No AF....but no BFP either!

I took a test today (not first pee of the day as I didn't have any tests in!) and it was a bfn. I took a frer around 5 days before AF, also a bfn.

I've been ttc for 13 months now, my last pregnancy was August/September 2019 which ended in the loss of my right tube as it was an ectopic. Pregnancy before that in 2018 ended in a mc :(
I kind of feel like it won't happen for me after trying for so long and this month is the first that I 'felt' pregnant and hopeful. A few dull cramps not like af pains. Feeling waves of nausea and quite warm (I'm usually always freezing lol)

Has anyone else experienced having bfn with no sign of AF?

Hi I'm so sorry to hear about your ectopic. That must have been awful. Was wondering how it went, did you get a BFP? I miscarried about the same time as you, and found this post as I'm also late, negative test, and wondering why

I’m kind of in the same boat, CD39 today (usually I’m about 32-34). Have taken two FRERs in the last week and both were BFN. Have been trying for #2 for 11 months. Have had two early miscarriages since.

Feeling so defeated and just want AF to arrive so that we can start trying again.

My period is a few days late too (it's normally on time). I've had a few faint line tests but also some negatives so am quite confused.

I've had 3 chemicals during the past 7 months, I'm sorry about your losses. I'm really struggling at the moment, I hope tomorrow mornings test gives me some clarity. It's devastating seeing negatives after a positive. If this one doesn't work out it'll be my fourth one.

I've been having some symptoms and it's been a few days since my period was due so I started allowing myself to feel hopeful.. and then tonight I tested negative so am really unsure now. It's heartbreaking. Hope you're doing okay too @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7

Thanks for everyone's responses. Unfortunately AF the day after this post. I hope everyone has a better outcome than myself.

I have two beautiful boys and I will be forever grateful for them. I've always said I won't try after a certain age and I'll be reaching that in April. My OH wants us to keep trying but I don't want to spend the rest of my young(ish) years in misery, loss and heartbreak.

I’m going to hold off for another few days and test again. If still negative I’ll just put it down to either a very late AF and wait for it to arrive or possibly a missed period, which I’ve never had in my life...

It’s been a very stressful 2 weeks for me so I’m thinking it could just be stress causing me to be late. Who knows though. Our bodies are so frustrating sometimes aren’t they?! 🙈

@tuesday2am, think I'll do the same. I think I either ovulated late, or geared up to ovulate and didn't. As I had EWCM through the 2WW, and flashing smileys on the CB, not a static peak.

It is frustrating! I kind of just want to know either way. And if its just late, I want to get onto the next cycle! Want to try soy isoflavones this time for stronger ovulation, longer luteal phase. Just getting impatient

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I’ve no idea if I ovulated as I haven’t been tracking this month, but as far as I know I’ve never not ovulated (at least not when I’ve tracked in the past), but you never know I guess! I’ve always ovulated around the time my app said I would, so I’m assuming that’s still the case.

I’ve just caved and asked DP to pick me up a test when he’s at the shops. 👀🙈 One of my apps says 7 days late and the other says 4 lol, so either way if it’s negative then I’ll take that as my final answer this month and just wait for AF.

I caved also, I picked up a test after work. Not pregnant! I really have to wait now as I'm 3 days late with three negative tests.

I don't think its common for me not to ovulate either, but it also was the 1st time I can think of that EWCM was cropping up throughout the 2WW. So maybe something has gone a bit wrong.

I had a chemical pregnancy last month so I think it pushed my ovulation to be a bit later but I didn't see a peak so have no idea when it actually happened. Had some very faint positives a few days ago and now they're all negative. I definitely have a problem with testing 🤦🏼‍♀️ so am waiting for my bleeding to start... have never experienced a loss without bleeding almost immediately so have no idea what is happening. Period is 3 days late. This sucks!

@choccrumpet I'm so sorry to hear. Do you have any idea why for the losses? Must be awful to have had the constant disappointment last few months.

I'm hoping for you it was a later ovulation from the chemical, and it'll be a good result x

Thank you @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 absolutely no known reason for the losses yet. I've got a pelvic ultrasound appointment in a few weeks to check that everything is as it should be and have been referred to the fertility specialist clinic but no idea when I'll get an appointment due to covid.

Unless my body doesn't deal with hcg very well and gives false negatives I very much doubt it'll be a positive ☹️

Feeling some cramping atm so let's see if period arrives overnight.

@choccrumpet good to hear you've an ultrasound booked and are getting everything checked out. For peace of mind for than anything, hope all is as it should be

I've been doing lots of research for possible reasons as to why my period hasn't arrived and there are definitely a few possible contenders 🙈 I'm cautiously hopeful that a bfp will show up eventually..

Out of interest what are they? I've been reading around a bit, but its made me more confused!

Things like late ovulation - if you ovulated later than normal this may delay your period, or it may look that way to you but in actuality it's just that ovulation happened later than normal, therefore the luteal phase will start & end later than normal and therefore your period begins later than normal. I don't think you'd be aware of this unless you track bbt or use OPKs.

Stress can delay it, I read that diet or exercise changes can delay it but im guessing they have to be quite big changes to have such an impact. Illness, taking certain medications like antibiotics can delay it. And then of course pregnancy.

Some women don't get a bfp until a week or more after their missed period so that could also be the case (and what I'm hoping for).

And then of course there's just no obvious reasons as to why it's late. You gotta be extremely in tune with all these different things to really know for sure which isn't realistic

To be honest I don't think any of that will help you or anyone else. Our only option is to stay patient and hope we'll find out sooner than later. And if you're concerned so speak to your doctor.

Yesterday’s test was negative... and AF made her appearance about an hour ago. Quite relieved actually that I can now just get going with this new cycle. Really hoping April is my month for a BFP!

Can I join?? Cd37 and too many BFN's to count 😫 I had a MMC last month so not sure why I'm surprised but I had hoped!

I feel like I have symptoms similar to my last pregnancy but the tests say otherwise. That being said I did not get a bfp on a urine test last time and only had it confirmed with a scan and bloods so I have a glimmer of hope with that.

Has anyone used the hcg at home blood tests? There are very mixed reviews so wouldn't want to do one and get a false positive.
