Morning ladies, how are you all? I've been feeling exhausted recently, no energy to do much. Especially this morning, must not have slept well. All I want to do is to go to bed now.

@Marvellouslymadmum let us know if you decide to try acupuncture, how you get on. You can always try a few different people and see how you like them, it shouldn't be a waste of money as each session will do something for your body.

Marvellouslymadmum · 14/07/2021 10:48

@choccrumpet I was really tired when pregnant with my daughter, fell asleep a few times while my son was playing and woke up to find he'd got into mischief 🤦🏼‍♀️

I don't know what I'm going to do yet, feeling very deflated at the moment - cd19 and 8 days of flashy smilies, looks like another long cycle for me! Last one was 50 days then had more bleeding 10 days later still no clue what that was about and now opk can't decide when Ov is and temps are low, feeling very fed up and hoping this is not peri menopause!! I am wondering though if maybe all the supplements I'm on are you blame?! Should I just cut back 🤔

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/07/2021 11:10

@Marvellouslymadmum that's horrible, no wonder you're deflated. Do you think it could still be the effect of the vaccine? Are there any new supplements you've added in recently?

@choccrumpet hope you're less tired soon! Are you doing okay otherwise? I think I really was tired about 7/8 weeks. I had a bad day yesterday, my 1st in a while, at a business lunch with my boss and someone I was meeting for the 1st time. Got in there and it wasn't well ventilated, and the Parmesan and fish and rich food smells literally made me feel so sick. I couldn't eat hardly a bite, and I arrived a couple mins late and they'd already ordered and poured me a glass of Malbec. I was trying to sip the minimalist amounts, but that wasn't helping the nausea. Felt fine after walking home in the fresh air 😂

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I've honestly no idea what's going on. I haven't added anything new apart from the higher dose maca from last month.

Sounds like a nightmare at your meeting!

choccrumpet · 14/07/2021 11:29

@Marvellouslymadmum that is so frustrating, only a month to go until your appointment. At this point it could be anything really, you could try cut down on supplements but you won't know for sure what's affecting your cycles, it is so hard to know! Do what you think is right, that's all you can do. Might be worth considering acupuncture or reflexology I've also heard is good but not exactly what for

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 that sounds like a horrible situation to be in! Seems like you handled it as best as you could though. How have you been feeling?

I'm still feeling mildly nauseous that comes and goes, had a really good dinner last night of baked potato and dhal like lentils and even had a bagel after although did feel a bit nauseous at least I ate a normal sized portion for me. Not enjoying food has been the hardest I think, it's such a chore to eat, I don't like the sound or taste of anything. Feeling a bit less like myself with not feeling well, I've heard that happens during pregnancy, not the nicest feeling. But am doing mostly okay. Not seeing anyone or doing anything really 😂

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/07/2021 11:29

@Marvellouslymadmum i just looked up out of interest, and various sites said Maca shouldn't be combined with any phytoestrogens, progesterone, evening primrose oil etc as will have an adverse effect - are you taking it with any of those? Some of the products has warnings that Maca is not good for endometriosis also and not to take of you have it. I know you're not diagnosed yet but suspecting?

Might be worth seeing a herbalist about what you can and can't take together and what's contraindicated for endo/adeno - such as evening primrose oil and anything with phytoestrogens are not meant to be good. But it's hard to figure out ourselves and herbs can be so powerful

@choccrumpet well done on the potato and lentils, sounds like a very healthy meal! I'm not loving healthy food also, and not loving cooking. Parter was away and I had a takeaway every evening, just could not be bothered to shop and cook 🙈

Sounds like you're doing well though! Be lazy for a couple weeks, and hopefully will be feeling full of energy and not nauseous and more like socialising! X

@choccrumpet I'm worried about seeing the gynae Incase he tells me o shouldn't be taking some of the suppliments!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 hmm maybe that's it! I take epo up to ovulation normally to try and help with ewcm maybe I should just stop the maca and epo and cut all supliments down to just pregnacare, ubiquinol, but then do I carry on with the other extras or stop aarrrrgh it's so hard! Where would I even find a herbalist?!

choccrumpet · 14/07/2021 12:01

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 honestly it's the best meal (I mean healthy) that I've had in a while, ive barely cooked past few weeks because the thought of it makes me nauseous so I don't blame you for getting takeaways! Feels like takeaways I can stomach but not home cooked meals 🤷🏼‍♀️ it feels like it'll never end 🙈

I should have guessed you do research, you're always so good at coming out with that stuff!

@Marvellouslymadmum you're taking them based on your own research because you've not received any support from professionals up until you see the gynae (or limited support). They can tell you off but at least then you'll know what you should and shouldn't be taking. They can't blame you for doing what you've been doing though. Sounds like it might be worth cutting back a bit and seeing what happens

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/07/2021 12:37

@Marvellouslymadmum I don't know I've never seen one so don't know how to look for a good one!

You take the ISWTE vitamins don't you? If I were in your position, I'd prob continue with all the antioxidant ones as they'll likely help - so the ubiquinol, vit C, vit E, NAC etc and also continue with the vit D. These help egg quality and inflammation.

I'd stop the EPO, soy, Maca etc and also probably the progesterone until I spoke to the gynaecologist. Basically anything hormone affecting or estrogenic.

