Ok so we need to get back to us ladies, back to fun games, POAS & getting fit, but you need to help me Cos Minster is flagging with a fuck boy body worse than the rest 🥺

Guess what...it’s nearly Easter & know what that means! 🐰🐣...We don’t want the 🐰to have the fun but bloody hell sometimes it’s a f*cling egg hunt all right 🙈🤣.

March and April we’ve got a lot of exciting times ahead with people going for Clomid & IVF as well as a lot of straight up sex for the “normal” TTC gang so let’s get shagging & FIND THOSE 🐣🌈.

We are still working on our spring challenges alongside trying to get pregnant and we’ve had great results so far- feel free to have a catch up on those and add your own.

And we are still helping each other get fitter, more positive through sharing small changes we are making in our lives and trying to inspire & support each other with these too...as well as of course being there for each other during the sad times.

And if you see mention of my blog then blame these guys they made me do it...#shamelessplug

@2020mission I think there's still a fair few of us here ttc? But yeah I know what you mean! Still bloody waiting. 🤣
@Minster2012 I've my HSG on Thursday. So I'll know more after that. Theoretically they said we should be able to start IUI next cycle. But I'm not holding my breath!

Lililou · 23/03/2021 12:55

Good strong line @Sausage1990 congrats 🥳 🥳🥳

TTCAbroad · 23/03/2021 12:55

@Haiyaa I'm definitely choosing to go early - after a MMC in October I want to confirm that there is something there!

Maternity care in Japan is interesting. In general there is excellent health care for when you're ill (I got a non-urgent MRI in a week and a half for £50 after mentioning to a doctor that I had some recurrent headaches) BUT maternity is not considered an 'illness' and is therefore not covered by health insurance! Instead you get a c. £4,000 payout after the baby is born to cover expenses. You also get coupons to help cover the cost of visits. You get to choose what hospital you want to go to but some fill up really quickly - as in you have to register before 8wks. Fortunately, I don't have to worry about that because I'm registering with one of the English speaking obstetricians in Tokyo who get special access to some of the hospitals. I would go to a normal hospital but I imagine what little Japanese I speak wouldn't see me through medical appointments and labour!

All in all you get a ton of appointments and scans (I think they scan you at every appointment) AND after you give birth its standard to stay in the hospitals for 5-7 days so the medical staff can help you while you recover.

Other interesting tidbits:

  • you're really discouraged from gaining weight. I'm 5'4 and a health BMI in England but overweight in japan. If I went to a Japanese trained doctor I would likely be told I should gain 15lbs max. Thankfully my OB is much more relaxed 😬
  • c. 80% of births are unmedicated. Epidurals are an extra £1,000-£2,000 and often have to be scheduled. If you're outside Monday TO Friday 9-5 it's either tough luck or you pay more.
  • Becuase you have to register your due date a lot of hospitals are big on induction so things happen on schedule
  • Mothers, in general, are encouraged not to gain a lot of weight so the babies are small. This might have to do with the fact that a lot of women give birth a midwife centers with less access to immediate emergency care. Smaller babies = safer birth (maybe). But the midwife centres sound amazing. I wish I spoke enough Japanese to go to one.

Sorry for the essay. I found it really interesting learning about how things are done here!

TTCAbroad · 23/03/2021 12:56

Omg that was long 😳

larrythelizard · 23/03/2021 12:58

@Haiyaa it's all getting quite expensive so no acupuncture this month! Hoping this is not a fluke and I'm back at a 30 day cycle with a double digit luteal phase!

@2alreadywantanother that's so natural, I still think about my MMC and that due date even though it's 2.5 years ago! If you're going GP route for tests I'd start the ball rolling now?

larrythelizard · 23/03/2021 13:02

@TTCAbroad my dad has just been in hospital in Japan - I think a state hospital but a private room etc and found the the lack of English difficult, as he did being forced to stay in for 5 days after a relatively minor op! Excellent standard of care though!

Crazydoglady123 · 23/03/2021 13:03

Sending hugs @2alreadywantanother

@Minster2012 I love a cornichin 🤤 Date wise, my clinic has said based on how I respond, EC 26th April, ET 1st May.

@TTCAbroad wowsers! Who'd have thought it'd be so different 😳

TTCAbroad · 23/03/2021 13:05

@larrythelizard Hope your dad is doing OK now! Did he share his thoughts on the food - I've heard it's pretty amazing!

