Hello Everyone,

I just wondered how long it took you to conceive you're first baby? I am 22 and my partner is 24 we have been trying since December 2020 so I know its not long in the TTC world however each month is becoming harder and harder to come to terms with,
Full breakdown today when AF came, as I thought this was my month. We are both are eating fertility friendly foods, moderate exercise, drinking lots of water. I am taking folic acid and my partner is on wellman conception tablets.

I used to track with OPKS but I found it too stressful now we just have regular sex every other day during most of the month tbh. I never had EWCM but I do notice when I am ovulating compared to other times of the month.

i am just at loss and I don't know if its normal to still be ttc this long in?
note- I haven't been on any contraception pill/implant since 2017.

@JB14C hi lovely, I saw somewhere that gynaecologists recommend having sex once every 3-5 days as the sperm quality is apparently better and sperm live up to 5 days. Im sorry I cant offer any other advice. I really hope you get your bfp soon.

@abbs1 ah that’s interesting, perhaps I’m going overkill? Because sometimes baby dancing does feel like a chore Hmm xx

I think it may have been on GPs Behind Closed Doors actually that I saw it a few years ago 😂

Re: sex only every 3-5 days, is that only if there's a sperm count problem? I followed the Sperm Meets Egg Plan, but a recent study suggested if there were no sperm issues there's the best chance with sex every day over the fertile window.

I think they were suggesting it over the entire month if people dont track fertile window.

First cycle for DC1 and DC2, we've had quite a few friends go through fertility treatment so very aware how lucky we were. I had awful complicated pregnancies so feel like I pay my dues at that stage!
I used an app to track my cycle and had sex every night for 4 nights over my ovulation date and each time would lie with a pillow under my bum and legs in the air to let gravity help things along!

I've read orgasming during sex helps too which I think it mentioned on that amazing YouTube video about the pulses pushing the sperm along

Took me once, twice. The first time I spent 3 weeks feeling extremely nauseous but not sick and had sinusitis for the first time in 2 years. The fact I could have been pregnant gave us a wtf moment. 2 months later I was pregnant at nearly 41.

Before I stopped the pill I was 100% convinced I couldn't get pregnant, so didn't get hung up about it. Had a fiancé that used to promise to pull out. And never did so spent every month scared I was pregnant from 14 to 17.

Decided to give it 12 months and, if after 6 to see if we wanted to continue. Bit of a shock at the time.

10 months i was 30. I didn't track ovulation but did track my cycle. Don't put too much pressure on yourself anything less than a year is considered normal

@JB14C hi there, I’m currently ttc my first baby too. I’m 5 months in now. I just wondered how you got on in your journey? Hope all went well for you xx
