Especially for you
I wanna let you know what I was going through
All the time we were apart
I thought of you
You were in my heart
My love never changed
I still feel the same

Especially for you
I wanna tell you I was feeling that way too
And if dreams were wings, you know
I would have flown to you
To be where you are
No matter how far
And now that I'm next to you

No more dreaming about tomorrow
Forget the loneliness and the sorrow
I've got to say
It's all because of you

And now we're back together, together
I wanna show you my heart is oh so true
And all the love I have is
Especially for you

Especially for you
I wanna tell you, you mean all the world to me
How I'm certain that our love was meant to be
You changed my life
You showed me the way
And now that I'm next to you

I've waited long enough to find you
I wanna put all the hurt behind you
And I wanna bring out all the love inside you, oh

And now we're back together, together
I wanna show you my heart is oh so true
And all the love I have is
Especially for you

You were in my heart
My love never changed
No more dreaming about tomorrow
Forget the loneliness and the sorrow
I've got to say
It's all because of you

And now we're back together, together
I wanna show you my heart is oh so true
And all the love I have is
Especially for you

I've been a bit lax with my dream shopping, so thought I would give you something.

Was in John Lewis (in you know where nomore) at the weekend, it was bedlam, but I did go and peek at the prams. They didn't have the Bug Chameleon, which annoyed me, but the Gecko was there - and I am still smitten, everything else just pales in comparison (imo)

Pale cream... probably looks fantastic for the first 1/2 hour.... (Sorry, have a bit of a sensible head on this morning) - it won't be you drooling over the pale cream buggy - it will be dc - and drool is the least offensive thing that will get onto it . I think suncream is probably the worst, although ours does get covered in mud and dog due to dog walking in muddy fields in all weathers due to necessity...

Kensgirl - can you get an early scan - I hope so. Don't worry about changes - these will happen, and you won't feel the same every day anyway. Fingers and toes crossed that everything goes well this time.

Ready - like the jumper - ds wore similar things. He's now into Thomas and was upset that he couldn't wear one of his Thomas tops this morning - both went in wash last night so still damp this morning. He had to wear his halloween scary monsters top instead - which he managed to get milk on, although not sufficient to have to change! (I know what he'll come back from nursery looking like!)

MT - PMSL at it not being me drooling over the cream bug ...With your sensible comments in mind, would you say the all black bug would be best then? I had thought about that - but me, being me, wanted something pretty over practical ... Aaw bless your DS not being able to have his Thomas top

How is everyone today? I am eeking out the last couple of hours of certain internet access

We got navy blue and it doesn't seem to have done too badly. Would have preferred a more mid colour - I think sort of sandy brown would have been ideal for us! My father said that we needed to wash the buggy - but my attitude now is that its quite good if it looks a little disreputable as we can leave it outside the loos at the park etc and its still there when we get out. Whatever colour you get it is going to show some things, but at least relatively dark things don't show stains too badly!

Ours doesn't get used that much now, although we do sometimes still take it out on walks. SOmetimes ds is not feeling like going for a walk directly after his nap but we have to go then due to the early arrival of darkness - so we sometimes take the buggy so he can sit in it and eat his 'lunch' from a 'lunchbox' as we start the walk. This means buggy gets covered in crumbs, tomato juice/seeds, cheese, and blackberry jelly (not much of this !)

Of course, if you don't go into the countryside much, you won't need to worry quite as much as we did on the practicallity side - but you still need to make allowances for milk, suncream, rusks, biscuits, duck food, juice etc etc etc! (Let alone mud from boots and shoes as they get older)

Oh, yes, and, if like us, you book the buggy before you know the flavour, you will need to find something that is appropriate for either (although ds does like pink and purple, might give other people the wrong impression)

MT let us dream I think I'd go for the bug in dark grey base (or denim base) and get the changeable covers in pink yellow sand or green you can wash the removable covers.

Sounds good to me. I like green. Would have gone for the MB in sand, except that they had a special offer on when I ordered and could get significant discount if went for shop stock - so only choice of navy or black. Thought navy a little less severe, and made a cosytoes in navy with dogs paw-print motif all over (lovely and warm, and padded at back due to lack of padding in MB)(used blanket padding underneath for first summer - also worked well as easily washable and replaceable!)

