No way @AMS19 Only 7dpo! Along with zero symptoms so I'm confident I'm out this month anyway. No tests in the house Smile

AMS19 · 09/03/2021 17:12

@dippyegg32 I never got symptoms when I had my bfp! Well have everything crossed for you!

Mellous · 09/03/2021 17:32

I’m 7dpo and feel like I’m out too... really want to test but I know that’s silly this early

I'm 9dpo tomorrow and only thing I have is a sicky stomach and achy legs honestly think AF is going to arrive early 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

angc30 · 09/03/2021 17:57

Hey all! I know I'm ages behind everyone but I had a private appointment today and the doctor told us to wait a cycle. I knew it was coming it frustrating to hear 🙄 Never been excited for AF to arrive before lol

Is anyone prescribed anything? I've been prescribed to start folic acid and vit D now. He's prescribed after my next positive aspirin, cyclogest and clexane. Just wondering if anyone's on any of this and if it helped? x

AMS19 · 09/03/2021 18:00

@angc30 no I haven't seen anyone or been prescribed anything. Did he say why he was prescribing those things? Is this your first miscarriage?

angc30 · 09/03/2021 18:09

@AMS19 it's my 3rd or 4th in 12 months (the first was never confirmed). I've had bloods done and nothing is abnormal. He's said it's unexplained pregnancy loss. I knew it was coming from all my googling but just disheartening to hear that they don't know why it's happening. His exact words were it's time to try an aggressive approach and there's no harm in taking them

This is so crass but just ready to get back on the horse and try again 😂

AMS19 · 09/03/2021 18:13

@angc30 sorry you've probably said already, just so hard to keep up with everyone's journey. I'm so sorry that's so tough. Definitely good to give it a shot, you've got absolutely nothing to lose! How did you find the private doctor? I'm so tempted to go get tests done but I've only had one miscarriage so feel like I should wait for another one then go in all guns blazing...

SuzieDeLaTour · 09/03/2021 18:13

@dippyegg32 thanks for that link - I love seeing stuff like that! I’m definitely not going to cave and test early though, I want to try and hold out for as long as possible! 🤞
@angc30 ha ha we were all impatiently waiting for AF to arrive, madness how much we could actually want a period!! How come your consultant prescribed those? My consultant said not to bother with anything and to simply “make love”!! Part of me thinks I should try something (anything!) but another part of me thinks it probably wouldn’t make any difference given both my MMCs were chromosomal (and different issues) and there was nothing I could have done to change the outcome. Such a headf**k!

SuzieDeLaTour · 09/03/2021 18:15

So today I walked across a white straw on the pavement and my first thought was “ooh is that an OPK?” !!! I think I’ve frazzled my mind with the constant peeing on sticks 🤣🤣

dippyegg32 · 09/03/2021 18:18

@SuzieDeLaTour haha yes I can totally relate. My daughter was doing her statistics homework and I was looking at the graphs thinking ooo that's a fallback rise GrinGrin

AMS19 · 09/03/2021 18:20

@SuzieDeLaTour that properly made me laugh out loud!

angc30 · 09/03/2021 18:37

@AMS19 I hope it stays your only one!! Statistically, it most likely that is your only one 🤞🤞 I had some gynae issues even before trying so I'm just a medical mystery and it is just part of the journey. There aren't many to choose from here. I live in NI and we are really slow when it comes to women's health (and rights if we're getting political 🙄). I've read a lot about women heading over to England for treatment so I really hope that we don't have to

@SuzieDeLaTour I'm just gonna do period rain dances in the living room for myself! He said everything's worth a shot now and it won't do any harm. I'm all for trying anything! I swear this pregnancy was due to pineapple core and Brazil nuts. I really hope the prescriptions solve some mystery thing. I haven't had any of mine tested as they all came away naturally. I'd love to know if there was a chromosomal factor. I really hope your positive comes soon!

glowingtwig · 09/03/2021 18:57

@angc30 I'd be really interested to hear why the doctor prescribed those for you. I recently had my third miscarriage (second in a row) and the consultant at my local hospital prescribed aspirin and cyclogest when I next fell pregnant. However... Professor Regan, who I'm under at her private recurrent miscarriage clinic, isn't a believer in progesterone. (She doesn't think it does any harm, just that it doesn't change the outcome). I'm still waiting to hear about the results from the million blood tests they ran a month ago so I emailed her secretary to see if I can get another appointment with her.

I'm really hoping I'll hear back tomorrow because every day feels dangerous at this stage if there is something I should be taking to give it a better chance .

Now I'm feeling like we should have waited until all the investigations had been done. But at the same time I'm so grateful to be pregnant again. My mind is just all over the place.

