Marvellouslymadmum · 20/06/2021 12:35

@Slk3558 back pain is usual in early pregnancy, I know how hard it is not to worry.

I caved and tested early this morning, which if you know me is something I rarely do as I hate seeing those stark white bfn but I tested as it's Father's Day and it would've been a nice thing to show him this morning, but nope stark white bfn again 10/11dpo so I'm out again and convinced it's never going to happen 😑

choccrumpet · 20/06/2021 12:48

@Marvellouslymadmum I'm sorry about the negative, are you okay? It will happen, you have to keep thinking that way.
You're very right about the babysitters, that will be so convenient!

@Slk3558 time is dragging for me too! I've decided to go by my ovulation dates instead of LMP, it's only about a 5 day difference but thought it best to change it for the 7 week scan to be more accurate, so I've been brought back to 4+5, and feels forever until I reach the next week. But now that you've got the scan booked hopefully time will fly by! I'm trying not to wish the time away and enjoy what I can, so spending the weekend on the couch whilst not feeling the best and taking it easy 🤣

Marvellouslymadmum · 20/06/2021 15:48

@choccrumpet I'm ok, had a bit of a dull for around an hour, convinced myself it was too early 🙄 and I may not be out 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ amd now I'm over it and just want af to hurry the f up so I can get over this stupid long cycle and get on with the next one lol

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 20/06/2021 16:23

@Marvellouslymadmum I wouldn't say definitely out at 10-11 days, given the average is 13 apparently, but it really is rubbish seeing a blank test. Hope you're okay and that you have a good Father's Day with your partner xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 20/06/2021 16:25

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I very much doubt it but nevermind, we've had a good day thank you. How's your partner feeling today? Daddy to be must be quite exciting!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/06/2021 06:57

@Marvellouslymadmum glad you've had a lovely day! Pretty boring Sunday over here, dog walks and a takeaway 😂

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/06/2021 07:24

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 sometimes those are the best days!
I'm starting to get cramps today so that's af on her nasty way over the next couple of days - oh the joy

Slk3558 · 21/06/2021 09:50

@Marvellouslymadmum sorry about your BFN, was it a FRER x

@choccrumpet good move yeah deffo go by your ovulation dates it’s more accurate because LMP assumes you ov day 14, should be changed really but not everyone tracks ov. If you were to go by LMP you’d be measuring behind and that would just make you nervous. Just tell them at the scan you know when you o’d so they can judge according to that x

My appetite has well and truly gone. Don’t fancy anything at all, not being sick or anything but just don’t have an appetite.

Slk3558 · 21/06/2021 09:51

Had to go out this morning and only thing I fancied was a hash brown so got one from the mcdonalds drive thru 🤣

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/06/2021 09:52

@Slk3558 no just a cheap strip Femometer ones I think.
Hope you're able to eat something, it's horrible when you just don't fancy anything!

choccrumpet · 21/06/2021 11:47

@Marvellouslymadmum are those tests as sensitive as a frer? You're not out until it definitely comes 🤞🏼

@Slk3558 yeah that's why I've decided to do it although it was frustrating going from 5weeks+ to 4+ 🙈 but am 5 weeks tomorrow so finally getting there hopefully.

I feel you on the lack of appetite! I haven't been in the mood for normal foods, keep wanting a takeaway or subway or something like that, last night settled on mashed potato and smoked salmon 🤣 but not feeling anything else. Dinner tonight should be interesting.

Just had a 1 and a half hour call going through my design work with a colleague and I feel like I want to 🤢 from all the talking I've done. Definitely feeling a bit more delicate.

Slk3558 · 21/06/2021 12:13

@choccrumpet yeh I keep craving takeaway lol. It’s as if we are needing something extra tasty.

@Marvellouslymadmum Yeh the cheapies probably wouldn’t give a bfp at 10 dpo. Fingers crossed for you x

choccrumpet · 21/06/2021 12:23

@Slk3558 *and lacking most nutrients that home cooked meals have 🤣 but tasty yes. Feeling a bit rubbish now but am getting my nails done later on so hopefully that will be a highlight 🙃

snow90 · 21/06/2021 22:04

Hi everyone. I hope you don't mind if I join this thread. I've been following for a while and you all seem so lovely.

Bit of background info - came off the pill just over a year ago. Had withdrawal bleed and then didn't have another period for over 100 days. Since then my cycles have been fairly irregular, ranging from around 42 days - 56 days.

We decided at the end of last year to put off TTC until my cycle had settled down and also until we'd had our covid jabs. I had my first one in March and that really messed with my cycle, making it 80 days! After reading through this thread I decided I had to do something so I took soy this cycle amongst other vitamins and I'm pretty certain that I ovulated on day 28, which is 10 days earlier than I have in any previous post-pill cycles. We started TTC this month too, although OH's shifts annoyingly fell right in the middle of ovulation so I'm not getting my hopes up at all!

