Hi everyone!
So I am 6 days late! Had bad af cramps like usual and a lot of extra cf for m 4 days at time of af due! But nothing happened. I have done some test thought could see something faint at start but not convinced now as can’t see anything. Very unlike me to be late!
With my first, I tested day before af was due and there was a strong clear line instantly but did have several hyperemisis untill the min she was born.
Could I be pregnant this time, with it being so different! Going a little crazy!
Thank you for your time x

@EagerToKnow funny you've heard that story. I just found this thread - it's old but the stories are insane! https://community.babycenter.com/400pregnant-but-no-hcgg14233005547.bc

I'm not one to google health stuff usually but I've given in with all this am I or am I not pregnant stuff and it seems there are some issues with some women not having high hormone levels. Just like your story...

gigchic · 11/03/2021 15:10

Also we live on a farm so I'll just get the guy who scans the sheep to come and do me! 😂😂😂😂

caz1319 · 11/03/2021 16:44

@gigchic haha that’s amazing!! I would getting him to do it every week! Must be nice living on a farm, we’re by the beach which is awful in this weather

EagerToKnow · 11/03/2021 17:35

Thank you @caz1319!

@gigchic Thats brilliant, hahah!

Its amazing how many ladies got so far along and still got negatives. Shame to see how many weren't believed by doctors and had to get private scans or wait until they were showing though

gigchic · 11/03/2021 19:23

@caz1319 we live in the farm cottage but don't work on the farm - my best mate married the farmer so we're just enjoying the bonus of being offered the cottage to live in! I've lived on the coast before and it's brutal in winds like today!

@EagerToKnow yeh I thought that was bonkers how many people were in that website stream!

caz1319 · 11/03/2021 20:13

@gigchic oh a cottage sounds lovely. Coast is lovely in summer just full of tourists here though!

It’s crazy how hard it is to have a baby! I don’t know how these people who have one night stands and fall pregnant do it. It took us a year and a half to fall with our first.

Cottage and coast both sound lovely! I live in London, enjoying there being no tourists and less people, I can wander around previously busy places with my dog and a coffee.

Are there any tips to speed conceiving up that worked for you? My family and most of my friends are in the camp you mention Caz - accidents, on the pill, first month of trying etc

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 11/03/2021 22:39

It’s seven months trying for me, including a miscarriage at 7weeks at the start of this. It’s a very frustrating process!!

caz1319 · 12/03/2021 00:48

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 the month it happened for us was the month we stopped trying and decided to just leave it a bit.
I know it’s hard to stress and worry about it but best thing is to just enjoy it, don’t overly track. Xx

EagerToKnow · 12/03/2021 01:53

Got a dull pain in my tummy tonight, not quite cramping but similar to period pains, and a bit of lower back ache so wondering if AF might be on the way. If so, I think you have a good suggestion there @caz1319 and I'll forget tracking for a bit and just enjoy the time with DP

I was ill for 5 months due to stress when I returned from maternity leave and even though AF had started up again a few months earlier, they stopped and I didn't have a single one until I quit my job. I didn't feel stressed in myself but was working in a high risk environment and it had an impact on my health so I do wonder if the stress of TTC might be partly to blame for so many of us having such late AF and symptoms similar to pregnancy. Stress can do strange things to your body!

gigchic · 12/03/2021 07:18

@EagerToKnow I think you might be right. Even if you'd class yourself as not stressed your body might think otherwise. I'm wondering if that's what happened to me too as I had a very short cycle last cycle and now a really long one. My spotting is a bit heavier but still not needing anything other than a panty liner so would class it as my period. After three weeks I'm so bored with symptom spotting and checking my pants every time I go to the loo!!!!

caz1319 · 12/03/2021 09:04

@EagerToKnow @gigchic .... stress can be such a big issue with ttc. It took over our life and we promised we wouldn’t let it happen again.

I realised yesterday that the moment my period started was the moment I got some good news that I was absolutely dreading and worrying about. I was obviously stressed and didn’t know how much.

@EagerToKnow sounds like quitting was the best thing you could have done for your

@gigchic ... spotting is so frustrating isn’t it. Just either stop or give me full period 😂

Caz I’m so happy you got some good new yesterday! If I read that correctly! Yes I think stress absolutely can. I’ve also seen that having had coronavirus can mess you cycles up Shock

I think I’ll relax this month about it, just take my supplements and soy and have plenty of sex.

