I hope this name is okay. It's late and nobody is volunteering so it'll have to do 😂

Bloody hell @MrsKin90 what an absolute ballache of a month this has been for you, really sorry ovulation may not have happened.
It doesn’t matter if you have a meltdown, I’ve done it as I’m sure other have on here. It’s very normal when we are bottling up our emotions and especially keeping SI secret to the outside world.

It might be worth writing down a few billet points of things you have to say which will cover you for forgetting or getting upset at the appointment. I’m wishing you lots of luck it gets the ball rolling and they can offer some help. Big hugs to you 💚 xx

Oilyoilyoilgob · 14/05/2021 07:38

*bullet points, cheers auto correct 😏

MrsKin90 · 15/05/2021 08:17

I didn't have a meltdown in the end; my appointment was fine. I can't be referred until I've lost weight but I get to check back in my doctor in just under two months to see if my weight loss has started going more quickly and if not she'll refer me for further help with that, but wants to avoid adding me to a waiting list to get help in order for me to be able to get on a different waiting list 🤯 anyway. I knew that would be the outcome. She was very helpful and went over my previous results for me, and my husband's results as well which was useful. He needs to be referred to another semen analysis just to see if it's any different. That's it really.

@MrsKin90 frustrating is probably being kind to how you must be feeling right now x
Hopefully it's just 1 missed ovulation x
I'm wondering can you still get a period without ovulating that month ? Hopefully AF eventually comes or ovulation happens, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that at least one of them happens so you can get back to baby making x

This vaccine has knocked me for 6 !!
I've got energy in the morning but get to 4pm and I feel like I need to go to bed already !!
Back is sore, joints are sore, and felt a bit grumpy earlier on too, I can't wait for bedtime !!!

Janefx40 · 15/05/2021 22:33

@MrsKin90 well done for getting through the Dr appt. I'm glad she was helpful but it must be hard that you can't get on the waiting list now. Losing weight is so difficult so feel free to come on here for a moan any time.

Had a nice day today. Met family in a park (hopefully the last time we have to sit outside in the rain instead of heading to a pub/cafe!) and then prepped food for my Mum's birthday tomorrow.

Period finally arrived so all set for visit to the new clinic on Monday now

Love to you all xxx

MrsKin90 · 17/05/2021 11:17

You can still have a period of you don't ovulate. But it's sort of luck of the draw really? It's more common, especially for me, to not get one until I've ovulated!

@Carol1980 sorry the vaccine has really hit you. How are you feeling now?

@Janefx40 thanks lovely. I hope your mum's birthday was lovely 😊 let us know how your appointment goes today (or has gone! I've had a late start to the day and just realised it's almost midday!!).

Some people must be nearing the end of their tww no? 🤞🤞

Hi ladies, hope everyone is doing well and had a lovely weekend 😊
I had my first investigative scan at the ivf clinic this afternoon, and all looks well!
She was very torn on whether I have a small fibroid, she said she’s 50/50 but is marking it down as a fibroid to be on the safe side, and it’s under my womb lining. She said it’s that small she can’t be sure if it even is a fibroid and that it should cause no issues for implantation. My ovaries look normal, phew.

I’d spent all weekend being very good re not worrying but the thought was still there about pcos/cysts/fibroids as the consultant said that may be the reason why I have a strong amh level for my age.

So big sighs of relief all round. Husband gives his sperm sample 3rd June and we then have our follow up meeting booked with the consultant on 9th June, when we can start really getting the ball rolling.
Until then, we will keep trying SI and sex (if/when that happens!) and just keep on trying.
The scan was absolutely fine, much calmer than a smear, lights were down for the scan and the bed was comfy. Quite a relaxed appointment comfort wise, and just a little pressure when she looked at my ovaries. Just putting that out there for any ladies who also might start the ivf route.

Hope everyone is doing ok, no matter the stage of their ttc cycle xx

Janefx40 · 17/05/2021 22:26

@Oilyoilyoilgob yay great news on the scan. So pleased there is nothing amiss. Sounds like you are in good hands at that clinic

Xxx

MrsKin90 · 18/05/2021 09:34

@Oilyoilyoilgob that is great news! I'm glad there's no PCOS and if there is a small fibroid they don't think it's anything to worry about.
So it all kicks off in June for you? 🥰 How lovely and not far away at all!

I'm tired of being in limbo now. And I'm sick of not being eligible for IVF yet 😂 so my patience lasted about a week.

I was reflecting on these threads we've had together and how they've really proven that at home insemination works for the majority of people and that they're a viable option for those who can't conceive through intercourse or those who are trying on their own with donated sperm. It cheered me up to think of these threads bringing hope to people who feel as lost and hopeless as I did. Feel good feelings ❤️

Oilyoilyoilgob · 18/05/2021 16:14

Thank you @Janefx40 and @MrsKin90 😊 it’s quite relaxed at the clinic, and it’s helped me being in a medical setting-a bit like exposure therapy for me.

