One step pregnancy tests

Can anyone give me their opinion on the one step pregnancy tests?

I bought them from eBay but wondering if they’re any good

I used them for last pregnancy and this pregnancy and good enough for how cheap they are , they do take a while to get a dark line but give enough of line for me to decide it was worth trying a first response.

They are advertised as early detection but I didnt get a strong line on one until my period was due. Just verrrrrr squinty ones.

But for the price, and if you dont mind squinting they are okay.

Always worked for me. Lines can be faint but I always found a faint line was still a positive for me (confirmed by more expensive brands).

Worked great for me, accurate and always detected early (9-10dpo). Did come up faint at first but this was probably because I tested too early but I liked that I could see there was a line and it got darker when I tested a few days later.

That was my plan, use them to see if worth buying a more expensive one or not. Thank you for the replies.

Those who have used them, did anyone use them not with fmu? I know instructions say any time of day or are they better used with fmu?

I used them at all times of day with my pregnancies! I found fmu was as the same result as any time of day but only if during the day I tested when I hadn't drunk loads and also hadn't been for a wee for a while! Otherwise the tests were more faint.

FMU will almost always be the best as hcg is higher on a longer hold - overnight is usually the longest hold!

Like others I found they arent super sensitive but perfect for "if theres a faint line on this, I use a FRER"

Hi ladies. Jumping onto this thread if you don’t mind. I’ve been getting really faint positives for the last 3 days with One Step strip tests. I’ve attached a picture - what do you think? I’m approx 11 DPO.

How did you get on with the tests today? I did one this morning at 11 DPO with this result. Can definitely see something but it's not as pronounced as I'd have expected. Think it's just because they're cheap? Have ordered frers! 🙏

I've always liked them good for the poas addiction as cheap and never had lines when I wasn't pregnant (although I don't think they're as sensitive as they claim)
This lot I've got now are faulty has super clear PINK lines after 1/2 mins :( even my husband and tap got the same result

@Roo3125 those lines look promising. I think I see pink! 🤞

@firsttimemummy321 I agree - I tested one in water yesterday and got the same faint positive, maybe a bit lighter. I’m sure I have a dodgy batch (of 50!!!) as not getting positives on any other tests at 12 DPO.

I have tested again this morning and will post the result to see what you think.

@ChattyMum86 that looks promising! Definitely a stronger line. Have you tried any other tests? I did a CB which had something faint straight away then after a few hours a more pronounced line (which is likely an evap). Interestingly I’m getting really strong positives on OPKs today. I’ll post some pics.

When are you testing next? Is this your first? X

@Rosegold007 that is interesting! I have OPKs downstairs, might try one and see what comes up.
Haven't tried any other brand yet, think I'm scared to do it in case it's a BFN 🙈

This would be my third, my first two were conceived on first try but this time has been a lot more challenging xx

I’ve had some more shadows on One Steps and a faint positive / evap on Clear Blue but feeling like my period is on it’s way!

@Rosegold007 have used a few more one steps and completely negative. Have been so tired to the extent I had to come up to bed for a couple of hours. I really don't know what to think. Why did it pick up HCG this morning if it's not there?

I didn't have time to get any other brands but depending on what the one step shows in the morning I may pop out for a frer.

Are you having cramps?

@Rosegold007 completely stark white one step this morning. I can't believe how much yesterday's looked like a positive.
So disappointing 😢

@ChattyMum86 I’m so sorry to hear that. I think we must have a bad batch of One Steps as I’ve had the same. It’s absolutely shocking that they are allowed to sell them in this state. It causes so much angst and stress.

I have my classic PMS symptoms and am due on today. Just did another One Step as the slightest shadow again (which now means nothing).

When is your period due?

Don't think I trust these tests! Had a faint positive yesterday (1st pic) at 11DPO. Then today the line is still there but much fainter (2nd pic). Af not due for at least another 3 days. Will use a frer in 3 days time as they arrive today.

Got these free with my OPKs but definitely wouldn't order again!

@Rosegold007 my period isn't due for another week but I should be 11dpo today if OPKs are anything to go by.

It's just mentally exhausting, such a rollercoaster, I was so happy yesterday and now feel crappy today!

@Roo3125 I see the lines! I’ve had a few like that over the last week but no progression at all. I don’t trust them and would suggest trying another brand.
How many DPO are you?

It’s a torturous process. We have been trying for our first for a year now. I had an early miscarriage in September and nothing since.
