Am I pregnant?!

I joined and started a thread yesterday as I was so confused about my cycle. Sorry if this post is confusing!!

My cycles have varied between 29 and 39 days over the last year and a half but they generally average at 33-35 days.

We started trying in January, and I came on my period on 6th Feb (28 day cycle so I was worried that it was early, negative pregnancy test)
So I started OPKs on 12th Feb (CD7) which were low until CD12. They were then high until CD25!

I then had my first peak reading.. and then had 4 days of peak! Today is CD29.
Took another test this morning.. still peak!

Out of frustration, I took a pregnancy test.. instantly and clearly positive.

I then took 4 more a few hours later.. all positive and clear blue says 2-3 weeks.

How is this possible?!
Im not sure! We did baby dance (is that what you call it on mumsnet too? 😂) 4 times between coming off my period and starting OPKs..

Could I of got pregnant straight after my period? Why would the tests then go high and peak?!
My period would usually be due around Wednesday next week..

Any ideas?!?
Xx

There are lots of topics on MN where being horrible to each other is the norm. But the ttc board isn't one of them.

@Fifi1086 some women right ?! thought we were all supportive of one another when we're all TTC!! I'd be asking the exact same questions if I was in OP's position!! X

Genevive123 · 06/03/2021 21:57

@thecognoscenti

People still sometimes cannot believe it when it happens?

Also what's wrong with "baby dance" 😂 loads of people use this term?!

thecognoscenti · 06/03/2021 21:57

@DropDTuning

Good luck op. For future reference, you get pregnant from having sex and a positive pregnancy test means you're pregnant. Hope it goes well for you.
Quite.

@Fifi1086 Im looking forward to not pissing into a cup for a while at least 👍🏻😂 thank you 😊 x

Why do a pregnancy test, then, if you're going to ask what it means?
'Baby dance' is one of the most twee and nauseating things I've ever heard.

thecognoscenti · 06/03/2021 22:00

A pregnancy test is literally binary. Yes/no. I don't understand the confusion?

Genevive123 · 06/03/2021 22:00

@thecognoscenti why nit pick? It's not your post, you're not posting the question so what's the issue 😂

Your opinion. Some people prefer the term "baby dancing" personal preference.

bitheby · 06/03/2021 22:01

I'd take the jump from low to high as your surge and then the dates would make sense to ovulate the following day or so but I guess you'll find out more when you have a dating scan.

Personally, I've been trying for 18 months with two early losses last year but I'm choosing to read these threads and imagine how I might feel if it ever happens for me. I don't think pouring personal bitterness over someone else helps them or me.

Good luck. Keep us updated when you know your dates.

Laurah273 · 06/03/2021 22:04

@thecognoscenti I'll agree with that.. never used the term in my life.. I had to Google what someone was even on about.. but seemed loads of people used it.. didn't know if sex was some banned word on here 🤷‍♀️

You sound more confused than I do?! You ok? 🤔

@bitheby ive had very early losses and MMC at 12 weeks too. It's hard and can be lonely so I know what you mean about reading threads!
Thank you, and good luck to you too hope it happens soon for you 💕

I had to double check that this hadn’t been posted on AIBU.

Congratulations OP! I took 20+ tests last January and February after conceiving DD2 (13th TTC cycle and one early miscarriage) so I can understand the disbelief.

Timetobeamummy · 07/03/2021 17:35

I thought I would come and say congratulations OP! Very strange thread when reading clearly it appears some people got lost on here instead of posting on the ‘I’m a twat’ thread they posted on the TTC forum.

Ignore those people can’t stand negative people raining on other peoples parade. Congrats hope the next 9 months go magically for you 🎉

Fizzybelts · 08/03/2021 09:38

@Laurah273
Congratulations. Out of interest did you say you had a normal period?
I had a period 10 days ago. Started doing my OPK and they went straight to positive on CD9. Also had cramping and small blood when i wiped on/off. The cramping is still slightly there today & again small amounts of blood only when I wipe. I also took another OPK which was peak again. I use the clear blues, tried on 2 day one and 4 day one. Then thought i would do a pregnancy test and both came back positive? No idea whats going on.

laura273 · 08/03/2021 15:00

@Timetobeamummy
Thank you 💕 I was pretty shocked tbh.. I wouldn't of posted to MN if I knew it was like that!
Luckily fewer negative people to positive 💕

laura273 · 08/03/2021 15:04

@Fizzybelts
I have fairly regular periods, usually between 33-35 days so I wouldn't say normal, more on the long cycle side but they have been like that for years so I suppose it's my normal!

My OPKs were low when I first started testing.. then stayed high for quite a while and then once they were peak they stayed peak, which I'm guessing the peaks were picking up the pregnancy not the ovulation. How I don't know. I've done more tests and I'm definitely pregnant.
But I won't know if I had a period during so got pregnant last month, or if I got pregnant without the OPKs picking up my ovulation.

I'm not sure.. because they're supposed to go high, then peak, then drop down and then you ovulate.. but mine were never low other than just after my period 🤷‍♀️ xx