One of the gifts ds was given by friend of mine was a blanked with small mouse toy holding onto the corner that included a rattle - this had cream velour type fabric (lovely and soft) on one side and beautiful stripy cotton on the other, and was big enough to cover him in buggy. It was also great when pushing into the sun when it hadn't yet become the time that the shade netting was appropriate.

BTW, thoroughly recommend shade netting (Shadeababe?)- lots less hassle than a parasol, and a lot more effective - ds never minded it being down - did get a few puzzled looks from passersby though! www.mothercare.com/gp/node/n/44341031/202-8553320-5220629?ie=UTF8&mcb=core - look further down the page

Our 'baby Jack' had to be collected from ds's bedroom this morning at breakfast time because he was crying because of the dinosaurs. I told ds to tell him that they all lived a long time ago and that they didn't exist anymore - this seemed to help! Apparently Freddie monster made porridge this morning - luckily, Jessie was content to stay upstairs and come into the bathroom to keep ds company when he got dressed...

DH is rather about the whole imaginary friends thing - I just tend to go along with it. Ds introduced baby Jack out of the blue (btw, Baby Jack is a boy at the moment!). I must admit that I introduced Freddie monster when we were having problems with 'the monster's coming' type comments and becoming very scared - but ds immediately ensured that Freddie had Jessie as a friend to help.

I very rarely instigate any discussion about any of them - like this morning, I was told that Freddie was making porridge as though I needed to be informed that that was where he was - and as for Baby Jack crying (ds went all the way upstairs to his bedroom and came down 'carrying' Baby Jack between his fingers) - that was the first I knew that he was even in the house this morning!

Ds's favourite toy that he has to cuddle at bedtime is an elephant - Nellie. We managed to get a second at an early stage as we liked this toy and it seemed a good size etc. www.mothercare.com/gp/product/B000XQ6D2A/sr=1-19/qid=1195648624/ref=sr_1_19?ie=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ &n=44572031&mcb=core - I think its like this, although I can't remember a 'smile' like that on our 2. Its great having 2 as you can smuggle one into the washing machine and still have another one. However, the clean one tends to live in the cupboard in ds's room - so sometimes if we can't find current one, we find that Nellie has been 'hiding' in the cupboard - to great hillarity. Just occasionally the newly washed and dried Nellie doesn't get smuggled into his cupboard soon enough and ds discovers her when already clutching the one that's currently in-use (usually first thing in the morning - or sometimes on the dryer in the bathroom if not sufficiently hidden by other washing...) - so, we have explained that Nellie's sister has come to stay for a bit - ds doesn't seem at all worried that Nellie's sister then goes back to her own home... What is quite interesting is that he was really certain the other day that Nellie was staying at Nellie's sister's and that he had Nellie's sister instead, not Nellie...

Oh, alright nomore and gilly - stripes, rows - I still can't cast off!!

Report
nomoremagnolia · 21/11/2007 21:41

Casting off is just a case of knitting two stitches then pulling the first one over the second and off the needle. Then knit another stitch and pull the next one over etc etc until the last stitch where you thread the tail of wool through the last loop. Hard to describe though

Yes - my tip for casting off is to make sure that you're not knitting too tightly - otherwise it makes it difficult - and the whole row is likely to be a bit tight - better to be slightly on the loose side so that it doesn't pull the rest of whatever you're knitting out of shape.

And if you're casting off in rib, its always much easier to get the next stitch over once you've pulled the wool round to the back as if to do the next knit stich, rather than try to pull it over directly after the purl stitch. Don't like casting off in rib though...

I enjoy cable patters - the only problem with them is that you probably need a larger % of brain power to be thinking about them rather than watching TV or talking or similar - and you do need to look at what you're doing - unlike more straightfoward knitting. I do like the look of the results though.

Gilly - are you within a reasonable distance of the hospital? If so, dh found it much more agreeable to run sample in from home rather than try to produce it at the clinic. BTW - he had lowish count and only OK mobility, but still managed ds eventually, even though we got to top of NHS IFV list twice...
