@Mattieandmummy I totally believe in that decisiveness! ;-D

Honey2 · 09/07/2021 15:41

@Mum2baby07 do you have the Femometer app? It can intelligently recognise your peak from a photo… although I don’t think there is any mistaking that as a peak

Honey2 · 09/07/2021 15:45

We’ll hear we go again…. Positive on a FRER this morning at 10dpo. But the line looks very faint to me so I don’t hold out much hope. I just really hope if it’s a bad egg again I have a very early MC not another 7/8 weeker. I know I seem to be wishing it away before it’s even begun but I just cannot feel any joy in a positive test anymore. I guess at least it seems I don’t have a problem getting pregnant which I am very grateful for.

Congratulations @Honey2 I think that's quite dark for 10dpo. Mine was a squinter. Fingers crossed for you xx

@October1979 thanks. How are you getting on? How many weeks/ days now? Will you book an early scan?

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 09/07/2021 17:30

Congratulations @Honey2 My line was fainter than that at 14dpo and I went on to have a successful pregnancy. Will be keeping everything crossed for you.

Catconfusion · 09/07/2021 17:54

Yay @Honey2 looks like a good line to me considering how early it is. I’ve got everything crossed for you! Xx

Littlemiss40andfabulous · 09/07/2021 19:28

@Honey2 congratulations! Hoping this one sticks for you, but understand you not getting too excited just yet. It's such a rollercoaster journey xxx

October1979 · 09/07/2021 20:54

@Honey2 I'm 21dpo today. Not sure how many weeks that makes me? I ovulated cd 20. So had a long cycle this month. How do you work it out? Lines seem to be progressing. I did a Clearblue digital weeks test today and it says 2-3 weeks. Think I will do an early scan as don't want to get to excited and would rather know bad news sooner rather than later.

@October1979 wow, your line progression is amazing. You must be 5 weeks if 21 dpo. You start from two weeks before O. You could get a scan from about 6 weeks onwards so not too long to go. I just think it’s amazing and it’s looking like the doctors were wrong about your odds. It gives me hope! Xx

Lastyearttc · 09/07/2021 21:53

@Honey2 Oooo congratulations! It's so hard not to allow yourself to be absolutely over the moon isn't it! Praying this one will stick for you Mrs x

Just wondering to those pregnant girls amongst us... how old you are!? I know it not all down to age but just curious!

October1979 · 09/07/2021 22:17

@Catconfusion thanks let's hope the drs were wrong. It has been a long journey. Just hoping it works out this time. I'm glad it gives you hope. You have conceived like me. I would say its all about the right egg, total luck. The only difference this month for me is taking aspirin every night throughout my cycle, also the progesterone cream. Stay hopeful @Catconfusion I know it's hard and I'm not out of the woods yet. I am suspicious that fertility doctors assume that if it was going to happen it would have happened before you come to them. Therefore they say it's unlikely based on their experience of their patients and common sense that it's tougher over 40. They also want the business. Trust your body.
@Lastyearttc I am 41. I will be 42 in October xx

@October1979 @Littlemiss40andfabulous @Catconfusion @Lastyearttc @Mickymackyboobaaboo thanks all. Will keep everything cross and test again on Sunday.

@octoctor1979 that does look like good progression. If I were you I’d hold off and get a scan towards the end of 6 weeks. By there should be a fetus and heartbeat. If you go too early AMA there is no fetus/HB they cannot confirm if the pregnancy is just ok early or if it’s not viable. Then you end up in a horrible limbo. Wishing you all the luck in the world that this is your good egg!

Honey2 · 09/07/2021 22:31

Sorry that should say and there is no fetus/hb

October1979 · 09/07/2021 22:39

@Honey2 I think I will try wait till 7weeks. You are right. It would be awful being in limbo xx

Mattieandmummy · 10/07/2021 06:05

Congratulations @Honey2! Hope this one works out for you xxx

Mattieandmummy · 10/07/2021 06:16

@lastyearttc we were told not to to abstain for longer than 5 days before the test and no less than 2 days because the more sex you are having the more testosterone your DH is producing and the better and more sperm he will produce and that testing outside of that 2-5 day range doesn't produce reliable results because the sperm degrades quite quickly.

Having said that the numbers all seem to be over the minimums so that's good but tbh I don't really know what it all means, sorry love

Catconfusion · 10/07/2021 07:38

@October1979 it just seems like madness to assume it won’t happen based on age alone when so many people have babies over 40. I guess they see the people who are having troubles so that group are less likely. Ttc for 2-3 years doesn’t seem abnormal for the under 35s but for us it means our eggs are no good 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Yes, probably wise to wait for nearer the 7 weeks mark. You do know your ovulation date as you’ve been tracking so there should be a HB during the 6th week. I went at 6 plus 3 with my ds as that’s the best appointment they could give me and there it was, beating away.

I have a really good feeling about this one! Xx

Mum2baby07 · 10/07/2021 08:49

That’s great news @Honey2 and looks a strong line! Fingers crossed this is the one.
@October1979 some great progression there - hoping the same for you and it’s a good egg!
@Lastyearttc I’m not sure it’s a problem for us all getting pg it’s more getting to full term. I accidentally fell pg at 42 but sadly mc at nine weeks and I’m 43 later this year but still going to have a few more rolls of the dice yet! The way I see it, I have nothing to lose and everything to gain x

Geriatric1234 · 10/07/2021 10:21

AAAAAHHHH Yay AGAIN @Honey2! And great lines @October1979!

I’m 43 next month @Mum2baby07 but I figure I’ll keep “trying” though I admit I feel like a do a lot less than many of these amazing women. I did all my tests and all looks good, but haven’t asked for fertility referrals. I’m working on the basis that it’s just luck waiting for a good egg (or a good sperm!) so it’s up to nature. I figure it’s just time. The successes on here make me feel v positive, but if it doesn’t happen that’s okay too. Xx

Honey2 · 10/07/2021 19:49

@Littlemiss40andfabulous @Catconfusion @October1979 just wondering if it’s gets to that point, are you considering getting the NIPT test?

@Lastyearttc I’m 41 (had my birthday in may)

Littlemiss40andfabulous · 10/07/2021 21:19

@Honey2 if we get there I plan to have it if it's offered (am I right in thinking that's just a blood test so no risk to the baby?). But I don't plan to get too stressed about the results as I want to let nature take its course, what ever the results XxX

Catconfusion · 10/07/2021 21:41

@Honey2 yes definitely having the nipt. With ds I found the wait for the combined screening test really stressful as I know a few people who’ve had false alarms and had to have amnios. I’d rather know all chromosomal ok at the ten week mark. Xx

October1979 · 10/07/2021 22:07

@Honey2 Is the NIPT test the same as the harmony test? I was going to go private at 10 weeks and get it done if all seems ok up till then.

OP posts:
sabtom · 10/07/2021 22:16

I agree with @Catconfusion at 10 weeks I'll be paying privately for the NIPT test. I don't think I could wait till 12 weeks only to be told I'm high risk. The sooner I can start relaxing and enjoying this pregnancy the better 😅. (Touch Wood I get to 10 weeks)
