I hope this name is okay. It's late and nobody is volunteering so it'll have to do 😂

Starting yet another thread on self insemination before our other one kicks us out!

Welcome to THE most supportive group you could wish for if you’re starting or you are already on a self insemination journey.
Remember, nothing is TMI and you are not alone. 💖

@birdbybird ah yes 10dpo is early. It's possible to get a positive but loads of women wouldn't. Best of luck. Those last few days are so tough

@Carol1980 hope the Covid tests come through for you quickly. Also hope the pregnancy tests give you more clarify.

The people that annoy me the most of those line threads are the ones who say "wait a couple more days and test again" It's such a bloody pointless thing to say...of course the person knows she can wait and test. She's trying to find an answer now !!! I love those threads. I just like looking at a positive test - rare in our house!

Xxx

Carol1980 · 22/05/2021 14:27

Hi ladies x

@birdbybird I got a squinter of a shadow at 10dpo to the point where it probably wasn't anything x
I know folk will say ' test in a few days' but I've pretty much been going mental with testing up to 2 times a day since I was about 10dpo ! So honestly do whatever you want love ❤️
It's hard to not test and I know this all too well x

I'm officially late today for my AF. The past few months I've been cd23 like I said but my usual cycle is about 26/27 and I'm cd28 today.

I've bought more frer which arrive today and below is a pic of this mornings frer.
Think I might have ordered the rapid results one as opposed to early detection, no point in ordering the early ones since I'm actually late.

I'm still not totally relaxed yet. The last time this happened with me getting this far past my AF I got to 19dpo before I had a MC and that was in August last year ! Doesn't seem that long ago....so I'm hoping that I get past that stage. But to be honest I know myself that I won't fully relax until I get a scan done, which if all goes well I will book for the 6/7 week mark when a heartbeat should register.

Ladies I'm a bag of nerves.......

The SI Undergraduates: Syringes, Yoghurt Pots and Legs in the Air part 4
birdbybird · 22/05/2021 14:34

@Carol1980 I don't blame you for being nervous, but you've gotten past the roll of the dice / lottery bit. So keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I would test but the disappointment of a BFN will be greater than the joy from a BFP. Particularly as it was such a start negative on a frer. I'm now planning to distract myself until AF either shows or is late.

birdbybird · 22/05/2021 14:38

The FRERs at my local pharmacy were buy one get one half price. The optimist in me decided against it but maybe I jinxed myself.

I'm quite a conservative tester. So testing on a frer at 10 dpo is unsual for me!

Carol1980 · 22/05/2021 14:53

@birdbybird Amazon is my best mate when it comes to pregnancy tests x

I generally like to know as soon as simply so I can pick myself back up and get on to the next cycle. It's hard going this whole ttc.
For a while there I was nervous about having to tell my work that I might be pregnant when it happens, but I honestly don't even care. I'm doing a role just now outwith my usual, which is why I was thinking that shit what happens if I get pregnant as I don't think I'm allowed to do it while pregnant. But again I don't even care now. I just want to keep this pregnancy so bad ❤️

Part of me also has doubt that I'm this lucky in my life just now for it to finally happen after trying for so long.

Have a jinxed it ? I hope not. I don't usually believe in fate or anything like that but it's weird how your brain starts to trick you when it's something you've wanted for so long x

Janefx40 · 22/05/2021 21:56

@Carol1980 ooooo have everything crossed for you. That is a clear line. I really hope it sticks for you. Btw I also accidentally bought the First Response Rapid Results rather than the Early ones recently. Maybe it's how they are marketing them.

@birdbybird best of luck. It can be really hard not to test but I know what you mean about not wanting to see a BFN. I have often felt the same. Then suddenly I get an urge to test - you'll know when you feel ready whether than is sooner or later xxx

birdbybird · 23/05/2021 12:38

Thanks @Janefx40 and @Carol1980.

Any news today?

I’m still feeling down today. Am waiting for AF to cheer me up as I usually have a low mood around now.
12dpo and Going to avoid testing for now. Because of the stark negative 2 days ago and because of the lack of any symptoms.

Carol1980 · 23/05/2021 12:48

@birdbybird
Don't lose hope x it can be stark white one day and not the next

I'm still getting positives and other than peeing all the time and my boobs being a tiny bit sore when pressed I've got zero symptoms.
I'm 16dpo today if my dates are right.

I'm in the frame of mind that I just need to wait and see what happens.

I'm confused about something though, why is it that first response don't actually tell you what sensitivity they are. I've read conflicting things online like that the early testing one measures like 6.5mlU or 10mlU and that the rapid response one is something silly like 100mlU ????

Carol1980 · 23/05/2021 12:49

@birdbybird forgot to say that implantation can take place as late as 12dpo.....and it's only after implantation that hcg is produced

primrosechill · 23/05/2021 15:51

Hi ladies, it's been a while and I just wanted to say hello - I check in on this thread regularly and think about all of you often while keeping my fingers crossed for many bfp's!

@Carol1980 very preliminary congratulations to you ❤️ let us know how the testing goes in the next few days - if you do any more. Whenever you're ready, we will wait for you on the "graduate" thread, too. @birdbybird keeping fingers crossed that this is your cycle, too.

