Hi ladies hoping you are all well also hoping as many of you as possible respond to this as I am totally torn for what to do

My doctor has contacted me about getting the covid vaccine how do you all feel about getting it whilst ttc I just don't know what to do even my doctors advice was quite sketchy it's such a hard decision

Narwhal88 · 16/03/2021 16:07

@Crazydoglady123 glad you have made a decision, it's good to go with your heart and instincts.
@notyetamumbuttrying thank you, jab was fine. Exciting about your birthday! Sounds like a fab day. I love GBK but the nearest one to us (still 10 miles) shut down last year so would have to drive for over an hour haha.
@Motherofkittens28 great news about the lap, don't worry about work this is more important.

Narwhal88 · 16/03/2021 16:09

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker thank you! It is exciting but scary!!

@Sjhigs I've just had my 2nd dose of covid vaccine. You don't have to prevent pregnancy after having it but I wouldn't have it around transfer if having IVF. Personally I'd would rather be protected before pregnancy as covid has caused women to go into preterm labour.

Sjhigs · 16/03/2021 16:13

@Narwhal88 I'm waiting my consultation it's costing us £7000 I just have fear theres not much data yet around pregnancy and ttc il probably be due my 2nd dose smack bang the middle of ivf I really didn't need this spanner threw in the works too 🤦‍♀️

crazycatlady1981 · 16/03/2021 16:20

@Motherofkittens28 I’m so sorry for your loss! Hopefully you’ll be able to start again asap after your next cycle 🤞🏻 I’m hoping to start in May if all goes to plan so there will likely be several of us all starting around the same time and we can all keep each other going! 💕 I’m exactly the same, thinking why did I leave it all so long, but we just really thought we’d get pregnant naturally and I didn’t even consider ivf as an option until last autumn!
Good news on the lap!

@Sjhigs I’m hoping to at least get the first jab before or during the early stages of ivf. I want to know that I have a bit of protection from Covid if I do get pregnant! If I get pregnant first, I’m not sure what I’ll do! 🤔

Sjhigs · 16/03/2021 16:33

Thanks @crazycatlady1981 maybe I'm just thinking too much into it I've asthma (under control) that's why I've been offered so soon mate I should just proceed with it x

Marvellouslymadmum · 16/03/2021 17:51

@Motherofkittens28 wow that's odd! I think it's weird the way they tell you to isolate if you've been in contact but the rest of your family can go about their business unless you get symptoms, but then also tell you that sometimes you'll not get symptoms 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Crazydoglady123 glad you've made your mind up, it's nice to have a definite plan

@Sjhigs ive had my first one, there's no evidence to suggest it will have any adverse effect and there have been people who've had it in pregnancy and been fine and the risks are greater if you catch Covid whilst pregnant and I have severe asthma too

Sjhigs · 16/03/2021 17:54

@Marvellouslymadmum thanks I bit the bullet and booked it just feel so nervous about it

Annny27 · 16/03/2021 19:09

HAHAHHA just found a message I sent to a friend a few years ago when she announced her pregnancy and talking about ttc. I said " yeah omg some people can take up to a year to conceive!!!! Cant imagine that"

Well isnt life just full of coincidences because now you can imagine it 😂😂😂😂😂😂

notyetamumbuttrying · 16/03/2021 19:09

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker yeah on Friday. When I turn geriatric mum when pregnancy finally happens 🤪 it's a bit exciting innit. It'll be a busy bus next month!!
@Sjhigs it is a hard decision. I don't want to give advice but I would say get a second opinion if your dr wasn't giving helping advice! Ah just read that you've booked it. Good for you!
@Narwhal88 we've got one in Greenwich so will get it on Deliveroo! The perks of London living 😉 will miss it when we finally sell our bloody flat and I can move bk to my home town. Buzzing for it, Dh not so much as he's London born n bred. He'll have to adapt to semi rural life. We just can't afford a decent house here and we can get loads for our money bucks! No brainer in my eyes.

notyetamumbuttrying · 16/03/2021 19:13

@Annny27 haha 😆 what a find!! I always had a year in mind as my mum took a year to have my sister but then no time at all to have me or my younger sister. Never did I think I'd still be childless 18 months on mind! 😖

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 16/03/2021 19:47

@Sjhigs they'll talk you through it there anyway, good luck!

