@Mum2baby07 Seconding what the others have said regarding one step. Will be binning mine. Below is a comparison of how faint the line was on the one step OPK . Top one one step & below one easy@home OPK taken the same day as my LH levels were rising. If I wouldn't have purchased the easy@home ones I would never have found my supposed LH peak. Total waste of money - I found that the barely there faint line on the one steps never changed / got darker / lighter regardless of LH surge supposedly increasing - it was the easy@home ones which the result lines increased / decreased daily.

Thank you all for your recommendations... just bought some femometer opks off Amazon and downloaded the app. Always feel I need to do something new once af sods off! Lol
@Mickymackyboobaaboo I take 400g of coq10 everyday.

just wondering if there is anything else to improve the egg quality while I'm at boots tomorrow!

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/06/2021 22:45

@Mum2baby07 I set my alarm for 15 mins before I have to be up in the week, amd do that 7 days so it's the same time every day. I literally lean my arm out the covers to pick up the thermometer off the bedside table and take my temp before moving. I've found it much easier that way

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 22/06/2021 22:52

@Mum2baby07 I think you're also meant to have at least 3 hours of sleep before taking your BBT so that your waking temp is accurate. Mine was always a bit off if I'd woken up to use the toilet a few hours before!

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 22/06/2021 23:01

@Lastyearttc if you find something in Boots let us know.

I've no idea what's happening with me this cycle. AF was due yesterday (always comes on time) but no sign of it and no symptoms at all of its impending arrival. Two negative pregnancy tests so can't even get my hopes up this month.

October1979 · 23/06/2021 07:09

Thanks@Honey2 for the advice re aspirin I'm giving it a try this month. The thread you posted@Geriatric1234 is motivation indeed thanks for posting. For everyone discussing opks I am using Clearblue connected. They are expensive but I like the digital display and that the link to my phone so I can keep track.

@Mickymackyboobaaboo did you have the Covid jab recently?

pinkypink24 · 23/06/2021 07:57

Just asking as I had my vaccination when I was on my period last month 16 May. I'm currently 39 day cycle several bfns. Doctors appointment booked for Monday to get checked over.

I've only been off my pill 4 month & previous 3 cycles were 24 days so to go from 24 days to almost 40 days now is slightly concerning 🤷‍♀️but I guess it could just be my cycle going a bit awol ... who knows?

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/06/2021 09:09

@October1979 I use the connected ones too and get them from eBay for around £25 much cheaper

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 23/06/2021 10:13

@pinkypink24 actually I did have my second jab on 10th May. I hadn't thought of that.

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 23/06/2021 10:16

@pinkypink24 that's a big difference in your cycles! Good luck for Monday. Mine are usually 29 days.

Littlemiss40andfabulous · 23/06/2021 12:27

Hi everyone, just checking in and wanted to update you that I made it to my first face to face booking in appointment with the midwife today, who knows my age etc and didn't seem too concerned that at this point it should stop me having a healthy pregnancy progression, and is likely there will be a heart beat at 12 week scan. So a little bit more excited and hopeful this could actually end with a baby in my arms 😊

Current symptoms include very mild queasiness in the mornings, tiredness and needed naps some days, and needing the loo about 15 times a day. I've not had any bleeding.

I hope this encourages you all, and looking forward to sharing more of your BFPs soon

XxX

sabtom · 23/06/2021 12:39

@Littlemiss40andfabulous yey! So happy for you! Any tips on how to get through the wait for the first scan?! Confused

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 23/06/2021 14:26

Hi all

Can I please ask for some advice as this next step in my TTC journey is all new to me?

It looks like AF is on the way today and it's been 12 months of trying with no success so I've just phoned a local fertility clinic and made an appointment for a fertility MOT. This includes a consultation, pelvic ultrasound and AMH blood test (also with the possibility of sperm analysis for DH if required). Is there anything I need to know/anything else I could be doing?

They do also offer endometrial scratching but I think this is for ladies who have had failed IVF where there may be may be implantation issues, and not necessarily for those who have/may have endometriosis.

Any advice appreciated!

sabtom · 23/06/2021 19:21

@Mickymackyboobaaboo I would get an appointment booked as soon as you can. We started TTC when I was 39, and the GP said to wait 6 months before they would refer me, I kinda wish now I lied and said we had started trying 6 months ago cause it took another 6 months to get appointments booked! Anyway, the sooner you know what's going on the better. Hope everything goes well for you! XThanks

So I caved today, and pee'd on the last pregnancy test I have left. 3+ makes me feel a little more relaxed. Going by my LMP I should be 4+6 today, but I ovulated a little earlier this month than normal (peak opk was CD10) so I might a little further than I think. The cramps seem to have stopped and I'm still not getting any other symptoms yet 😕

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 23/06/2021 20:34

Thanks @sabtom I've paid for a private clinic rather than going through the GP as, like many of us here, we're up against the clock and I don't want to wait months for a referral. My AMH test and ultrasound are next Wednesday.