@Janefx40 sending you a lot of strength and optimism for the next round of ivf - you're a trooper. @Oilyoilyoilgob I'm chuffed to hear your initial tests went well and that you're on the right path to ivf, too. @MrsKin90 so sorry to hear that eggs never showed up in your last cycle - that's so frustating.

I'm 6+6 today and other than sore(ish) boobs and tiredness (I'm ready to sleep every day at 7pm), I still don't entirely believe I'm pregnant - the first few weeks are a horrible, anxiety-filled drag. I lost my first pregnancy at 6 weeks so I'm further along but still scared. Thinking of you and wishin you all the best luck ❤️

Carol1980 · 23/05/2021 16:07

@primrosechill thanks love x

I had some weeks indicators arrive and did a test with some FMU that I kept in a tub ( how freaking disgusting does that sound but I'm despite and I will apologise for nothing !!)

Got a 1-2 weeks on it so I'm elated about that x

Google is not my friend though, most folk saying they got 2-3 weeks on it at 16dpo. At a push I'm 15 dpo but absolutely no way am I 14dpo. I had crazy ovulation pain this month ( left side which weirdly I haven't ovulated from for about 2/3 months)

Have you tested on the clear blue weeks one ?

primrosechill · 23/05/2021 17:25

@Carol1980 I dont remember when I got my 2-3 (I thought I took a photo but annoyingly I think that's the one I missed), but I got my 3+ at 25dpo, which by that "google standard" feels late. I wasn't worried because average hcg levels really vary per woman. I knew from the blood test what mine were at 15dpo (125), so I just did the math of when they should reach CB's threshold of 3+ (if you google it, it will tell you the hcg brackets for wach of the CB results) based on the fact that they double every two days, and by my estimation it should have been around 10 days later - so when the test showed 3+, I was assured my body is doing the right thing for now. You might just be the person who sits on the lower end of the hcg averages, that's all!

Carol1980 · 23/05/2021 17:33

Thanks for that.

I think I'm just a worrier. I'll be happier once I'm past the 12 week mark 🤣🤣 which is an age away !! But if my dating is right on Ovia then I'm 4+2 today. I put in the exact date of ovulation ( when I got the pain) so I'm only 2 days over from the 1-2 week threshold. 🤷‍♀️

I am trying my best to keep my mind off of it all.
Thankfully my daughters covid test came back negative as well so that's a weight off, she's just got a stinker of a cold !!

Hate the fact that when a child gets a high temp, even if it's for half a day, that you have to get them tested !!

primrosechill · 23/05/2021 17:44

I totally get that, @Carol1980. I will be seven weeks tomorrow but I wish I could fast forward at least 1-2 weeks from now when the mc rates really start looking less scary...

I have my first scan on weds (private through my ivf clinic) so that's my next milestone. Glad to hear your daughter is okay and wishing you lots of patience for the next few weeks! X

Carol1980 · 23/05/2021 18:18

I'm totally booking a viability scan if I get past 6 weeks, we did it with our daughter and it honestly put my mind at ease. We also did a scan at 8 week if I remember correctly so probably do that this time round too 🤞🤞🤞🤞

birdbybird · 23/05/2021 19:31

@Carol1980 can I ask did you DTD this cycle or purely SI?
I only did SI this cycle and no DTD.

Carol1980 · 23/05/2021 19:38

@birdbybird
On the first day of my fertile window we DTD but the rest of the fertile window was SI only. We actually had day 3 off but did SI for the last 3 days of the fertile window.
So to be honest I would imagine that it was probably the SI, as I doubt the swimmers from the first day were still about as it was 5 days later than I ovulated x

Janefx40 · 23/05/2021 22:40

@Carol1980 great news that your weeks indicator said 1-2. It shows profession. We always want more reassurance but it is a good start.

@primrosechill lovely to hear from you. Sorry you are anxious but it is only natural. Those early weeks of pregnancy are so scary. Not long now to that scan.

With my DD I had scans at weeks 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 16 and 20 and then every 4 weeks!!! I needed so much reassurance.

Janefx40 · 23/05/2021 22:41

Progression not profession x

Carol1980 · 24/05/2021 05:36

Morning ladies x

So took the other weeks progression with FMU this morning and it's came up 'not pregnant' so I'm guessing it wasn't a viable pregnancy 😢 gutted about it but at least I know x
I checked back on my pregnant with my daughter and we had gotten 2-3 weeks by 15dpo the last time so part of me had resigned myself to the fact that my levels didn't seem to be rising x

Thank you for all your kind wishes though it's really been lovely x

Janefx40 · 24/05/2021 07:59

@Carol1980 I'm so sorry to hear that 😢. We were all really hoping this one would work out for you. Totally understandable that you are feeling sad. Hope you'll get the opportunity to be extra nice to yourself today. Lots of love xxx

primrosechill · 24/05/2021 09:49

I'm sorry to hear that, @Carol1980 :(

birdbybird · 24/05/2021 10:09

I’m sorry @Carol1980 Sad

Carol1980 · 24/05/2021 16:35

Thanks ladies x being at work has kept my mind off of it x

Carol1980 · 26/05/2021 14:26

So made it it cd31 before AF showed up.

I'm feeling ok to be honest, I wouldn't say I'm used to the crushing disappointment now but it's been a day or so and I'm just thinking ahead x

Hope you are all well x