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 14/07/2021 12:45

@choccrumpet yes I guess you're right, just over a month now!! Woohoo

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 to be honest I research ALOT before I do anything 😂 but when I started taking maca (smaller dose) and epo I didn't know about the endo so I didn't pay too much attention to it. I have just researched and researched about good things for ttc so apart from the soy which I'm not currently takining I'm on -

Pregnacare conception
High dose busy b (h & b)
B6 50mg
C 1000mg
D 25 something 😂 high dose
Vit e higher dose
Maca high dose
Folic acid
Epo up until ov
Magnesium
Ubiquinol 200mg (high absorption)

Think that may be it 🤔 what's nac? I hadn't started progesterone cream yet was just about to order it ready for the elusive ovulation!

choccrumpet · 14/07/2021 13:15

Had the same food for lunch that I had for dinner last night and it's not as good today, struggled to eat it, taste buds are all over the place 🤢 so my body must have needed to enjoy that dinner last night. 😅

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/07/2021 14:38

@choccrumpet thats rubbish! Have to be a different takeaway tonight then 😂

@Marvellouslymadmum I figured it was just because it was before your diagnosis, because before that you'd never have known. I got all my vit recommendations from you, I know you do your research! The NAC was on the ISWTE intermediate plan - powerful antioxidant but not for men to take, just women.

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 14/07/2021 14:54

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I'm trying not to, don't think they make me feel that great either! It's about trying to come up with something for my partner to cook for us, because he's been doing all the cooking 🤣

Marvellouslymadmum · 14/07/2021 23:21

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I actually haven't read iswte yet 🤦🏼‍♀️ I've read bits online and spoken to a lot of people on here but that's about it. I'll have a look at the NAC

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 20/07/2021 09:04

@Marvellouslymadmum sorry I didn't see your message pop up on this thread! How are you? I saw on another group you've had v painful trapped nerve problems x

ISWTE was good but a slog to read. Theres an Advanced Plan for endometriosis is focusing on inflammation and preventing oxidative damage to eggs.

Snapped the pages of the book for the endometriosis plan. Says don't take melatonin if you're trying naturally as messes with your cycle - only for ivf. Also says for endo very important to check your vit D levels and if they're below 40ng/ml or 100 nmol/ L consider high dose supplementation of 4000 to 5000 IU per day. Apparently high vit D helps a lot with the inflammation of endo

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yes I managed to trap a nerve and literally couldn't move without crutches and a lot of pain medication! Luckily it's loads better today, I'm walking unaided and almost med free woohoo.

I've got an Amazon voucher and keep meaning to download iswte but just haven't got around to it. Brilliant thank you! I've had lots of blood tests I'll have to check if they've checked the vit d and if not ask for it or just take a high dose anyway, I'll check what ones I've been taking too.

How are you getting on?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/07/2021 08:08

@Marvellouslymadmum ohh you've been on crutches too, you poor thing!

Bizarrely the intermediate miscarriage plan I did from the book said high vit D also - I just took the spray vit D and supplemented with 3000 mg. Because the Dr hadn't tested mine.

I'm okay thanks, it's a bit weird with everything opening up. Was on the tube yesterday and only one other person had a mask on in my carriage! Still tending to see friends at their home/my home etc haven't braved the pubs yet. Have you guys been out much?

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 21/07/2021 08:51

@Marvellouslymadmum that sounds awful but glad to hear you're feeling better!

I've been out a few times to restaurants but not since this Monday, before this Monday everything felt safe enough, social distancing and masks. We're going out for breakfast this weekend so I'll see what that's like, we still got a seat outside to be safe. I won't feel safer until I get my second vaccine. But so anxious about catching it now ☹️ went to a friends house for a bbq last weekend and there was one person there who said they'd had some symptoms, done loads of lateral flow tests but they were all negative (and are also about 60% accurate). We said you should get a pcr to be sure. I then tried staying away from them for the whole evening. So selfish of them to have come, I couldn't believe it. Some people just don't get it. And that's what makes me nervous

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/07/2021 09:00

@choccrumpet I'm shocked someone would show up with symptoms! So selfish. What if someone has a really vulnerable relative. My colleague's mum is vulnerable, double vaccinated, got it and was really poorly despite having had the vaccine. Just worry selfish people will be everywhere now. I haven't even had one vaccine yet 😬

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 21/07/2021 09:16

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I was shocked, it can be scary in pregnancy so I'm worried about catching it. I'm desperate to get my second, I don't know how you're managing mentally without your first, I wouldn't be able to 🙈 are you planning on getting it?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/07/2021 09:58

@choccrumpet will 💯 get the vaccine, I think in two more weeks. I'm okay, it's being in close proximity like tubes and shops where people aren't wearing masks. I'm still going for dinners and lunches, but there's more distance in restaurants, whereas the pubs and bars seem pretty crowded so I've stopped going.

When's your second vaccine? Our drop in vaccine centres are good here atm, they're frantically trying to get as many people vaccinated as possible

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 21/07/2021 10:07

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 mine is due first week of august so sounds like a similar time to yours? They won't let me get it before the 8 week gap but not long to go now. What I'm really nervous about is being pinged and having to isolate when I've got my next appointment which is the 12 week scan, I'd be so upset if I had to move it so wondering whether we should limit our movements or basically go nowhere in case we are pinged 🤷🏼‍♀️ will see what the cases are closer to the time

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/07/2021 12:33

@choccrumpet when's your scan? I don't know, will it be hard to pre-isolate before the scan? Mine isn't until I'm over 13 weeks, and I guess if I get pinged I'll just rearrange. I'm back at work now some days so there's nothing much I can do