Hopeful110 · 23/03/2021 13:06

@blackcurrantqueen yeah I think maybe Thursday we can go for a bike ride together, or il help him clean his motorbikes and then make his favourite dinner and we can have a 'romantic night, il dress up and try spice things up a little, remind us that we can be fun again :)

@Katao yeah so my chart picked up O on 7th but @Juno231 helped me out and we thought actually O may not have been til the 9th, so I'm either 14dpo or 16dpo...either way my luteal phase is 13 days so I'm passed that on either date. Im cleaning and I can smell the pollen from my flowers! And when I bend down I keep feeling like I'm going be sick... probably mind over matter though. I'm defo not gonna test til Thursday though! I dunno if I can face another 'is it isnt it there line' lol. Can't believe its nearly end of March already! Xxx

2alreadywantanother · 23/03/2021 13:09

@larrythelizard no I'm goning to self refer. I'm 40 and can only imagine what the waiting lists are like going public. The consultation is only €150 more if we have SA done. Then they give you options to see if you want to go further

Kirky658 · 23/03/2021 13:13

@ttcabroad that is really fascinating stuff! Cool!

@minster2012 that looks amazing, love a little dick sandwich 😂 I may actually make myself the same for lunch hahahaha

Katao · 23/03/2021 13:27

@TTCAbroad long but interesting!

@Hopeful110 that doessound promising

Hopeful110 · 23/03/2021 13:33

@Katao yeah I hope so! 🤞 not holding my breath though lol probably my mind playing tricks on me now haha!

@Minster2012 just saw your update and you can go ahead with IVF sooner! Wahooo! Thats great news! And on the toasties...well....I mean...they are little sausages 😉🤣 haha

Florence13 · 23/03/2021 13:37

@TTCAbroad thanks so much for sharing about maternity in Japan it is so interesting to hear how it works in other countries.

@Minster2012 loving you sandwich with a bit of dick 😂

Juno231 · 23/03/2021 13:38

@katao yeah it's like what's the point! It's not gonna work anyway lol.

@Florence13 hahaha you say this but I'm timing DTD every other day so that OH doesn't have to do it on his birthday seeing as he's usually not a fan!

@2alreadywantanother can't believe you're already coming round to your would be due date. That must be so tough so please be kind to yourself.

Hopeful110 · 23/03/2021 13:44

My lunch looks like a right mess 🤣🤣 tell me that tomato ketchup sandwiches are normal? Anyone? 🤣🤣🤣

@2alreadywantanother please be kind to yourself and give yourself whatever you need to get through the next few weeks 😘 xx

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/03/2021 13:59

@Katao hmm unlikely. I have so much against me, I need to be realistic to preserve my mental health. When's he getting his SA?
@Minster2012 banging lunch, no controversy there!!
@Hopeful110 I couldn't have a ketchup only sandwich, I'd need some bacon in mine 😋

2alreadywantanother · 23/03/2021 14:03

Thanks ladies. So far I'm good just wont have any control on my emotions at the time so who knows what I'll be like. A blubbering mess no doubt. My friends due date is next wk. Met with her today and she seems ok. Suppose it's nice having the support of each other as we both understand what we are feeling.

Hopeful110 · 23/03/2021 14:05

@notyetamumbuttrying ahhh I used to have these when I was a kid haha! Bacons alright, but I only like it with a fry up haha! The aim of this game is to not let any ketchup drip from the sandwich 🤣

Katao · 23/03/2021 14:23

@Juno231 we are defeated women 🙈
@notyetamumbuttrying at the weekend so have a couple of days before abstaining hits in. Not tracking though and irregular so hit and miss if we will get ovulation. Finding it hard to care too much at the moment! Just dtd when we can and what will be will be. Same as you, need to protect my mental health at this stage, can't obsess.

@Hopeful110 no. Just no. Can't support that sandwich choice. It's even boring white bread, the whole thing is just lacking 😂

larrythelizard · 23/03/2021 14:25

Yeah he's got the all clear now which is great. Apparently rice at every meal @TTCAbroad!

Good plan then @2alreadywantanother - I've also self referred but because I want progesterone testing it has to be on day 21(ish) so waited all of March for it only to end up in hospital and have to reschedule for next month! So annoying!

🤞🏼 for Thursday @Hopeful110 - I agree it does sound promising but I convinced myself I was pregnant last night and obviously all the symptoms I was SURE I had have disappeared with AF arriving today!

Hopeful110 · 23/03/2021 14:25

@Katao Hahaha!! Yeah OH says it's gross too 🤣 but it is my guilty pleasure haha! Xx

Hopeful110 · 23/03/2021 14:28

@larrythelizard ahh that's why it's all so confusing lol mind you this limbo game is getting lame too! What symptoms were you having? If I don't get a bfp thurs I'd just rather AF hurry up! Surely she should be here soon if I didn't have a sticky bean :( xx

2alreadywantanother · 23/03/2021 14:32

@larrythelizard I'd like follicle tracking and progesterone tested. To see what's happening. I just think it's crazy I fell pregnant so easily at the start and now this. I'd have accepted thos happening without getting pregnant but because I did get pregnant I want it more now
