@MgW1 I've been referred to gynaecology for fertility checks and possibly clomid (as I'm
Not eligible for ivf) but I called yesterday to book in with my letter as I was told and they said the wait time is approximately 33 weeks so I'll get an appointment through before then and it'll probably be a phone call for first app x

Kitekat81 · 01/04/2021 19:23

@TTCat39 ahh that's good you've got that all sorted then!

Welcome back @MgW1!

Misty84 · 01/04/2021 19:36

@Marvellouslymadmum Go private if you can because that is an insanely long wait time!!

sickofthisyear · 01/04/2021 19:36
@lemonade83 Thank you! I think I’m finally understanding these flippin’ sticks.

So after yesterday’s very early flashing smiley I got a static TODAY. So I’m ovulating (or about to) on CD 10!! Last month was same pattern of 1 day of flashing and following day of static, but was flashing on CD 12 and static on CD 13.

I have Qs for the Mumsnet Hivemind:

1- this feels v early for ovulation. Is it still within the realms of normal.

2- is different days of ovulation normal?

This probably puts me out for this month as last dtd on Saturday before I headed off for work this week. So broadly within 5 days of tadpole lifespan. Seeing him from tonight, so obvs will jump him (as is the norm when we’ve been apart anyway tbh!), but might miss the egg window. Frustrating but not much I can do about it now. C’est la vie! 🙄🤣
If you can I would go for it tomorrow also- static smiley indicates rise in LH which precedes ovulation by at least 24 hrs. So egg prob not there yet. And then the egg is viable for 12-24hrs also.
Worth a try- daytime maybe? 😁

MgW1 · 01/04/2021 19:53

@Marvellouslymadmum
Oh crikey that thats a long time 😔
I looked in to Nuffield privately. Its about £200 for consultation and then £140 per test however your G.P can refer you for the abdominal and internal scan , mine did and all was fine and your doc can check thyroid. Is your husband on vitamins ? Iv just ordered my husband maca root from amazon .... it should help 🤞🏻x

MgW1 · 01/04/2021 19:55

@sickofthisyear
I had 2 peaks 5 days apart on the clear blue digital so make sure you keep testing. I went from nothing to static over night both times!! I had an internal scan a few weeks ago and they confirmed id ovulated x

MgW1 · 01/04/2021 20:04

@Geriatric1234
Message above was for you, i tagged the wrong person sorry 🙃
@Kitekat81
Hey , hope your doing well x

Twelvestars · 01/04/2021 21:03

Tomorrow AF arrives. I have a bit of bloating and mild cramping typical of periods. But my mind’s trying to hold out hope that this could be an upset stomach or implantation or something. Anything but the dreaded AF! 😂

Twelvestars · 01/04/2021 21:11

@MgW1 good luck! 9 weeks away so that’s not bad. Have you had recurrent miscarriages in the past? How long have you been ttc?

@Marvellouslymadmum I can imagine how it must feel... sending you hugs x

@Geriatric1234 indeed the female body is so complex and full of surprises. I have always had 28 day cycles then went down to 25 then I had 2 months of 22 and now back to 26 days (if AF arrives tomorrow). In a way we are somewhat in control of our cycles what with stress or eliminating it and vitamins and healthy lifestyle and all that jazz. Since I started ttc and properly tracking my cycles, I’ve experienced first hand how much I could do to impact my cycles favorably or not.

Misty84 · 01/04/2021 21:13

@Twelvestars that’s how I am every time AF is about to arrive, still hanging on to hope!🤪

Twelvestars · 01/04/2021 21:15

@Misty84 right 😂😂😂 every time I go to the toilet, I’m just praying that the tissue comes out clear hahahaha

No worries- thought it wasn't for me!
But I was going to say anyway- usually you can't keep testing on CB once you see peak, the display is fixed for 48 hrs.
If you use the same holder later in the same cycle it will give confusing readings- it's not designed to be used that way. If you want to keep testing past first peak I would say use cheapie strips.

3DPO here.... symptom spotting getting going! 🙈

Marvellouslymadmum · 01/04/2021 22:01

@Misty84 I'm looking into prices and clinics this weekend I think

@MgW1 that's what I've been referred for, the afc and amh but I'm going to talk to the gp next week anyway and ask them to check my thyroid and anything else they can possibly do from there because of my age a 33 week wait is crazy! Also going to check on his sa referral as nothing has come through for that yet. Yes he's on well man conception, b complex, c, d, e, magnesium ubiquinol and maca root lol

Thank you @Twelvestars I just feel a bit defeated if I'm honest! Also feeling very bloated and tender abdomen like af is on the way but I'm only 6dpo - thanks body!

MgW1 · 01/04/2021 22:14

@sickofthisyear
Yes you are right , it was peak for 2 days , then blank for 3 and then peaked again.... it didnt lead to anything !! 😤

MgW1 · 01/04/2021 22:17

@Twelvestars
I have had 3 mc's , its taken its toll , glad I have been referred on now so see what happens. I have children age 7&5 and bot had a problem until this time round but we are older so I am thinking its more likely bad luck tbh. X

Twelvestars · 01/04/2021 23:15

@MgW1 I can only begin to imagine the physical and emotional toll. x

02Carol · 01/04/2021 23:32

@Marvellouslymadmum

It's good your moving forward with tests, but 33 weeks, that is such a long wait, does anyone know if this is a standard time frame with fertility tests or just worse due to the pandemic?

I can see why you'd want to go private to get quicker results.

Marvellouslymadmum · 01/04/2021 23:58

@02Carol I had a quick google 🙄 and it said that nhs standards mean that no one should be waiting for anything for more than 18 weeks. I know they can't always stick to this but just feel like that's almost double which is mental, I assume the pandemic hasn't helped and all I can hope is that it actually turns out to be a lot sooner so at least if I pay for the tests and there's something that needs to be checked again I can get it done then

Misty84 · 02/04/2021 06:42

@02Carol I’m on a 6 month wait for my next investigative test (the laparoscopy), the NHS explained there’s a big backlog due to Covid.

As they’ve told me I don’t qualify for funded IVF due to my low AMH I am having to go private. To be honest, with these wait times I would have had to do that anyway because god knows how long I would have had to wait for IVF from them.

Twelvestars · 02/04/2021 07:39

@Marvellouslymadmum even 18 weeks is ridiculously long - whatever age you were!

Twelvestars · 02/04/2021 07:41

@Misty84 absolutely! NHS wait times are unreasonable!!! Will you also get the laparoscopy done privately?

Misty84 · 02/04/2021 08:12

Probably not @Twelvestars because I will have already moved forward with a private clinic by then!
I’ve never complained about the NHS before but sadly the system is really failing people when it comes to fertility. And of course Covid has made that even worse!

Kitekat81 · 02/04/2021 08:28

@Misty84 what would the laparoscopy be for? Should I have been referred for that? 🤔

Twelvestars · 02/04/2021 08:34

@Misty84 I love the NHS, not to forget the covid pandemic as you said, but it needs revamping and upgrading in such an ever fast moving world.

Misty84 · 02/04/2021 08:36

@Kitekat81 They said it was to examine the abdomen and pelvis. It’s keyhole surgery, an actual operation, so I wasn’t thrilled about it!! I would have preferred the HyCoSy just to look at tubes! But a year after being referred I’m still at this stage of endless waiting so I will see what the Lister’s investigative tests for me are and go with that!