Summersun001 · 09/03/2021 19:00

Evening ladies @SuzieDeLaTour @AMS19.

I read so much before hand. And looked at various forums. I just decided to take the plunge and do it. There’s a thread that I’ve stumbled on I’ll find it now! All of whom are taking it and haven’t had any issues so far. I’m in the middle of changing doctors surgeries as I didn’t really like my midwife last time. I’m hoping to book an appointment next week to discuss it. When I spoke to my midwife last time she said that the recommended dosage is 150mg, I technically have a high BMI so she said that women are sometimes prescribed it along with a higher dose of folic acid. I’ll let you know what the dr says! From what I’ve read they have all said different things xxx

AMS19 · 09/03/2021 19:10

@Summersun001 that's so interesting. Please do share anything you've found and definitely anything the midwife/GP says. I've bought 75mg so an even lower dose. I just want to know that its safe and then I'll probably take it with nothing to lose! I'm not going to take it from ovulation though, I'll wait until a BFP I think!

glowingtwig · 09/03/2021 19:25

@Summersun001 it's 150mg I've been prescribed too but the GP I spoke to this morning didn't seem to know if I should take it this early or not 😔

angc30 · 09/03/2021 19:30

@glowingtwig I am really sorry to hear about your miscarriages. I hate that we're in similar boats. So glad that you have your positive though

He really didn't explain why and he does have very mixed reviews. He did say that none of it is proven to help but it's the same no harm thought process. I read on a NI thread that a woman actually traveled to Professor Reagan. I think it's just a case of trying everything and it sticks

I hope this helps but I decided to just start aspirin as soon as I got my most recent positive. I carried this one further than I ever had before. I wasn't formally prescribed aspirin yet so I panicked a bit and stopped it after my first scan showing a HB without speaking to anyone about it. I really regret stopping the aspirin in case it was why we got further than before

I'm kicking myself that we didn't wait but only because if I'd spoken to my doctor sooner after my bloods I probably never would have stopped the aspirin. You're on the right path having already discussed aspirin and progesterone! 🌈🌈 xx

angc30 · 09/03/2021 19:33

@glowingtwig I forgot to add, have you contacted your EPU? I know every trust is different but the midwife I saw today said to phone as soon as I get my next positive and they'll see me bc I've had 3 or more previous losses x

glowingtwig · 09/03/2021 19:34

@angc30 thank you so much, you too.

Prof Regan is supposed to be very good- albeit very 'no nonsense' when we had our initial consultation. I just want to know what the first bloods were so she can just say 'do this'. I trust what she says. I need to read more of her book about miscarriage but the only time I get available to read is before bed and reading about it unsettles me and gives me bad dreams. I'm hoping I get to speak with her tomorrow or at least get some idea through her secretary.

glowingtwig · 09/03/2021 19:38

@angc30 the GP I spoke to this morning contacted them on my behalf to question the aspirin and progesterone- she couldn't get hold of the consultant but the registrar apparently said I should start taking it. I just want to wait and see what Prof Regan thinks. I'm just holding on to the fact that if it hadn't been for the scan and repeat bloods tomorrow I wouldn't have tested yet, so wouldn't even be thinking about it. This is why I don't usually test early. Now an agonising wait to get past when period is due.

One positive thing is that I'm getting stabby pains in my boobs and they are tender when turning over in bed. I had this with DD but not with my last two losses. I had put it down to still breastfeeding, but who knows. Maybe it's a good sign.

Ralala · 09/03/2021 19:45

Cd14 here. We are DTD every other day. Day off tonight. Back on it tomorrow. My cycle and body feels and is reacting like normal which is reassuring minus my temps being all over the place...!

SuzieDeLaTour · 09/03/2021 20:05

@dippyegg32 ha!!! How our minds now work 😀
@angc30 period rain dance sounds amazing! Could provide your neighbours with good entertainment too!! 😂
@glowingtwig oh my love I know you must be feeling like you need answers now. Hopefully you hear back about the blood test results - it’s still such early days that you’ve got time to make changes.
@Summersun001 oh that’s interesting. I feel scared to take something that the doc has told me not to but at the same time I feel like maybe he was being a bit dismissive!? And if it doesn’t do any actual harm, psychologically it might make me feel better a bit like a placebo! X

Neady1980 · 09/03/2021 21:37

Just curious, to those who are in the TWW when are you going to test? I was going to wait till AF is due but my SIL just asked me and my mam up on mothers day for a few drinks and we havent told anyone that we are TTC 🙈🙈

Ralala · 09/03/2021 21:45

@Neady1980 I still drink in the 2ww although I know others don’t. If I was close to my AF I would test but if negative then I would have a drink. Xx