I don’t actually know the protocols re start dates so we’ll find out more at our consultation on 9th, I’m due to start my period the day we start our staycation 🙄 so nothing can be done then!

I’ve not asked that far in advance as I’m assuming our treatment will be based on our collective pre-ivf test results. I’m enjoying just going along with what they say, it’s actually now taken a huge pressure off as what will be will now be.

I’m back on the opks ready for SI this month and now feel like my depression and anxiety have lifted a bit after a really hard few months.
In regards to babies, it’s that feeling of we’ve tried sex/SI and now let’s see if ivf works and if the universe (and science!) doesn’t bless us with a pregnancy then we know we have done all we can 💚

MrsKin, I’m pleased to see you had a good chat with your GP, every but will help in keeping that ball rolling for you both.
Jane I hope your clinic visit went well yesterday too.

Hope everyone is doing well xx

suzy124 · 19/05/2021 16:25

Hi ladies, just been catching up

CD2 for me. AF was very much expected, but for some reason ended up having lots of stupid hope just before, so I cried pretty much all day yesterday. Still struggling massively today, but first blood test out of the way and will wait to see when I ovulate before booking the next one. I'm pretty sure I am ovulating so not too worried about that, but am nervous about the SA. Still waiting for a date for that but hopefully will be very soon. Also hoping OH doesn't get stage fright at the clinic! I'm also due to have a laproscopy at some point, not looking forward to it... just feeling so depressed with each month that passes and it's really taking a toll on my relationship as I'm sure many of you can relate.

@Oilyoilyoilgob thank you lovely for the kind words. You're right it's really nerve-wracking but I am so grateful to finally be starting the process and to not feel just as helpless. I'm so glad to hear your scan went well and that it was good news! I remember the feeling of relief after mine, it's all too easy to convince ourselves that there's something wrong when there isn't (Especially when you got told by a consultant that may be the reason). I'm sure it has helped to relax you somewhat and that may be just what you need this month, fingers crossed! Things seem to be moving along nicely at the clinic too, not long until the next consultation and then I guess you'll have a start date. How exciting!!

@Janefx40 I won't pretend to know what it's like to be on a fifth treatment cycle, I'm sure the mental anguish has been immense but I really hope you can find it within yourself to keep going. You could be closer than you think to having that baby you long for and a sibling for your daughter. I'm going to encourage you not to give up because you'll want to know you did everything you possibly could with no regrets. You're stronger than you think. Hope your visit to the clinic went well on Monday and sending you a huge hug

@Carol1980 wishing you all the best for the rest of your tww. Hope the extra vitamins and no symptom spotting does the trick! Sorry to hear the vaccine is having some nasty side effects, seems to be some are just a bit more unlucky with it. Which one did you get?

@MrsKin90 I feel for you so much, what a terrible month you've had! What did the doctor say about ovulation and can they do anything to help? Not meaning to sound ignorant, just not sure if your cycles are a bit longer usually or this just happens to be a weird one. I'm so sorry you have the added stress of weight loss before getting on the list, it doesn't seem fair at all. I'm wishing you all the best with it. For me in the past I have always found the best strategy with exercise is little and often. A brisk walk everyday helped the weight come off quickly and stay off, as well as feeling very manageable. You can do this!!

Hope everyone is ok 💙 I have a feeling some others are nearing the end of their tww? 🤞

xx

Carol1980 · 19/05/2021 22:57

Hi ladies

2ww is almost at an end for me.

Don't know if it's vaccine related but my right hip has been really sore for a few days now. My arm is fine though which is good.

Took an IC and I think it's a faint line....don't want to get my hopes up though. I will feel so much better is it gets darker.

I'm now cd25 ! Which is later than my previous 3 months or so of starting AF at cd23. Wondering if the vitimins and progesterone cream is actually having an effect now !
My cycles used to be around about 25/27 and according to OVIA I should be testing today. I'll post a pic of the 'faint line' test.

Like I said I'm realistic that it's probably just Low level hcg that I have in my system just before I get my AF but who knows !!! Might be the reason I get faint line positives a few days before AF.

I would be over the moon if this is my month but I seriously don't want to get my hopes up in case of disappointment.
I think I got some brown spotting the other day but it was literally just a bit of egg white cm with a little beige in it and it was just one 'wipe'.

I have a clear blue early test which I might take in the morning.
Wish me luck !!!!!!!!

Carol1980 · 19/05/2021 23:00

@suzy124 I got the AstraZeneca vaccine, because I'm 40 I think. 🤷‍♀️

Oh and forgot to mention that I'm 12dpo today so would my line it be darker than that below ? 🤷‍♀️

Janefx40 · 20/05/2021 07:07

Hi @Carol1980 oooooooo tentative congratulations on that line. That is a positive test (and there's no reason to ever have Hcg in your system other than pregnancy and IVF).