@Annny27 it's so weird isn't it, I used to think it was all so easy because I had my two now teenagers so easily but nope all different now! I feel quite cheated by my body!

Narwhal88 · 16/03/2021 19:48

@Annny27 haha! To be honest I always thought in the back of my mind we would have trouble. I remember reading all the IVF threads when I was on my honeymoon only 2 months ttc! Though part of me never thought I would actually be doing it.

@notyetamumbuttrying deliveroo don't deliver anything to my house 😂 I was born and raised in London though, family moved us out when I was 16. Totally get the house prices, they are ridiculous! When are you moving?

Marvellouslymadmum · 16/03/2021 19:54

@Narwhal88 we are the same here can't get deliveroo or just eat or even any local to deliver to us 😕 though it means we don't have takeaway too often lol also born and raised in London but moved down to Kent when I was 6 excellent endive enough around here now but London is crazy priced!

notyetamumbuttrying · 16/03/2021 20:36

@Narwhal88 as soon as we sell our flat. It's been on the market since sept but no offers as yet! Driving me as mad as ttc 🤪

Tofu35 · 16/03/2021 20:53

Ugh at that point in my cycle (cd34) where I'm patiently waiting for my NC app to tell me to do a test (Friday?!) but also feeling worried that I'll find blood when I wipe after going to the toilet.

Bit of a stressful month at work, so it's extended my cycle a few days! Or maybe it's pregnancy? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Since I have the NC app, im trying not to test early and wait for the app to tell me to do it. But it's tempting!!!

Tofu35 · 16/03/2021 20:55

Good luck with your flat selling (and house hunting!) @notyetamumbuttrying!

notyetamumbuttrying · 16/03/2021 21:06

@Tofu35 what's a NC app? I know that acronym as name change 😆 I hope it's good news and not bad on Friday then! Is work going to continue to be stressful or will you get some rest bite soon?
Thank you 😊 it'll probably all come at once won't it, we'll be moving and pregnant at the same time!!

Crazydoglady123 · 16/03/2021 21:08

@Narwhal88 I remember when my NHS consultant first said about IVF the first time we met and I was like no, no, no... now I'm like pass me the injections 😂

@Tofu35 oooooow everything crossed 🤞🤞

Crazydoglady123 · 16/03/2021 21:10

@Motherofkittens28 good that it's another thing to take your mind off things but that's going to be difficult surely isolating from your OH? Mad he can still drive you!

@notyetamumbuttrying that sounds a perfect birthday👌

Tofu35 · 16/03/2021 21:13

Oh it's the natural cycles app, an app for doing your temps @notyetamumbuttrying! It's usually pretty good at predicting ovulation etc although this month has been such a mess I don't know if I ovulated later than expected because this is a long cycle!
Taking the first week and a bit of next month off so looking forward to having no Microsoft Team meetings or looming deadlines. Also since lockdown is starting to ease, I might be able to go out and meet a friend in their garden for a catch up :)
Oh yeah, those two things are definitely going to happen at the same time 😂 exactly like all the couples on location, location, location!

Annny27 · 16/03/2021 21:24

14dpo girls and so bloated and constipated! 😪

@notyetamumbuttrying hindsight haha! Yep my mum got pregnant straight away with us lot!

@narwhal88 once we started trying I then had a feeling it was gonna take a while! Af arrived yet?

@marvellouslymadmum i used to feel so sorry for women who it took long. I was just pre-empting my own empathy haha

Marvellouslymadmum · 16/03/2021 21:30

@Tofu35 good luck for testing on Friday.

@Annny27 I always felt quite lucky as I knew my gran had a lot of issues conceiving but my mum didn't and neither did any of us - the first time round I just never thought things would change that drastically with age 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️
