FRER

Hello!

First time trying to conceive so this is all brand new! I think I am around 8/9 DPO based on my charts and opk results (I'll post my chart too) and I had a negative on a FRER this morning. Had a few symptoms so now feeling a bit deflated about it. It is our second month trying and charting and we have been a lot more commited to it this month than last, so really thought we might have got it right this time. I know it is still early, but just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat or if anyone has any positive reassuring stories of early negative FRERs that went on to become BFPs? Last month I had a FRER that looked almost positive for one day and then negatives after that, so wondering what tests other people are using or if they really are the best about? Thank you!

Ps can anyone advise how I post a picture of my chart on here?

@Thisriveriswild hi! Unfortunately as a new member you'll have to wait 48h before you can post pictures.
That being said, you're still very early to test. Implantation can happen as late as 12dpo, so of course you'd get a BFN now. My advice is to be as patient with testing as possible. The later you test, the more accurate your results will be (re: false negatives).
If you're into statistics: www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/dpo-chart.php?dpo=9
Also, I didn't test positive until 16dpo ;)

Thisriveriswild · 06/06/2021 15:49

Thank you for your reply and that link is very helpful! I'm very new to this so it's hard to know what to expect and what is normal etc., especially with everything I've heard about FRER giving such early BFPs. Did you have many symptoms before you tested positive?

OP posts:
Bundaberg84 · 06/06/2021 15:51

@Thisriveriswild I know, it's overwhelming! My first month was a mess :)
No, I haven't really. Nothing that I wouldn't normally have before AF arrives.

Thisriveriswild · 06/06/2021 15:57

Tell me about it! It's just nice to know other people are going through the same thing. I was fine until I got to about 6/7 dpo and then I started obsessing! Any tips on getting through the second half of the TWW? I find it very hard to distinguish my symptoms at the moment as I only came off the pill three months ago after 12 years continuous use, so I'm not really sure what my usual PMS symptoms are yet.

OP posts:
Bundaberg84 · 06/06/2021 16:04

@Thisriveriswild unfortunately not really. I only start getting crazy around 12dpo now, so there's that 😆
But seriously, try to distract yourself as much as possible. Some just make sure they are out and about every evening in the second half of the TWW. Or try not to have any tests lying around.
Symptom spotting is the worst. The more you're looking for weird things your body is making, the more weird things your body will do 😉 it's crazy how unfamiliar my body started to feel to me.

Hdujsjdjdbru · 06/06/2021 21:00

@Thisriveriswild with my first, I had a negative frer at 9dpo and a faint positive at 10. Currently 6/7dpo myself and going to test Wednesday morning! With my first I had absolutely no symptoms during the tww.

Thisriveriswild · 06/06/2021 21:38

@Bundaberg84 I wish I had managed to hold off until 12 dpo until the craziness started 😅 it feels like it has been forever already! I've got no tests left and I'm not going to get any for a couple of days, then I'll test again. You're right there! I've noticed all sorts of things I hadn't given a second thought to before.

@Hdujsjdjdbru that's very reassuring thank you - I was so sad this morning when it was negative. Is 9/10 doo when it is typically sensible to start testing? That's good to know about you not having symptoms - I was worrying as I've had no cramping and lots of ladies on here mention that one quite frequently.

OP posts:
Hdujsjdjdbru · 06/06/2021 21:43

@Thisriveriswild if you can hold out until 10dpo and use the frer that would be good! I had also had a vvv faint line on a cheapie one step one too but nothing on either at 9dpo. But equally, lots of people might not get a positive then either still until a few days later. I mean ideally you'd wait until after your period is due to test but we all know that's hard 🤣

Bundaberg84 · 07/06/2021 08:36

@Thisriveriswild as @Hdujsjdjdbru, ideally you'd wait until AF is overdue. But it depends if you can handle BFNs or not. Some love to test every day starting 9dpo, others get even more anxious with every BFN that you'd most certainly see at that point. That's up to you :) The later you test, the more accurate your result will be.
The reason why many will get a BFN at 10dpo is because most will have implantation at 9dpo. But others won't have implantation before 12dpo, and they won't get a BFP before 14dpo. Everyone is different.

mummytoolive · 26/06/2021 21:03

@HereIfYouNeedMe Thanks for replying🤞🏽 I'm 9/10 dpo, getting some more tests delivered Tuesday so going to try not buy any and test again until then xx

rathernotshare · 26/06/2021 21:21

@mummytoolive I can definitely see it!

mummytoolive · 26/06/2021 21:38

@rathernotshare thanks!! DH has said he thinks it's a indent line I'm not sure if FRER are well known for indent lines but will test in a few days and hope for a more visible line 🤞🏽

user090909 · 27/06/2021 08:13

Hi there
I wondered if anyone can see a faint line here?
We dtd 11 days ago and this is frer with first urine. Because I had a miscarriage in January I have had issues with bleeding between periods since then although my cycle for last two months has started always on 27th. So I'm a bit confused - is this a v faint line / not at all? Does that mean I'm definitely not pregnant or am I testing too early ?

FRER
mummytoolive · 27/06/2021 09:03

@user090909 there may be a vvvvvvv faint shadowy line there but I do think you're testing too early, try wait as long as you can to test again, I'm thinking Wednesday if my AF hasn't come by then xx

user090909 · 27/06/2021 09:30

Ok thank you you're right as well I should wait! I just thought by 10 days post o it would.be clear ...

mummytoolive · 28/06/2021 09:50

Not sure what is going on in my body but I've woken up with period like cramps, AF feels imminent 🤷🏾‍♀️ maybe a chemical or a false positive 😬 (TMI but CM is white and very wet) don't know what to think

user090909 · 28/06/2021 10:09

just got my AF . good luck @mummytoolive

mummytoolive · 28/06/2021 10:10

Thankyou @user090909
Good luck to you this cycle! I always like to think of AF arriving as the possible first day of my pregnancy it use to help me get over my previous cycle 😊

user090909 · 28/06/2021 10:37

@mummytoolive youre so sweet thank you! It looks like a positive for you - so best of luck

mummytoolive · 29/06/2021 14:22

mummytoolive · 29/06/2021 14:51

@user1494360838 Thankyou!! I'll wait for AF and if it doesn't show do another test. I'm due Wed/Thurs so not too long to wait 🤞🏽
