@Slk3558 there is no constipation over here, it's free flowing whenever, multiple times a day 😂😅

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 do I need to speak to my GP if I want to increase my iron intake? I'll look into it via dr google anyways.

@Slk3558 im quite drained most of the time too, I've been going to bed between 9-10pm since last week (which might explain the early waking up) and after work around 5pm I just crash and need to do nothing

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 17/06/2021 14:06

@choccrumpet I don't know, I'd say maybe check with them. You had your bloods done recently I think, so they can have an idea of where you're at? I have 15 mg in my 1st trimester vits and then take extra on top. But what the GP suggested

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 17/06/2021 15:23

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 for some reason they didn't check my iron that time but I think certain results indicate low iron (can't remember which now) but mine didn't indicate anything like that. My multivit has 17mg. I'll leave it for a bit and see if I feel any different and then speak to them but there might be something to it especially if I need more of it now.

Marvellouslymadmum · 17/06/2021 18:09

@choccrumpet they check your iron when they take your first lot of pregnancy bloods (or used to) but iron goes down massively in pregnancy. I had really low iron when mine was check in feb and was put on 630mg a day, now lowered to 210mg a day but that's a permanent thing, I later found out iron effect fertility and pregnancy massively so I'm hoping now mines sorted that'll be a small piece if the puzzle. So I'd definitely get it checked if you can

choccrumpet · 17/06/2021 18:22

@Marvellouslymadmum oh yikes you've definitely made me a bit worried about it now but also thank you for sharing. I'll call them tomorrow and see if they'll let me book a blood test. I think officially the first bloods they do is around 12 weeks, is that right? So that's quite far away and probably too long to leave until then

Marvellouslymadmum · 17/06/2021 18:24

@choccrumpet nooo don't be worried, just get it checked. I had no idea how it could effect it until I read it up!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 17/06/2021 18:24

@Marvellouslymadmum 630mg 😲 that's a lot of iron! You must be in a much better position now after correcting that

I started driving one glass of grapefruit juice ( not from concentrate) this cycle and also started taking evening primrose oil. It really helped, instead of only two days ewcm I now got five days! I don't know if it worked, probably not, I'm currently 6 dpo and have no pregnancy symptoms whatsoever. Anyway, having lots of ewcm surely is a positive thing so I wanted to give you all this tip! 🙂

choccrumpet · 17/06/2021 19:13

@Marvellouslymadmum I don't want to google it now so will take your word for it and ask to get it checked 🙃 and that does sound like a huge amount!! But great that it's helped you and you're in a better place now. I'm ready to crawl into bed right now 😅 can't be normal so early on

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 17/06/2021 19:42

@EnjoyingTheSunshine yes grapefruit juice is a great one, gave me days of ewcm also

@choccrumpet I think the tiredness is normal early on, there's a lot of adjusting to the changes! It was just the breathlessness you mentioned - I've had anaemia before and it was like that feeling of being breathless even after talking for a while etc or walking about

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 17/06/2021 20:24

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Okay I get you, I feel a bit silly as I only spoke to my GP yesterday and didn't mention it, just forgot to. I'll call tomorrow, they can be quite slow to get a blood appointment but let's see.

Anyone doing much this weekend? The weather is so crap here 😭

choccrumpet · 18/06/2021 10:05

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 @Marvellouslymadmum spoke with my GP and she said my white and red blood cell count from the last test was good and doesn't indicate low iron or anaemia, and iron test back in December was good so said to keep an eye on it and no need for a blood test now. Thanks for your support ladies 🤗

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 18/06/2021 10:25

@choccrumpet ah that's so awesome!! Guess you'll just need to rest up, and it'll be your partners turn to wait on you and do all housework til you feel better 😂

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 18/06/2021 10:57

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 HA I'm not getting away with it just yet.. 😂 we normally eat really quickly and for some reason ive been eating really slowly recently and he gets so fidgety and annoyed he can't sit still with me as I try to finish my meals 😂

Slk3558 · 18/06/2021 14:30

How is everyone feeling today.