Gigs I’ve not progressed on from brown spotting when wiping. Was excited yesterday, then nothing!

Gigs good luck for your results today 🤞

gigchic · 12/03/2021 09:30

I've just rung the doctors again as I'm feeling so rough this morning. Nausea, stomach cramps, dizzy, tired, headache. Blood results probably won't be here today receptionist said so doctor going to ring later this afternoon. Looks like I've got a weekend of feeling like this coming up! Jesus this is tough. I can't even bring myself to work at my desk. Think I'm going to sit on the sofa with a decaf tea and try and get some energy back!

EagerToKnow · 12/03/2021 09:50

@gigchic @caz1319 it is frustrating that you can be stressed without even knowing it. It was only when my doctor asked more about where I worked that he quickly came to the conclusion that it was stress from the job as he'd also worked there recently for a couple days and found it very stressful! After I quit, my symptoms disappeared almost overnight and AF started up again so I think I might have to take a similar approach with TTC and stop tracking etc. It must be so easy to get stressed without realising when you're constantly tracking days, worry about symptoms you may or may not have and counting down to the day you can take a test.

Such a shame that you might have to wait longer for your results @gigchic I hope you feel a bit better soon too!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I hadn't heard about covid messing with your cycles, I wonder if the vaccine does too. Come to think of it I did have weird cycles after getting covid last March but assumed it was because they'd just started again after changing jobs

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 12/03/2021 10:01

@EagerToKnow that sucks that you had such a stressful time with your job. Hope you've found one you love now (as much as we can love work....)

Apparently there have been increased reports of women's cycles messing up having had coronavirus www.everydayhealth.com/coronavirus/does-covid-19-wreak-havoc-with-the-menstrual-cycle/

@gigchic hope you feel better soon. Shame about the test results taking so long

EagerToKnow · 12/03/2021 10:27

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Unfortunately I've not had the best of luck with jobs, I've had 2 since leaving my old job and lost both due to covid so I decided to take a break from job searching and focus on looking after my toddler. DP can support us financially and I'm enjoying not having the pressure of job interviews as they seem to make me sick too nowadays despite never actually feeling stressed.

That article is quite an interesting read. When my cycles started up again after covid I was bleeding for 3 or 4 weeks at a time. Have any of you lovely ladies had weird cycles after getting covid?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 12/03/2021 10:48

@EagerToKnow jobs are tough right now. Hopefully it'll change and open up a bit in the coming months, but in the meantime it sounds like a good plan to take some time off to get your health fully back. Much better than rushing in and taking something that'll make you sick or you won't enjoy

I don't know that I've had Covid, although with 1 in 3 in my area having had it, I possibly have. This is the first weird cycle for me

caz1319 · 12/03/2021 11:01

@EagerToKnow if your near Bournemouth , I have jobs going 😂

I don’t know if I have had Covid but could make sense if I did have it and didn’t know and it’s caused a delay in my cycle. Very interesting read!
Is there anything else Covid is going to mess up 😂😂

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 12/03/2021 14:34

Sooo, I'm even more confused, because my period still isn't here. Had brown spotting while wiping yesterday (which I thought was period), slight brown today but less. I don't normally spot I don't think, this is just weird!

caz1319 · 12/03/2021 14:54

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 when did you last do a test?

OP posts:
A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 12/03/2021 15:03

Two days ago, 11 days late, frer negative

caz1319 · 12/03/2021 19:32

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 ... maybe leave a couple of days if still nothing give doc a ring . So frustrating isn’t it x

OP posts:
EagerToKnow · 12/03/2021 20:19

@caz1319 Not near Bournemouth I'm afraid but thank you! I'm enjoying a break from work and being able to get some decorating done at the moment and DP can support us on his wage so thankfully not in a rush to find work.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Thats definitely odd, sounds more like implantation spotting if it was brown. Sounds very frustrating, I hope you get some answers soon

gigchic · 12/03/2021 21:19

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 have you asked for a blood test? My doctor has been really good. Blood test today is negative and the spotting has turned into my period now but he did a full MOT and referred me for a scan to check the egg hasn't left a cyst behind that's causing the pain this week. He thinks I was probably in very early stages of pregnancy but effectively miscarried before I got a positive test. So hormones are all over the place and period is really weird. Also he said to buy buscopan for IBS as it's safe to use if pregnant and helps with the cramping better than paracetamol.
