Weird period?
On Thursday (day 25) I had brown spotting, Friday a bit of fresh blood (not much), sat & sun a bit of brown spotting & tiny bit fresh blood and today the tiniest bit of brown spotting. I thought it was my period but it seems erratic & weird.
Anyone else experience it like this?
Thank you Smile

@babyreds1518

If you were me I would say implantation bleeding as I've had that several times, is it too early for a test?

Mattieandmummy · 24/08/2021 07:26

Or I was told that spotting pre-period can mean low progesterone but you'd only know the answer to that one if you did a 21 day test.

Hi everyone,

Just catching up on messages after 2 weeks away on holiday where I've stocked up on maternity jeans as normal ones now too uncomfortable with my bump that's getting more pronounced. 17 weeks and 5 days now and have 2nd midwifery appointment tomorrow.

Congratulations to those who got BFPs recently.

Sorry to those who haven't/who have had disappointing news recently.

Welcome to the new members who have joined us.

XxX

@Mattieandmummy thank you so much for your reply! I have just read up on low progesterone and I tick every box 🤯
I have a little fresh blood stained almost discharge like stuff today 🧐
This is all so new to me, I just really hope I get pregnant!xx

babyreds1518 · 24/08/2021 09:55

Hello all Grin
I am new here and have loved reading your posts and thankful for your responses.

I hope this is not an insensitive question but I wonder if any of you have given yourself a timeframe (age) for getting pregnant and if it doesn't happen you will stop trying? I'm only 4 months in to trying x

Honey2 · 24/08/2021 10:14

@babyreds1518 welcome! I gave my self 6 months, because I didnt want to be 42 when giving birth (so 6 months took me up to the month before my bday!) since then I’ve had 2 early MC and one chemical pg…. Which qualified me for an apt at the recurrent MC clinic. So the 6 months is being stretched! This is month 8 for me now. All that said we’ve decide if I get preg this month and MC again that’s us done. If I don’t get pg this month we will try once more in Sept and then draw the line. It’s such a person thing but for us, since I already have 3 beautiful children I feel if it’s not happened by then I’ve finally comes to terms with the idea of stopping….. so so hard though!

babyreds1518 · 24/08/2021 11:06

Aw @Honey2 you've been through so much! I understand what you're saying but that longing is there, it can't be easy to just stop. I got pregnant at 29 and 33 - both times immediately. I am now 40 and 8 months and full of regret for leaving it until now. My friend is 41 and 5 months and going to keep trying I think. For me I just cannot get age out of my head.. I don't know why!

I really hope you have a successful pregnancy soon! Xxx

Marvellouslymadmum · 24/08/2021 11:34

@babyreds1518 I don't have an upper age limit in mind. I have two teenage children and so does my partner but we have none together, we got pregnant and had a mc in 2017 then started trying again in 2018 so 3.5 years trying, I was worried about age earlier on but I'm not 42 still feel no different abs I'm thinking I'll carry on until I decide I don't want to any more, we want that baby together so much. Whatever you decide will be the right decision for you, everyone is different

Geriatric1234 · 24/08/2021 15:10

@babyreds1518 I’m ttc #1 but have 2 DSC. I turned 43 just over a week ago and we only ttc after a surprise in November 2020 (early MC at 6+4). I’ve ditched all ovulation sticks and have stopped stressing about it as I’m happy for nature to decide. But we will just “try without trying” (I’ll take prenatal vitamins but also drink wine when I want!) until my DH gets his vasectomy (estimated Nov). I’m happy either way as I really like my childfree-ish life but I want to look back knowing we gave it a shot. X

Catconfusion · 24/08/2021 16:43

@babyreds1518 welcome to the thread. We always said we’d keep going until either a doctor told us it was unlikely or it just didn’t happen. I had the age of 45 in mind for maybe stopping. We’ve both turned 42 and have 1 ds aged 16 months so really want a sibling for him.

I’m currently 8 plus 4 weeks pregnant so fingers crossed this is it for us after three early losses. Xx

Catconfusion · 24/08/2021 16:44

I’ve just got back from our second scan and everything is looking great. We even saw little arms and legs. I’m so relieved, hardly slept last night in anticipation. Xx

Littlemiss41andfabulous · 24/08/2021 18:13

Wonderful news @Catconfusion!

Welcome @babyreds1518 - due to life circumstances I have only been able to start trying to conceive since I hit 40. I got pregnant after 13 months of trying and just before that was very despondent and beginning to consider if we needed to start looking into IVF. It felt like an impossibility getting onto that first rung of parenting ladder (actually conceiving) but since getting my BFP in May my pregnancy has run smoothly and my age has been less of an issue in my head. This baby will be born 2 months before my 42nd birthday. I've always wanted 2 children so am hoping to conceive a sibling for this one, which will mean I will still be trying to conceive when I'm 43/44.

Mattieandmummy · 24/08/2021 18:49

I'm just 40 and we have an almost 3 year old. I'm not sure about an age for stopping, I lost two before my daughter and have had 1 miscarriage and 3 chemicals since starting to TTC again in January. We had such a traumatic birth with my daughter that we were too frightened to start TTC again until this year and now I have been diagnosed with Adenomyosis. I don't know what to think about it all tbh. I had such a horrible childhood and had it drummed into me that children were a burden and childbirth to be avoided I left it till 34 to start. I desperately wish so much was different.

Marvellouslymadmum · 24/08/2021 21:01

@Catconfusion that's great news! So pleased for you!!

babyreds1518 · 24/08/2021 21:31

@Catconfusion wonderful news! Huge congrats 🥰

babyreds1518 · 24/08/2021 21:33

@Littlemiss41andfabulous that certainly is fabulous news ❤️ when are you due?x

babyreds1518 · 24/08/2021 21:35

@Mattieandmummy Aww my love.. you've not had an easy time. Sending you love & hoping you get a positive result soon ❤️

99pctpractice · 24/08/2021 21:54

@Catconfusion awesome news!! Must be such a relief.

@Mattieandmummy I’m so sorry you had that experience. The whole ttc experience is hard enough already without having the additional layers that you have had to deal with. Due to different circumstances, but I also delayed trying for a second for longer than I would have liked and now am so worried that it won’t happen given that I’m 40 and have a v low AMH. I’m not sure how long we’ll keep trying for….it feels so all consuming from an emotional perspective.

feelingkenty · 25/08/2021 01:44

I am 41. Originally I though my cut of date would be if I was pregnant by 42 and 3 months so any baby was born by the time I was 43 but we'll see.

I had three children at ages 34, 36 and 38 but due to tragic circumstances have decided to TTC a fourth. DH has had a vasectomy reversal. This is my second cycle TTC I guess

feelingkenty · 25/08/2021 01:44

^^Thought!

feelingkenty · 25/08/2021 02:17

@Mattieandmummy I've also had a diagnosis of adenomyosis since my third (which I had treatment for when I had no plans of TTC a 4th). Also suffered from endometriosis which was diagnosed when I was 26 so very lucky to have had my three (lucky until I had a child die of terminal illness obviously)

Catconfusion · 25/08/2021 04:53

Thank you ladies, it’s made all the vomiting totally worth it. You know how it is though, it’s on to the next hurdle which is the 10 week scan in two weeks. Xx

Honey2 · 25/08/2021 07:17

@Catconfusion I’m thrilled for you. It’s sounding really really positive xx

Catconfusion · 25/08/2021 08:25

Thank you @Honey2 I really appreciate it. Xx