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/06/2021 00:22

@choccrumpet I've no idea really but I've always tested on cheap tests in the past when I've got bfp 🤷🏼‍♀️ it was smu as well lol but I still think I'm out anyway!
What did you have done on your nails? Be aware that for some women gel Polish or acrylics don't stay on a well in pregnancy, but not all.

@snow90 hi 👋🏻 it's so hard when your cycles are all over the place, I'm currently on a long one here but I do find it helps if you're using opk and taking your bbt to track well, good luck!

choccrumpet · 22/06/2021 08:40

@Marvellouslymadmum if they've worked for you before then that makes sense. How are you feeling? Omg thanks for letting me know, I did not know that and hope it won't be the case 🤣 I've been getting shellac on my nails for a few years now, I would be really sad if it stopped staying on!! I just got a red colour this time, I'm trying to get them done once a month only so testing to see how long I can go before they get too long and are difficult to use.

@snow90 that's amazing how well it worked for you, hopefully it helps streamline your cycles going forward! I agree that bbt might work well for you if your cycles are long and a bit unpredictable.

@Slk3558 @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 how are you both doing?
I got my booking appointment this morning for middle of July, thing are beginning to feel more real

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/06/2021 08:56

@choccrumpet to be honest it wasn't a last minute decision to test as it was Father's Day hence the smu. If I actually think there may be a chance I'll tend to buy some frer but I don't keep them in the house or I'm tempted to use them 😂 I'm fine, expecting af to show as my temp has been slowly dropping. Just hoping for a more normal length next two cycles before my referral!
Yes with the nails, I had one lady that the acrylic nails were mega stuck on while she was pregnant, they were like cement lol until she went into labour and they literally all fell off while she was giving birth! It's the hormones, you don't realise how much they effect everything. (I'm a nail tech and beautician amongst other things Incase you didn't guess lol)

choccrumpet · 22/06/2021 09:20

@Marvellouslymadmum that makes too much sense, I should have done that previously but never did and ended up wasting lots of tests 🙃 will you be trying anything else next cycle soy or maca or something else?

Oooh that is so cool (you being a nail tech & beautician I mean)!! When I was younger I used to love doing my nails, had 100's of nail polishes, stickers gems, nail art brushes etc I grew out of it / had less patience to do them myself but have always had an interest in these types of things hence getting them done. I would genuinely be devastated if they started to fall off.. first world problems. so far so good lol. Do you do that full time or on the side?

choccrumpet · 22/06/2021 09:31

Here's what I got done on my nails

Trying anything (everything?) at this point!!!
Slk3558 · 22/06/2021 09:38

Good morning!

@choccrumpet I’m waiting for my scan letter to come through the post. It should be next week as I’ll be 7 weeks. Me I’m okay, you know I’m having these wobbles when my boobs don’t feel sore and don’t feel sick but as per usual woke up and they wore sore again and felt yucky this morning. Just can’t shake the anxiety unfortunately but not long to go now before I cross that milestone. Xx

@snow9 thats great news, I love hearing stories about people taking charge of their fertility, what I think we’ve all learned on here is that if you sit around and expect your cycle to change by itself it won’t, you have to be proactive and then you start seeing the changes.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 22/06/2021 10:15

@snow90 hello welcome!

@Marvellouslymadmum a beautician, that's great! I'm so rubbish at all of that stuff. I hate the dropping temps 😩 just one month til your appointment now to get checked, will you just relax it a bit and just keep up the supplements this month?

@choccrumpet nails are looking great! Are you still feeling rough?

@Slk3558 I get the anxiety honestly, it's a rubbish wait. I switched bras to non underwired - looks like a training bra 😂 - but boobs hurt so much less. I'm wondering if it's the underwire digging in now they've grown. I don't feel too much still, I'm seven weeks. I'm not feeling like a scan yet for some reason, wanting to wait til eight weeks now 🤷‍♀️

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 22/06/2021 10:32

@choccrumpet I think I'll give the maca a chance and carry on with it the next two cycles then stop for my appointment in august and see what's happening, then I may try soy again after that.
I actually only qualified in nails and beauty just before Covid started! Opened a salon then had to close it again 🤦🏼‍♀️ so I'm currently converting a van to be a mobile salon mainly for nails and just doing an odd few appointments mobile while I'm waiting for Covid to go away more lol so I guess I'm doing it along side everything else, wall murals, customising trainers, whatever really! The only reason I got into it was because my previous job (running a children's dance company) was just getting so slow I needed something else. Once I'd started I found I really enjoyed the nails as used to like doing my own like you and found I had a flair for hand painted nail art! I'll attach a pic Loving the summer vibes of yours!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I was rubbish at it all before I did my courses lol

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/06/2021 10:37

For some reason the pic won't add I'll try again in a bit 🤷🏼‍♀️

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 22/06/2021 12:30

@Marvellouslymadmum ah yay please do, be lovely to see your work! That's annoying re: timing for the salon, but a mobile one sounds great. I'd be def keen for that