Is this your first pregnancy? I remember not having any real symptoms with my DD until 7 weeks along when I started to feel exhausted by 8pm and would gag while brushing my teeth.

Mum2baby07 · 23/06/2021 20:55

@pinkypink24 thanks for the photo - that massively brings it home and one step are now firmly filed in the bin!

@Mickymackyboobaaboo and @Marvellouslymadmum really appreciate the top tips regarding bbt. It’s currently on order so I’ll let you know how I get on when it arrives. Keen to understand what’s happening as still awaiting first AF post mc and finding it hard as worried it make take ages to ovulate again and just don’t have time on my side!

@Littlemiss40andfabulous lovely to hear your update and you are keeping well! You too @sabtom!

sabtom · 23/06/2021 22:15

@Mickymackyboobaaboo no it's my 2nd. 1st one ended in MMC unfortunately. It was the same with the first pregnancy, no symptoms, so that's why I'm a little anxious this time round. 😕

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 23/06/2021 23:11

@sabtom I'm sorry to hear about your previous MMC; I can understand why you would be anxious this time around. Sending lots of positive vibes your way.

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/06/2021 23:40

@Littlemiss40andfabulous that's so good to hear, really pleased everything's going well for you

@Mickymackyboobaaboo I'd say go for your tests and see what comes back, have you had your bloods checked with your gp? They will do some for you too

@sabtom that's good that you've got 3+ I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on those and a lot of people never even get a 3+! Don't forget every pregnancy is totally different, I had loads of symptoms all the way through with my son but barely anything with my daughter!

Littlemiss40andfabulous · 24/06/2021 07:23

@sabtom congratulations! That's wonderful news! So pleased for you.

To answer your question, being a teacher helps with the wait for the 12 week scan- as I have so much to try and fit into each day it's a good distraction. In fact even if I'd chosen to go for an early scan I'm not sure where we'd have fitted it in! I fully expect to have to rearrange the 12 week scan as it'll be for a time I have teaching commitments on.

October1979 · 24/06/2021 09:08

I'm so glad things are going well@Littlemiss40andfabulous @sabtom it's lovely to hear and helps keep me positive xx

Catconfusion · 24/06/2021 09:57

@October1979 are you taking aspirin now? I’m debating whether to take throughout the cycle. I hope you’re keeping well!

@Littlemiss40andfabulous great news about the midwife appointment and good you’re feeling confident. Fingers crossed all is well at the scan. I was a teacher for 12 years and can imagine it’s a good distraction. Take care though and get as much rest as you can.

@sabtom great news on the 3+ It’s so difficult to know judging by symptoms. I felt the same with my mmc and my ds. I vomited every day with both pregnancies so I think with lots of symptoms or none it can go either way. The midwife and GP were both reassuring about my mmc pregnancy based on symptoms not knowing I’d already lost it. Until the scan it’s so difficult to know what’s going on. Fingers crossed for you it’s good news.

Good luck with the tests @Mickymackyboobaaboo

@pinkypink24 I hope you get to the bottom of why you’re having a long cycle. Mine are usually horrendous at 50 plus days so I feel your pain.

@Honey2 I hope you’re keeping well and feeling better. Did the midwife suggest aspirin on a bfp or just take it every day? My gp told me to take it with a bfp with ds so I started at 12 dpo and the pregnancy was healthy. I’m now wondering whether to start after ovulation or now since I’ve had three chemicals.

As for me, I’m cd 10 and had the most horrendous bleeding and then spotting after my last chemical. I barely had a positive test with this one yet my bleeding was worse than more established losses 🤷🏻‍♀️. Anyway it’s stopped now so I’m ready to try again. I turn 42 next week so feeling a bit conflicted about ttc and whether we have a chance now. We’re away glamping when I’m hoping O will come so might be nice to be relax we. DH has his SA today so we should get our fertility referral soon. Anyway I hope you’re all doing ok. Xx

Lastyearttc · 24/06/2021 14:27

@Catconfusion funny that, my oh also did his SA today lol. Can't believe he did as postponed last time due to work! That's all our tests done, just waiting for the consultant appointment mid July now. I'm 43 in August so am thinking is not going to happen for me now, 12 cycles since last mc

Catconfusion · 24/06/2021 14:42

@Lastyearttc how funny they both did it today. Fingers crossed for a quick appointment for us both. Don’t give up hope. A good friend of mine had a baby a 44 with no problems. I can imagine it’s tough if you’ve gone a year without a positive test but if your test results look ok it could still just happen. I heard you’re not out unless AMH goes below 1. I’m not sure who said that but as long as there are eggs, it’s possible. Also healthy people much younger take a year and it’s considered normal.

We’ve been ttc to conceive since the beginning of the year. Out of 4 cycles (my cycles are long) I’ve had 3 early miscarriages. I had my ds last April so I’m hoping it’s just recovery from my elective c section. I’m 42 next Wednesday. Time goes so quickly. It feels like I was turning 40 5 minutes ago! Xx