In terms of darkness I think we should wait and see. You are still quite early.

Let us know how you get on. Best of luck xxx

birdbybird · 20/05/2021 10:42

A tentative congratulation @Carol1980.
Any tips/anything you did differently this month?
I’m 9DPO.
I’ve got Covid jab booked tomorrow.
Planning to test with a FRER tomorrow. I am tempted to test today but from what I’ve read on forums it might be too early and waste of a test.

Carol1980 · 20/05/2021 13:16

Hey ladies x

I started taking ubiquinol this time round as well as my usual concieve plus vitimins and using my progesterone cream.

I'm honestly not convinced that I'm actually positive yet. I took a clear blue digital early detection this morning and it came up as not pregnant, so I'm wondering if it's another chemical or that implantation hasn't completed or something else. I think I'm finding it hard to not to be over cautious or excited due to being in this exact position a number of times now.
I have no symptoms at all. No sore boobs ( which is a bit weird as before af I've been getting sore boobs) but honestly apart from a sore hip joint I've got nada !!

Obviously I'm a bit of a weirdo and took apart the clear blue test and despite the negative result the line was actually quite dark on it. 🤷‍♀️

I wish I could be excited but I'm a plan for the worst and hope for the best kinda person. I've noticed that I don't have a lot of CM and any that I do have has a very very light beige colour to it ( hence why I think AF might be on its way)

Thank you for the lovely well wishes though x

The SI Undergraduates: Syringes, Yoghurt Pots and Legs in the Air part 4
Janefx40 · 20/05/2021 16:56

Hi @Carol1980 sorry you've not had a clear result. I agree the inside of the test looks positive - I've never opened a digital one so not sure what I would find!

Agonising to not know. Sending you love x

Carol1980 · 20/05/2021 21:08

@Janefx40
Thanks lovely lady x

It's a total minefield !
Top it off with the fact my daughter now has a high temp, cue the usual order covid test ( I have lateral flow ones and I tested her, it was negative) however her nursery won't accept negative lateral flow tests 🤷‍♀️ so I've had to order a home test from nhs. So stuck in the house for a few days now while we wait for the test and then the result of it 😬

Janefx40 · 21/05/2021 07:10

@Carol1980 oh no! Is she ok? Can you not go to test centre? Could be quicker? It's such a pain with kids temperatures. We've been lucky in that DD never gets a temp so we've not had to test despite non stop colds whereas our neighbours kids get a temp at the drop of a hat and are testing all the time. It's ridiculous actually because my parents both had Covid and were quite unwell but neither of them had a temperature or continuous cough or lost their taste so neither of them would have been eligible for a test if we'd been faithful to the criteria!

Anyway hope you don't go too crazy stuck at home and wondering about those two little lines at the same time x

Carol1980 · 21/05/2021 08:26

@Janefx40
We've had to do this once before and I found with a test centre that you ended up waiting 3 days for results. A friend of mine did the at home test and got the result ls the next day. 🤞

Took an IC this morning ( only have them in the house just now but got some frer on route today) IC still has a line, not any darker though, and that was with FMU.
Due to the fact that I'm getting lines im continuing with the progesterone for just now. If I wasn't getting lines today would have been the last day this cycle for the progesterone.

I hate the waiting game.

I was reading some stuff last night and you know when you google what dpo you are and what other folk's tests look like etc and i honestly despair at some of the horrible comments people leave on posts where someone is asking advice on tests etc.....there's a definite line between people who get pregnant at the drop of a hat and just tell other women to stop being stupid and just wait until AF shows up as opposed to testing, it's truly horrible what some folk say.....when you've been trying as long as the majority of ladies on here with the added stress of SI etc it makes me just want to tell them all to feck off !!

birdbybird · 21/05/2021 09:08

Morning, it was a BFN for me at 10dpo on the frer. It says 96% of women get a positive by this stage so don’t think this is the month for me.

Bundaberg84 · 21/05/2021 09:26

@birdbybird that can't be true, as implantation can happen as late as 12dpo. Look here, it says roughly 2/3 will get a positive, and the vast majority of them a faint or even very faint one:
www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/dpo-chart.php?dpo=10

birdbybird · 21/05/2021 09:58

Ah ok thanks @Bundaberg84.
That gives me a bit more hope.
I read the 96% on the Frer packaging.
Am Expecting AF Tuesday or Wednesday.

Bundaberg84 · 21/05/2021 10:10

@birdbybird I hate those packaging promises. I just looked at it online. So it says they tested samples from pregnant women giving a positive result. So the sample size is not all pregnant women, but all pregnant women that already tested positive.
So not 99% of all pregnant women will get a positive, but over 99% of all women who tested positive will test positive with FRER. That's so misleading!

birdbybird · 21/05/2021 19:50

Thanks @Bundaberg84.
I’ll wait till 13 or 14 dpo before I test again.
Feeling a bit deflated.