I’m feeling a bit anxious, really want to enjoy this process - but yesterday I was feeling nauseous but today it seems a bit better and just constantly fearing loss of symptoms.

choccrumpet · 18/06/2021 15:23

@Slk3558 that's not nice. To be honest I'm accepting that I can't control the outcome and am trying to enjoy it while I can. Work has been busy so I don't have a lot of free time during the day which probably helps. Are you keeping busy, doing normal things to take your mind off it a bit?

Im looking into booking a private scan for in a few weeks time. I don't need it but would like to. I've read that 7 weeks seems to be the optimal time when you'd expect to hear a heartbeat, anyone know if that would that be a good time to book?

My family live in Ireland and I haven't seen them for over a year now so am trying to decide when / if I can go see them, it's such a hard decision to make in terms of whether it's safe, weighing up pros and cons. So lots going on here

Slk3558 · 18/06/2021 15:51

@choccrumpet that’s a good way of thinking about it, and yes 7 weeks seems like an ideal time to get a scan.

I am trying to think positive but it’s just anxiety getting the better of me. I wfh but I can’t concentrate and just constantly thinking the worst e.g my boobs feel less sore ..does that mean my hormones are dropping etc.

I hope you get to see your family soon!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 how’s it going for you. You’re past the 6 week mark now?

choccrumpet · 18/06/2021 16:34

@Slk3558 I wfh too but have had my days full of meetings. If you can't concentrate I recommend (I obviously DONT recommend 🤣) booking your day full of meetings so you barely even have time to go to the bathroom lol never mind think about anything other than what the next meeting is about.

It sounds like symptoms come and go, it's hard not to worry but also remember that it's normal.

Are you thinking of booking an early scan?

@Marvellouslymadmum how are you feeling? Any progress with the van/bike situation?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 18/06/2021 16:43

@choccrumpet well I'm less civilised, we eat on the sofa in front of a box set most nights 🙈 I'm a really slow eater anyway

@Marvellouslymadmum how're you? Miserable weather to exercise in, I got drenched!

@Slk3558 I'm taking a similar approach to @choccrumpet - nothing I can do now to influence things. I don't have a lot of symptoms and they come and go. I am feeling a bit crappier as we go along, but had a few days of no sore boobs. I'm 6wk4. How're you feeling in yourself, are you feeling okay?

@choccrumpet Ireland's so tough, with the quarantining you have to do when you get there - is it a mandatory two weeks? You must miss your family a lot though

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 18/06/2021 17:16

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 it's just easier for us to eat at our table because of the layout of the house, on the sofa is a treat 😂

I haven't left the house today, going to try go for a run tomorrow! It is horrible outside.

Your scan must be coming up soon!

If you're flying from the uk you can quarantine for 10 days in someone's house so it's not too bad, but also means if I want to go out I'll have to go for over 2 weeks to make it worthwhile. And there's lots of tests to do. A bit easier if fully vaccinated which I'm not yet but eager to be. It's such a hard decision to make. Yeah I miss them, am used to it but during times like these it makes it really hard.

Marvellouslymadmum · 18/06/2021 22:46

Sorry, dropped off the face Of the earth for a couple of days - wifi went down!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I've actually got no idea what my iron levels are now as they haven't been checked again recently

@EnjoyingTheSunshine I'm deffo going to try the grapefruit juice next month!

@choccrumpet that's good news about your iron. I would say 7-8 weeks is a good time for a first scan. Hopefully you get to see your family soon!

@Slk3558 pregnancy symptoms definitely come and go please try big to worry

No luck with the van yet. Feeling perfectly normal to be honest, got a slight achy back but doesn't feel like af ache think it's more furniture moving related

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 19/06/2021 08:12

@Marvellouslymadmum lovely to have to back! Are you still feeling a bit sick and rubbish or okay now?

@choccrumpet really hope you can get something sorted with your family soon, maybe they can come here 🤞

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 19/06/2021 09:51

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 on and off bit not much, I've really got no symptoms of anything to be honest lol think af is gonna sneak up on me this month

choccrumpet · 19/06/2021 11:40

Thank you both @Marvellouslymadmum @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 with the covid testing it's more affordable for me to go over and simpler as I'm one person. Hopefully we can work something out though.

@Marvellouslymadmum welcome back 🤗 no symptoms might be a good thing? Hopefully it doesn't sneak up!
