- quite hard to do though!

I will text next Tuesday which is a week after the first test.

Sound like a good plan?

Good plan - You are very patient!!! Try not to do much lifting/straining this weekend just in case

"It's weird to be hungry and sick at the same time" hmmm, funny you should say that....for the first 15 weeks of this pregnancy I was always commenting to DH that it felt like I had 2 stomachs - one permanently starving, and one permanently nauseous.....

Hi Helga - hoe you are OK after move. Sorry if I am crashing your thread, but in my total impatience I have tested. At first thought negative, now think very faint positive. I've tested too early I know, so I will now wait until the end of the week. Still sure I am, but need a strong line to confirm . Am currently staring at test and feel I am going mad!!

God why must I know now, seems so odd. One things for sure, although this isn't planned I am getting too excited - I love having babies!!

Congrats on a positive!
I brought a test this morning and plan to test first thing in the morning. Sickness went away over the weekend while moving but is back with avengence since yesterday. Was sick when smelt cigarette smoke on the street earlier- classy! Also had half a glass of wine last night and felt awful.

took it very easy over the move, mainly cos I was too knackered to be of much use

Will let you know results tomorrow

Thanks Helga. My sickness went too over the weekend, most odd. I was busy organising a family party so I think my mind was on other things. I've just checked the test again (grim I know!) and it looks more positive than yesterday. Still have to squint though. Will try tesco cheapy on Thurs I think, just to be sure!!

Did another test this morning. Got a BFN. Still feeling sick though.

Better go to the doctor to find out what is causing the sickness.

Oh Helga, I'm sorry about your BFN. Maybe you are still testing a bit early as you've not had a period for a while. Let us know how you get on at the doctor. Take care, I know how hard the disappointment can be. We were ttc for two years before dd1 and its very hard I know. Keep your chin up lovey x

Hi girlies, sorry to put a dampener on - There is a very dodgy tummy bug flying round at the moment. Also not sure if you'd be feeling sick so early on (?)
I could be totally wrong though. If you're still feeling bad in a week (or worse) do another test - It might just be too early to test.
I'm also feeling sick, although I did have rather a lot to drink last night

yes, but with a tummy bug i'm assuming i'd actually be sick or have poo problems, rather than having nausea for 2 weeks. tummy bugs ont last 2 weeks

Symptoms I had before BFP with my son: went off coffee, fags, alcohol, and about two weeks before I tested my boobs grew. I still had no idea I was pg - only tested cos I was going to GP and I knew he was gonna ask if I'd tested.

Hi everyone
The same thing is happening to me. I feel pregnant, metalic taste in mouth, sore boobs and slight nausea. I had a mc in Oct. and had one normal cycle since, but then nothing. Have tried testing twice, once on due date on 12th and once on Sunday 16th, both negative. I am totally convinced I am pregnant though. Have this really nagging pain low down on left side though which is constant and is the same pain I had when I had mc. so convonced that I am pregnant and about to have mc. Am I mad?

no, not mad. you can get cramps with early pregnancy too.. i have with both of mine. i'm getting some cramps too... have done on and off for couple of weeks but last day or so stronger so af is prob about to turn up. try not to worry... waiting is awful though! you should keep eye on one sided pain though... any chance you could get blood test done?
