Hi ladies,

Thought I'd start a new support thread for those of us who have got/had AF this month and are still TTC. Please let me know if I've missed anyone out.

Me too! Do any of you test BBT? I've just bought an Easy Home thermometer and started recording this morning (CD 4). Am I right in thinking the temperature goes up just before ovulation or is it afterwards? And is it a really noticeable rise or very slight?

Place marking! Hoping to start TTC at the end of June/beginning of July. Have had some (mild) medical issues recently though so won't find out if I can TTC with medicine dose I am taking until next week. Fingers crossed! Welcome everyone else to the thread too!

I use natural cycles @AureliaRose and your temp drops when you ovulate and then goes back up. I combine it with ovulation sticks

Hey all! 5 months TTC and now in the TWW! Been a bit more conscious of what I'm putting in my body this month. Lots of water and vitamins and trying to cut back on the naughty snacks! Fingers crossed for us all 😊

TTC #2 starting in July and have been lurking for a few weeks trying to be patient!!!

@Charliecircle11 Thanks for the advice. I think I better read about BBT! I don't know a lot about it. Have been using ovulation test strips, which I'll continue with, but thought this month I'd also try BBT testing too.

Ttc no.2 with endo...any suggestions???? I had a laparoscopy to remove some adhesions but it would be great to hear if anyone has conceived naturally afterwards!

@AureliaRose I'm considering starting bbt monitoring too ... can I ask where you got your thermometer from please? How are you finding doing the tracking? I guess I'm just afraid of it turning really complicated & stressing me out 😩

P.s if any of you have had the Covid jab & have experienced cycle disruptions after please shout out as I'm cycle day 37 now. No idea what had happened. Cycle has gone a bit AWOL 🤷‍♀️

I don't think mine were impacted by my 2 vaccine doses in Jan and March. I came off the pill at the start of Jan and have had 49, 43, 38 and 32 day cycles so they seem to be coming back towards my previous average of 29 days which is what I am hoping for!

@pinkypink24, I had the opposite, I had a much shorter than usual luteal phase after the jab. I actually thought I had implantation bleeding because it was a different couple colour, but quickly turned to full blown AF. It was on the bbc that many women noticed a change (shorter or longer, heavier or lighter periods) in their cycle after the jab but it only lasts 1 cycle and might be due to inflammation.

@pinkypink24 I got my from Amazon. It's a purple thermometer called Easy Home. It's quite good as it has a back light and bleeps when it's done. It was £12.79 and there's a free app called Premom to chart readings.

I had the first AZ jab during my (heavy) period and it dried up the day after. My period was back to normal the next cycle. Just had my second jab and will find out in a couple of weeks whether it's affected my cycle again.

I signed up for a free trial with natural cycles for 4 weeks and paid £10 for their thermometer. Really good app and reminds me to measure

Also struggling with a short luteal phase of around 9/10 days - unsure if I've always been like that or is the jab!

I'm going to try not to symptom spot this time! But use same technique the SPEM method. I start using OPK's from CD10 and start having sex every other day from CD8 until I get a positive OPK and then do 3 days in a row. I'm also taking fertility supplements called Fertility Smart. Obviously one of this has worked so far but going to persevere. I'm also tempted to temperature chart but I feel like I'm already insane as it is so we will see!

Yes I tried last month it felt like we were DTD at the right times and wasn't too tiresome haha obviously didn't work first time round but am doing it again this month!

I am absolutely itching to get going at TTC but trying very hard to be patient until next AF is due (predicted on 18th July). I've been obsessively reading the forums like a mad woman and can't wait for my turn! I am holding off because I would like a minimum 2 year gap with my DS and he was born 29th March 2020. If I conceive this month then my due date would be his birthday and we don't need any more March birthdays in our family so I need to just wait one more month 😅

When TTC my son I did one cycle of just DTD around a predicted fertile period judged from a couple of apps and CP/CM with no luck, then conceived second cycle by DTD every other day from end of AF until AF due again (exhausting!) and I think a couple of extra days around estimated ovulation. That worked and I got my BFP that month 😊

Very aware it may not be as easy this time round, plus we have way less time and energy for DTD (!) so I've started to use OPKs this month to get a better idea of ovulation. Came off the pill at start of Jan and my cycles were long (first was 55 days) but reducing each time. Pre-pregnancy I was an average of 29 days and last cycle was 32 days so I'm nearly back to my 'normal'.

Officially in the 2WW now. Trying to keep positive and avoid symptom spotting this month

My app says I am ovulating a week today, this week is the week 😬 keep doing daily OPK and warned my Husband of a busy week 😂
