The girls have swapped their checked shirts for pastel dresses and it’s time to sit back and relax after a stressful few weeks (months…years!!)

Welcome to the 10th (!) post pill party thread for women who have recently come off the pill. Whether you’re struggling with an insanely long cycle or an insanely short cycle, your luteal phase is crazy short, your temps are all over the place, or you’re just feeling like if you see one more day of a damn flashing smiley you’re going to throw it out the window…we’re here for you. @kay00 that all sounds really good! Btw for MMR our doc just added a rubella antibody test which checks for the same thing - just in case your GP hasn't got a scooby. I've had all of those tests if you ever need to ask anything!

@Juno231 thank you! I was really surprised but actually they did know I had two MMR jabs as a child, one on in August '87 and one in Feb '90 - cute!!

I have booked in my blood tests and worked out where the special 'blood test' room at my local hospital is for the ovarian reserve blood test.

My OH just needs to book in his SA next.

My 2nd colonoscopy is booked for Sunday 16th May... so I have to start the prep (ahem) and restricted diet this Saturday... joy!

@Juno231 hahaha!!! OH wishes! Nope, I will be taking laxatives for 7 days before hand (increasing in strength towards next weekend), 5 days of low fibre diet (no veg or salad etc) and no food for 24 hours before the procedure... Its rubbish, but i'm hoping to loose a few pounds !!

@feliznavidad2 certainly DTD just in case! Some women get EWCM for up to a week before ovulation... just keep testing for now, sounds like your body is doing something

Eurgh I’ve been super emotional this afternoon, spent an hour on the phone to my friend crying, she thinks I’ve finally lost the plot 😂 guessing AF is round the corner 🙁

Just sticking my head in to say a MASSIVE congrats @Flowers222 so so happy for you. I know it’s really early days so I get it fingers crossed for a sticky bean and that’s a super good line for 11dpo

@ChinChilly great news on your appt lovely. I’m so sorry you’re having a tough evening tonight, we’re all here for you if you need us. We know how you feel! I stopped taking the pill in May last year so a whole bloody year. One miscarriage and ERPC and only a handful of cycles later here I am. It’s incredibly frustrating and I really, really struggle with it all some days. Sending love xxx

Just a small update from me guys, I ovulated the earliest I ever have this cycle thanks to the soy iso. CD21! I was so CHUFFED! Only had 27, 26, 31, 44 before this. Over the bloody moon. We managed to DTD lots too which I was so proud of us for haha! I’m 4DPO now. I’m not temping now as I promised DH I wouldn’t after having a complete breakdown last cycle at CD3 when my temp dropped (you may remember!!) it’s actually going well and I feel better for it. Just trying to pretend it’s not happening really. What will be will be. Staying positive and hopeful but also protecting myself as much as I can. Doesn’t stop me from googling stuff obvs but I am trying not to. Hope everyone’s okay xxx

@TheHotelCalifornia thank you for your kind words, I am having a right mare this evening! Its just frustrating, people keep telling me ‘atleast you know you can get pregnant’ but I’m so far into my pity party tonight I’m thinking what if that was a fluke?!?! I really do need to come on here and moan sometimes as nobody else seems to understand... I’m sure it is just one of those days and I’ll be ok tomorrow 🙁

@thehotelcalifornia we can be cycle buddies, im 2 DPO and I agree that there is nothing we can do about it now... its up to our egg so just relax xx fingers crossed 🤞

@ChinChilly I am so sorry you have had an emotional afternoon! I hope you feel a bit better after a good cry though. Sometimes it's good to get it out of the system! You are definitely not losing the plot! It's just hard.

I had actually been off the pill for 14 months, and actively trying for 11. My cycles have been all over the place so I had 8 cycles in that time and various tests at the doctors never showed why. No idea why it worked this time, I didn't really do anything different except stop taking pregnacare, but can't imagine that was the issue!

@Kay00 @Flowers222 thanks both, some days are just harder than others, I’m sure AF will turn up over the next few days and that will explain the extreme emotions. @Flowers222 I can’t imagine it was the pregnacare but tbh with this TTC malarkey you never bloody know!

AF still hasn't turned up but I've been having little niggles so she must be stuck in traffic 🙄
Supposed to be going to my friends tonight for a drink but the thought of it is making me want to cry, it was supposed to be a couples thing and there's a hot tub, my boyfriends hurt his foot and can't walk but told me to still go, but earlier on in the week my friend said she's due on on Tuesday so hopes she was off by Friday but if not she's still going to get in the hot tub cos she's only light and it's fine to do, I said it's fine to do but I wouldn't do it and expect my friend and her bf to sit in a hot tub when she's on her period.. am I just being a dick head or would anyone else have an issue? I'm not a prude or weirded out by periods in the slightest it's just a bit weird to me sharing water with them 😂
Then earlier today me and my colleague were talking about the pill blood clots etc and she was saying it's you have to watch when to have sex then said "and, you don't know if you'll be able to have kids" I said please don't say that, she said no I don't mean to upset you but it can happen after being on something for so many years. She is 50+ and childless through choice if you can't always tell do yeah..

@MissM94 hm depends on what sanitary products she uses I guess? If she was just letting it flow that would be weird but I wouldn't bat an eye if she was using a cup or tampon. I'm sorry you're feeling down - the good thing about OH not going though is that it keeps his swimmers safe from the hot tub

Also your colleague is a moron, that's not how the pill works! Tbh all of us on here with TTC problems post pill it's due to the pill masking problems we had, not actually causing it I don't think.
